Chapter 162: Many Dharma Assemblies on Penglai Immortal Island, Peng Zu Preaches the Dao Outside the Immortal Workshop [5k]
However, throughout the journey, Fang Longye did not engage in much interaction with the passing immortals and gods he encountered from time to time.
Aside from occasionally enjoying the scenery to relax his mind, most of the time he was following the Heavenly Secrets to direct the two women, Qingli, in driving the carriage, while immersing his mind in two matters of cultivation.
The comprehension and practice of the Great Five Elements Art, and the removal of the karmic curse upon the "Seven-Orifice Exquisite Heart."
As for removing the karmic curse on the Seven-Orifice Exquisite Heart, it goes without saying that he was naturally utilizing the newly acquired "Creation Purifying World Bead."
As for the Great Five Elements Art.
Previously, after receiving the divine ability method of the Five-Colored Divine Light through Randeng Gu Fo, he pondered it slightly and, without much hesitation, exchanged for this Great Divine Ability from the Immortal World through his Golden Finger.
It was only because he had not been able to spare the effort before that he did not practice it immediately.
The Great Five Elements Art is no ordinary divine ability.
In the Immortal World, it is also known as the Five Emperors Great Demon Divine Ability, and it is the ultimate divine ability of the Five Elements path in that world.
Once mastered, one can reverse the five elemental elements and possess supreme world-creating power.
Most crucially, in Fang Longye's view, the philosophy of the divine ability path in the Immortal World seems quite similar to the divine ability path to the Dao pursued by the great Kong Xuan.
Unlike most divine abilities in the Honghuang world, which, despite expounding the ultimate principles of heaven and earth, cannot directly increase one's cultivation level and still require a fundamental cultivation method.
In the Honghuang world, generally speaking, a cultivation method is a cultivation method, and a divine ability is a divine ability; the two are not the same concept.
And what about the Immortal World? The three thousand Great Daos are the three thousand divine abilities.
Practicing a divine ability is practicing a cultivation method, and in the end, it is directly practicing the Great Dao.
One can see a glimpse of this just by looking at the five methods broken down from the Great Five Elements Art.
The Qing Di Wood Emperor Skill generates vitality, transforms vegetation, creates Grotto-Heavens, strengthens the physique, and is also mysterious and unparalleled in alchemy and medicine.
The Chidi Huahuang Qi transforms all fire energy. The White Emperor Gold Emperor Slash is known for its sharp edge and instant killing speed.
The Black Emperor Water Emperor Fist is based on surging power, long-lasting endurance, and dense toughness. The Yellow Emperor Earth Emperor Dao can assimilate all Houtu essence.
Each of these methods, taken individually, could serve as a cultivation method for increasing one's cultivation level.
Of course, this is not that important to Fang Longye; what he values is the "Five Emperors Canopy" formed after successfully practicing these five emperors' divine abilities.
It is so compatible with the "Five-Colored Treasure Tree" divine ability he realized at the beginning! Unfortunately, the "Great Five Elements Art" is, after all, a divine ability comparable to the great Kong Xuan's Five-Colored Divine Light. For him, it is still too profound.
Although, thanks to the assistance of various Five Elements essences, this divine ability—which can be mastered by consuming resources—allowed Fang Longye to enter the door very quickly.
He even managed to cultivate the Five Emperors Canopy.
But to have him integrate this divine ability into the "Five-Colored Treasure Tree" he had realized, he truly had no clue at all.
He did not see even a hint of the possibility of fusion.
This was still the result of Fang Longye activating the "Seven-Orifice Exquisite Heart," a rare treasure, to boost his comprehension and wisdom.
"Sigh! I wonder if, after the Human Dao karma on the 'Seven-Orifice Exquisite Heart' is washed away and dissolved, the wisdom and comprehension gained from refining it into my body will be able to help in this regard."
Sitting in the carriage, Fang Longye opened his eyes, sighed, and looked at the surrounding scenery.
Then, his mind sank into his Purple Mansion, looking at the "Seven-Orifice Exquisite Heart" that was being cleansed by the "Creation Purifying World Bead."
He saw that in the sea of consciousness of his Purple Mansion, a crimson heart was emitting seven-colored halos, floating uncertainly; within it were seven orifices, beating continuously and spitting out divine brilliance, appearing incomparably sacred.
But if one were to operate a divine ability like "Seeing Through the Partition," to penetrate the subtle and reach the core.
One would discover that this incomparably sacred heart would occasionally emit wisps of black energy, with karma entangled upon it, very deep and thick, impossible to dissolve.
This was the result of the "Creation Purifying World Bead" floating above it during this period, continuously pouring down clear radiance and cleansing and purifying it without a moment's pause.
Otherwise, the Human Dao karma upon it would be even heavier.
Before obtaining the "Creation Purifying World Bead," it was not that he had not tried to completely refine this "Seven-Orifice Exquisite Heart."
After all, when he first obtained the treasure "Seven-Orifice Exquisite Heart," he was only at the Yuan Immortal realm. After his cultivation improved, he naturally wondered if it was because his previous cultivation was shallow.
As a result, Fang Longye, who was already thousands and tens of thousands of times stronger than before, discovered that this rare treasure, which had suffered from the Human Dao karmic curse, indeed possessed a streak of evil nature.
Having gained quite a bit of growth, he was indeed able to continue refining it to a deeper level.
But as long as he crossed that thunder pool by one step, most of the karmic power upon it would turn into black chains invisible to the naked eye, coiling from top to bottom like dragons and snakes, interlacing upon his body.
Tightly and securely, it was simply impossible to cut them off.
Even if he retreated from that step of deep refining and most of the karma receded, he would still be contaminated with a large amount of residue.
Each time, it required him to cleanse it for a long time.
To remove it completely.
It was only now, having obtained the "Creation Purifying World Bead," that Fang Longye saw the possibility of completely controlling this "Seven-Orifice Exquisite Heart."
While pondering, Fang Longye felt an inexplicable Aura and came back to his senses.
He realized that by following the guidance of the Heavenly Secrets, they had actually arrived outside Penglai Xiandao.
This gathering place for immortals and gods of the East Sea.
Looking outward, Fang Longye praised loudly: "What a Penglai Xianshan!"
It is worthy of being a place where great beings gather, a famous mountain and blessed land that has existed since ancient times!
The three immortals Fu Lu Shou, Donghua Dijun,... and so on and so forth, too many famous great beings have opened dojos or established secondary residences here.
He saw the vast ocean all around, the water clear and bright.
Its depth was unfathomable, its breadth unimaginable, stretching without end; the sun and moon rose from within it, and the galaxy hung inverted between the waves.
As the sky light shone down, one could see giant turtles as large as mountains swimming underwater, and quiet giant clams spitting out pearls.
Among the branching coral trees on the seabed, more than ten thousand fish were darting back and forth.
Mist steamed and clouds rose, lush and green, coming and going, obscuring a patch of space. With his current realm, he could not see it clearly.
It looked as if it were on the sea, yet it seemed not to be; only by passing through special channels could one enter.
Fortunately, along the way, he had encountered no small number of immortals and gods, and although he had no deep exchanges, he had learned quite a few rules and common knowledge of the East Sea cultivation world.
Moreover, there were crowds of immortals and gods entering and exiting to demonstrate. Fang Longye immediately exited the carriage, put away his mount, and revealed his Aura.
Amidst a burst of pleasant immortal music, a large toad cast from red copper appeared before him, its mouth wide open.
Fang Longye imitated the immortals and gods not far away, tossing ten merit gold coins into its mouth.
Cling-clang—
The copper toad statue immediately submerged into the void.
Subsequently, a thunderclap rang out in the clear sky, piercing through heaven and earth from top to bottom, filling the sea with frost-white light, as if an invisible giant hand had given a gentle flick.
It brushed away a portion of the clouds that had existed for countless ages, revealing a gateway that only Fang Longye and his party could see.
The full view of the immortal mountain on the sea entered their sight through the gateway.
A seemingly boundless continent appeared before their eyes, with cinnabar cliffs and strange rocks emerging one after another, and sheer walls and peculiar peaks in great profusion.
Beneath the cloud-covered crags of every immortal mountain were long-lived deer and immortal foxes, and the precious trees were filled with spiritual birds and mysterious cranes.
There were all kinds of auspicious grasses and exotic flowers, and thousands of types of Flat Peach and immortal dates.
It was truly a magnificent realm of immortal mountains.
Fang Longye did not hesitate; he sensed the Heavenly Secrets, said nothing more, and directly led the two women into this place.
……
An inexplicable Aura rushed toward them, striking between their brows and entering directly into their spiritual platforms, leaving their entire bodies feeling incredibly comfortable.
Fang Longye let out a breath, feeling the environment where the spiritual essence was filled to the extreme, and couldn't help but praise: "It truly is a holy land that has remained since the opening of heaven and earth!"
It really is different.
Although his own Cangmang Mountain Cave Abode was managed quite well, compared to this, it was truly the difference between sand and pearls.
This was no wonder; this was one of the few remaining Xiantian Spiritual Essences in existence today.
Although at present, the Xiantian Spiritual Essence still remaining in this magnificent realm had been hidden away by the various great powers cultivating here.
But the postnatal spiritual essence constantly being generated alone was enough to surpass ninety-nine percent of the immortal mountains and spiritual islands under heaven!
Fang Longye looked around and realized that "looking at a mountain is like running a horse to death."
Looking from the outside just now, Penglai Island seemed to be just a cluster of a thousand mountains, but in fact, there were vast, boundless plains between each immortal mountain.
Penglai Island—though called an immortal island, in Fang Longye's view, it was more like a large continent.
It was indeed not as vast and boundless as the Four Great Continents, but it was by no means a cramped place.
On the plains, there were cities where immortals and mortals lived together.
There were immortals, cultivators, and a large number of mortals, all living, multiplying, and working in peace and contentment here.
Fang Longye shook his head; people are truly different—compared to their kin in other realms, these mortals were truly blessed with deep fortune.
Not to mention anything else, just by dwelling in this land of creation, the spiritual essence and Dao Rhyme they breathed in and out were enough to grant them long lifespans. Even without practicing cultivation, each of them was an existence capable of living over a thousand years.
Calling them heavenly beings would not be an exaggeration.
Moreover, because immortals and mortals lived together, as long as these mortals had talent, most of them could embark on the path of cultivation.
Furthermore, Penglai Island was the location of the Cave Abodes and secondary residences of great orthodox powers like Donghua Dijun and the Fu Lu Shou stars.
As a facade, these mortals basically faced no dangers other than birth, aging, sickness, and death.
What is called "the years are quiet and good"?
This was it!
Compared to the dire straits he had seen in the southern region of Beiju Luzhou, it was truly a world of difference.
Why are you always bearing the weight of the world? Because someone is living in quiet and good years on your behalf! Smiling, Fang Longye sensed the direction indicated by the Heavenly Secrets and, carrying Qingli and Ao Ying, immediately rode the clouds and mist away.
Along the way, stopping and going, it took quite some time before Fang Longye and his two attendants arrived at the location of an Xianfang.
It was actually a city built by immortals and gods.
Inside, it was likewise a place where immortals and mortals lived together.
Immortals, gods, cultivators, sea clans, and mortals came and went in an endless stream.
Just as Fang Longye was about to take the two women into this city, he saw many people in the city heading toward the outside in unison.
There were men and women, old and young, immortals and mortals, and even many sea clans, all in an orderly fashion, clearly well-accustomed to this.
Ao Ying spoke up: "Master, it seems to be another Dharma assembly!"
Fang Longye nodded: "I just don't know if it's a famous senior."
Along the way, they had seen too many Dharma assemblies where altars were set up to preach the Dao, and they had become somewhat numb to it.
There were groups of three or five friends discussing the Dao together, and there were senior experts who, in a moment of inspiration, would preach the Dharma.
Among them, there was no lack of ancient immortals who were already famous in the Earth Immortal Realm.
Just by glancing around, Fang Longye had already encountered several immortals and gods who were considered famous in his past life.
For instance, Chijiao Daxian, Sa Zhenren of the Four Great Heavenly Masters, the wine immortal Du Kang of Human Race origin, Hou Ji who was known as the God of the Five Grains, Feng Hou who had assisted the Xuanyuan Emperor in the past,...
And so on and so forth.
Some were traveling here, while others simply had their Cave Abodes located on Penglai.
It could only be said that the atmosphere of Penglai was truly worthy of its reputation as a holy land for cultivation in the East Sea.
Even those who had just barely become immortals were all communicating and discussing the Dao with others without reservation.
Each and every one of them had quite the air of an ancient immortal.
Fang Longye sensed that Ao Ying's opportunity and fortune lay within this Xianfang city.
Judging from the Heavenly Secrets, it was steady and secure, so there was no need to rush; naturally, he would first go to see which sacred being was preaching the Dharma.
The three of them followed the flow of people leaving the Xianfang and, along a winding stream, arrived at a vacant valley not far away.
They saw that the crowd, whether immortal or mortal, was silently sitting around under an ancient tree with a canopy like clouds.
Beneath that ancient tree, a few giant rocks were sparsely placed, but they were empty.
A short while later.
After everyone was seated, an old man with the hair of a crane and the face of a child appeared silently on one of the giant rocks and sat quietly in meditation.
Even though Fang Longye had been staring in the direction of the giant boulder the entire time, he still did not perceive how this old man had appeared.
As soon as this old man with crane-like hair and a youthful complexion appeared, he caused the crowd to suddenly rise one after another, respectfully bowing and greeting him.
"Greetings, Peng Zu!"
"Hmm? Peng Zu? This is somewhat interesting~"
It was not that Fang Longye was surprised by the old man's identity; he had just finished listening to the Human Race Great Sage Feng Hou expound on the Dao!
What did Peng Zu even count for? The main thing was that, although he could not see through the old man's reality, he felt an inexplicably familiar sense regarding the path this Peng Zu practiced.
Fang Longye did not avoid it either; he focused his mind and stared at the man for quite a while, only then roughly understanding Peng Zu's path of cultivation.
"It seems there are many errors in the rumors of the world!" A glint appeared in Fang Longye's eyes, and he shook his head with a laugh.
It is said that he attained the Dao and lived forever in the world because of bedroom arts.
Now it seems, the words do not tell the whole truth.
Speaking of which, this Peng Zu, the great-grandson of Zhuanxu, could be called famous among the Human Race, whether in his past life or the present.
Several Human Kings had once gone to great lengths, wanting to meet him, but they often failed to find the opportunity.
For instance, Zhou Wang had looked for him, and Ji Fa had also looked for him. In the end, he either avoided them or faked his death to escape.
Why were all the Human Kings so keen on him? For no other reason than the path to longevity.
Before the First Emperor, although Human Kings could still practice cultivation, they could only extend their lives, not attain longevity.
Being a Human King is not an easy task.
The karma of the Human Dao and the vast red dust of the world all converge upon the body of the Human King, wearing everything away.
Unless they can attain the Great Luo Dao, no matter how powerful these Human Kings are, and even if they suppress the human world for thousands or tens of thousands of years, they will eventually have a day when their lifespan ends.
Of course, at that time, the Human King still possessed cultivation, so even if they died of old age, they could switch to practicing as a Ghost Immortal.
However, people are greedy. Which emperor does not hope to reign and hold power for all eternity? And Peng Zu, famous for his long life, naturally entered the eyes of successive Human Kings.
Actually, come to think of it, there is no shortage of immortals and gods worshipped among the Human Race; why did successive Human Kings tirelessly search for him?
It is naturally because of a "secret" known to every passerby, which is that Peng Zu is extremely skilled in bedroom arts.
People pass it on by word of mouth that the reason Peng Zu can live forever in the world is by relying on this mysterious Dharma.
In this way, whether they are emperors, generals, or common folk, they naturally flock to Peng Zu.
After all, the affairs of immortals and gods are not yet considered rare among the Human Race.
Many of the Human Race know that immortals and gods value affinity and aptitude when taking disciples. If one's aptitude is average and one's affinity is insufficient, even a Human King can do nothing about it.
Moreover, the cultivation of a Human King is vastly different from that of an ordinary person, and it is definitely not something ordinary immortals and gods dare to interfere with.
And bedroom arts, this secret technique, in the eyes of past Human Kings, although it is a Leftist Path, does not violate the Human Dao or the red dust at all.
Even if it cannot help them attain longevity, at the very least, it can extend their lifespan a bit more.
It is just that, clearly, with Fang Longye's discernment, this Human Race sage's method of longevity does not lie in any bedroom arts.
Of course, as a Human Race sage, even if Peng Zu's bedroom arts could truly help these Human Kings extend their lives and attain longevity.
Peng Zu would not agree to something that goes against the Human Dao and affects the development of the Human Race.
Under such circumstances, Peng Zu naturally would not meet these Human Kings. Even if they truly found his tracks, he would only prevaricate and say nothing.
For example, Zhou Wang's great-grandfather, Wuyi, once accidentally met him while hunting in the wilderness, so he hurriedly asked him for the path to longevity.
As a result, at that time, Peng Zu said with great shame: "I was born a posthumous child and lost my mother at three; I encountered the chaos of the Quanrong and wandered in the far west for over a hundred years.
Added to that was early frailty; I lost forty-nine wives and fifty-four children; I have suffered many hardships, and my harmonious Qi is damaged; my glory and defenses are withered, and I fear I will not survive this world. What I have heard is shallow and not worth spreading."
That withered appearance truly made Wuyi believe he was not long for this world, so he let him leave.
But after Zhou Wang ascended the throne, someone still saw him in the West Wasteland. After the news reached Zhou Wang's ears, he realized his great-grandfather had been deceived~ and so Peng Zu, who claimed he was not long for this world, outlived generation after generation of Human Kings.
He completely experienced the rise and fall of one dynasty after another.
Then, what is the foundation of Peng Zu's longevity?
Could it just be ordinary, step-by-step bitter cultivation? Not necessarily.
If there were no uniqueness to it, it would not have made Fang Longye feel an inexplicable sense of familiarity.
Speaking of which, Peng Zu's cultivation path is actually quite similar to the Companion Spiritual Root Dharma that Fang Longye practices.
To summarize, it is the Root of Life Spiritual Root Dharma.
Everything one cultivates—essence, Qi, spirit, Dao principles, and so on—is entirely entrusted to a single Spiritual Root.
The difference is that Peng Zu entrusts everything completely to the Spiritual Root, with life, death, and cultivation all changing along with the Spiritual Root.
While the secret technique Fang Longye uses to nurture his Companion Spiritual Root in his later years only pursues the goal of Reverse Innate.
To make a common comparison, Peng Zu's method is walking on one leg, while Fang Longye just has an extra walking stick for climbing.
But regardless, Peng Zu's cultivation path still holds great reference value for Fang Longye.
He immediately turned his mind back, cast aside these wild thoughts, and devoted his full attention to Peng Zu's preaching and expounding of the Dharma.
