Chapter 96: Light Always Accompanies Darkness
“I thought you said you were covering the rear?”
“Mm.”
Caesar watched as Lu Mingfei dragged a monkey-faced man, the man’s jaw dislocated, limbs twisted at the joints.
“You covered the rear and wiped out a hundred people?!”
“They’re all still alive.” Lu Mingfei set Ma Shengzhen down; luckily, he had checked Volume Two of Dragon Clan: Black Moon Tide to confirm Ma Shengzhen’s crisis stemmed from this monkey-faced man.
“Their conditions are about the same as this guy’s—maybe even a bit charred.” Lu Mingfei remembered the pitch-black cement road and the wrecked motorcycle when he left.
Fate could still be changed—at least this time he saved Ma Shengzhen, preventing her from falling off the building and being hit by a Viper.
Lu Mingfei suppressed the killing intent and rage in his heart; a voice in his mind told him this lowly, despicable scum dared to try killing the person he meant to save.
At this moment, he should slice open this monkey-faced man and these runaway gang beasts, tear them apart, chop them to pieces!
Lu Mingfei threw the monkey-faced man at Caesar’s feet; Caesar had no time to care for him, only stared at Ma Shengzhen with lingering dread—if Lu Mingfei hadn’t appeared in time, he would regret it for life! He had brought this girl on this adventure.
Lu Mingfei pressed his hands to his head, trying to purge those voices and thoughts from his mind.
These voices and thoughts weren’t his own—he only wanted to save lives.
“Lu Mingfei.” Chu Zihang called out.
Lu Mingfei snapped back to reality and found Chu Zihang staring at him.
“I’m fine, let’s go, Senior Brother.”
But then Lu Mingfei noticed the monkey-faced man pulling out a phone, as if trying to call for help.
He snatched the phone before it could connect, before the other side could speak.
“Kill you within three days!”
Lu Mingfei crushed the phone in his hand.
“Sorry,” Lu Mingfei suddenly apologized, “I can’t control my temper right now.”
“This isn’t me.”
Chu Zihang stepped forward, gripping Lu Mingfei’s shoulder, and said seriously:
“I know you’re Lu Mingfei—that’s enough.”
“Let’s go.”

“Thank you, Boss! Boss is generous! Boss, see you next time!” Su Lin held a silver suitcase containing the remaining six alchemical weapons of the Seven Sins; he opened an extradimensional safe and tossed them inside, near the glass vials of witch’s potion.
He thought about setting up a weapon rack later.
These collectibles were far more exciting than his old collection of plastic figurines and merch.
Maybe he should get a bigger display cabinet someday, collecting unique items from across worlds—pure satisfaction.
“Good,” Old Lu stood atop a Western-style building, surveying the floating island with a satisfied expression: “Large enough, well-landscaped—perfect as an imperial palace.”
“What about the teleportation function?” Old Lu looked at Su Lin.
Su Lin pulled a small metal rod from his coat pocket, glanced at it, then handed it to Old Lu.
“Technology and magic?” Old Lu scanned the metal rod, then slipped it into his pocket: “You really do have all sorts of strange things.”
“But this thing… pfft, it’s pathetic, nowhere near my expectations. Fine, I’ll take the loss and spend some time upgrading it.”
“Hahaha.”
Su Lin had indeed picked only a mediocre teleportation device priced at 1600.
“Tag those half-breeds for me, Administrator,” Old Lu descended, where Jiude Mayi had already been waiting: “I don’t think that’s too much to ask.”
“Got it.”
Su Lin pulled out the free phone he’d acquired in this world (sponsored by Lu Mingze).
Golden Core Stage Light God: “@All members, bring your family members—come alone or with your whole clan, your choice. But only those who can fight. The elderly, weak, and children stay in the dorms on the floating island; gather together at a designated spot.”
Zhao Huai Gu: “Received.”
Wu Haoran: “Received.”
Li Qing: “Received.”
After sending the message, Su Lin put away his phone and walked beside Old Lu.
Su Lin glanced at Jiude Mayi, who kept glancing back at Lu Mingfei with a complex expression, and said with a strange look: “What did you do in just one day?”
“Nothing much, right, Mayi-chan?” Lu Mingfei turned and asked.
“Shut up!” Jiude Mayi, for the first time ever, blushed—this woman with legs from neck down, who specialized in manipulating emotions, suddenly spoke in flustered haste: “Who’s your Mayi-chan?! I tell you—I don’t accept it! That… that was fake!”
“…” Su Lin stopped walking, scanning both their faces. “Hypnosis? Brainwashing?”
“Aren’t you a pure god?!” Jiude Mayi gasped, voice rising in disbelief: “How do you even know about such things?!”
“Even in light, there are shadows,” Su Lin said without changing expression, solemnly: “As Tolstoy said, all beauty is made of light and shadow.”
“So you got taken down in just one day?”
“Should I call the police, miss?”
Su Lin drew a sword of light—blazing bright yet chillingly cold.
“If he violated your personal will, I’d have the perfect excuse—”
“No—perfect justification for righteous judgment.”
Su Lin was eager to leap forward and end the coming chaos in the Dragon Clan world right now.
“No no no!” Jiude Mayi shook her head, “He just shoved some strange things into my body—”
Brilliant light pierced through the clouds, shot out from Earth—satellites across nations captured this moment of beauty.
A few strands of hair drifted down; Old Lu’s smile cracked.
“Memories! Those were memories! Don’t say things that make people misunderstand!” Old Lu shouted at Jiude Mayi, then turned to Su Lin: “Do you really not trust my principles?! Do you think I’m that kind of person?!”
“Sorry,” Su Lin said sincerely. “I thought you’d broken down, haha. Don’t mind it, my friend.”
Su Lin awkwardly changed the subject: “Come on, tell me about these memories.”
Old Lu gave Su Lin a side-eye: “I transmitted memories and stories from another world to her.”
“How do I know if they were real or not!” Jiude Mayi blushed furiously: “Even if… even if they were real, don’t even think about it!”
Su Lin felt this woman’s character had shattered—he suddenly became intensely curious about what had happened in that other timeline.
“So you plan to share those stories with every one of your heroines?”
Su Lin roughly guessed how Lu Mingfei intended to build his harem: “But those are just events that never happened in this world—how useful can they be?”
“As long as they form impressions and emotions toward the me in this world, that’s enough,” Old Lu didn’t care about Su Lin’s question: “I said it before—the protagonist of this world is only him, not me.”
“But I must prepare a grand romantic comedy for him.”
“Right, Mayi-chan~?” Old Lu’s tone was teasing.
“Shut up! Shut up! Don’t call me that!” Jiude Mayi completely abandoned her persona, blushing as she hurried away.
Will “Tokyo Love Story” become “Tokyo Dragon Breeding Legend”?
Su Lin shook his head; at least there was some entertainment.
‘Let’s just stand here for a second, Lu Hui.’
