Chapter 174: The Rotation of Time-Space Derives All Things; Tempering the Tiger Soul to Polish the Coiled Dragon【Revised】【3k】

~13 min read 2,408 words

And so it was.

Three months of time passed in a flash.

Fang Longye's refinement of the exotic treasure, the "Seven-Orifice Exquisite Heart," finally neared its end.

As the last wisp of Aura from this exotic treasure was swallowed by his Bloodline, in an instant, inconceivable phenomena occurred both inside and outside his body.

A burst of immortal music sounded, pleasing to the ear.

Fang Longye's entire body radiated a sky full of brilliance, intermingled with cyan and purple, reaching up to the heavens, flickering open and closed.

Then, one divided into two, two into four, four into eight, and eight into millions upon millions, endless and boundless.

Each one transformed into a fist-sized five-colored lamp flame, floating through the air, carrying a fragrance.

In an instant, the Grotto-Heaven he rented was filled with shining lamp light, overflowing with precious incense, and crisscrossed with clouds and mist—a scene of sacred manifestation.

A short while later.

Fang Longye's eyelids moved slightly; he gathered his focus and opened his eyes, which shone with brilliance.

The fragrance and lamp light fell upon him simultaneously, reflecting his current surprise and joy.

Withdrawing the strange phenomena, Fang Longye looked within himself and discovered that his true form, from head to toe, inside and out, was filled with a vast and inconceivable vitality.

Moreover, it was incomparably sacred.

Even within his blood flowed threads of sacred radiance.

This was not even the greatest harvest; what mattered was that the unique quality of the Seven-Orifice Exquisite Heart had appeared within him.

He saw that his heart was suffused with seven-colored divine light, with orifices all around, folding and returning, layers of halos emerging.

Within the heart, there were far more than seven orifices.

These heart-orifices were connected by special channels, winding and twisting, turning a hundred times.

As blood flowed through the heart, it immediately became stained with a sacred radiance.

It was as if all worldly impurities had been washed away.

Boom! Boom! Boom! With every heartbeat, there was a vast and irresistible power, erupting like a tsunami.

The sound reverberated.

Fang Longye felt it, and he felt his entire mind was incomparably clear.

His divine wisdom was peerless.

His comprehension was thorough.

Looking around again, the ordinary scenery now appeared to his eyes with different colors, different light and shadow, and different sounds, all rushing toward him.

An unprecedented feeling suffused his heart.

What he saw, heard, and sensed was completely different from before.

Fang Longye reached out to touch the leaves falling from time to time, sparse and scattered, sensing once again the difference from the original world.

The Supreme Ultimate and Two Instruments, the Three Talents and Four Symbols, the Five Elements and Six Harmonies, the Seven Stars and Eight Trigrams, the Nine Palaces and Ten Directions, and so on—the vast and mysterious Heavenly Secrets were clearly manifested in every blade of grass, every tree, every drop of water, and every stone.

One bright and one dark, one still and one moving—everything was there.

A sentence suddenly popped into Fang Longye's mind: "When heaven and earth first opened, who transmitted the Dao? When all things were in Chaos, who awakened their spirits? All conditioned Dharma can be self-realized by all living beings!"

The Heavenly Secrets are there, the mysteries exist, and the years pass on, immortal; the so-called Great Dao is right before one's eyes, waiting only for one to discover it.

The truths of heaven and earth and the mysteries of the world are eternal.

People cannot see them not because they do not exist, but because they lack the eyes to discover them.

As long as one's comprehension is thorough, even without a master, one can observe heaven and earth and self-realize the Dharma.

Although, this requires the wisdom to understand heaven and earth and a peerless, superhuman capacity for comprehension.

Fang Longye walked slowly, observing every little detail around him with a wondrous gaze, moving at will, as if intoxicated.

In the past, even under the "Gaze Through Walls" divine ability, he had never had such a different experience.

The main thing was that no matter how mysterious a divine ability was, if he could not understand it, it was useless.

This is also the reason why cultivators who see the Great Dao directly face the risk of "Dao-assimilation."

What cannot be understood, no matter how mysterious, is merely a burden.

He activated the "Gaze Through Walls" divine ability once more, and the mysteries he had never noticed before were taken into his eyes, swaying back and forth.

It was even more detailed and penetrating than before.

More importantly, he could clearly understand these mysteries, with almost nothing he did not grasp.

A rebirth!

It felt as if he had changed his brain; the speed at which he processed problems soared.

"Right now, it is time to contemplate the various principles derived from the evolution of the Grotto-Heaven within my body!"

Fang Longye muttered to himself.

Immediately, he immersed his mind into the Grotto-Heaven within his body.

Looking at the Grotto-Heaven again, he had a different perception.

Scenery different from the past fell upon his heart.

Ding-dong, ding-dong—

Inside the Grotto-Heaven.

The suffused sound of the Dao was like the surging of water, and layers of Dao Rhyme permeated, hanging down like threads, filling the entire six directions of the Grotto-Heaven.

Sensing carefully, the Grotto-Heaven was full of wondrous rhythms and Auras, forming various runes and imprints of all sizes.

From the perspective of his Primordial Spirit, the colors were lush and dense, spinning around, changing at every moment.

Without pause or slack, it breathed in and out spiritual energy.

Maintaining the operation of the Grotto-Heaven.

Fang Longye's thoughts stirred; within the void of the Grotto-Heaven, a stream of light appeared, flickering in and out of existence.

Observing it closely, it was like a flowing stream, shimmering with ripples, crystalline and translucent.

This was the manifestation of the light of time within the Grotto-Heaven.

From ancient times to the present is called "Zhou" (time); the four directions and the vertical are called "Yu" (space).

Time and space have always been closely linked.

Only when space is solid can it withstand the scouring of more powerful forces of time.

Regarding the flow of time within the Grotto-Heaven world, it is precisely because space is increasingly solid that it can withstand a greater rate of time flow.

It is just like how, after Fang Longye previously gained some understanding of the principles of the light of time through Dual Cultivation with Ao Ying.

Although he could manage to increase the time flow within the Grotto-Heaven by more than ten million times, it would be all for nothing if the Grotto-Heaven itself could not endure it.

At present, the Grotto-Heaven, which was already very stable, has become even more solid under Fang Longye's various operations.

Naturally, there is no need to worry about this point.

Fang Longye's mind stirred. In an instant, the time flow of the Grotto-Heaven began to soar, and countless magnificent scenes flashed by rapidly.

Before long, ten thousand years had already passed within the Grotto-Heaven.

The previously incessant heavy rain finally stopped, and the water began to rise and fall, the sun and moon rose and set, and the stars shifted.

Under the vast and deep sky, colors flickered and shone.

During this process, Fang Longye's consciousness had long been immersed in the changes of the Grotto-Heaven, observing and feeling them in detail.

Above the firmament of the Grotto-Heaven within his body, a huge, incomparable eye formed, cold and ruthless, staring at the flow of the light of time below.

He was high above, looking down at the changes in the Grotto-Heaven; regardless of the changing of the world or the wind and rain, he himself remained like a Mirror, unstained by dust, merely watching, a cold bystander.

Observe the Dao of Heaven, and execute the conduct of Heaven.

Not knowing how much time had passed, perhaps the timing was finally right, when suddenly, Yin and Yang surged within the Grotto-Heaven, and thunder rumbled across the sky.

Lightning bolts intertwined, and with every collision, rich vitality was born.

Then, it converged with the Creation Vitality produced by the Xun Wood, scattering over the mountains, rivers, earth, and deep oceans, intertwining to derive all things.

From the initial microorganisms, they continuously derived and evolved; under the flow of the light of time, vegetation grew rapidly, and birds, beasts, fish, and insects were all brought into being.

In the end, it was already full of vitality, with all things competing to flourish.

Clang—

A sound of the Dao resonated; Fang Longye's mind returned, and the time flow of the entire Grotto-Heaven gradually returned to a steady pace.

Nothing is without its limits.

Even within the Grotto-Heaven inside his body, accelerating time consumes an unimaginable amount of mental energy.

Exhausted, he naturally withdrew from this session of cultivation.

As his mind returned, the gains from this cultivation immediately flooded his heart.

Within his sea of consciousness, billions of seal characters rose, spreading out; in an instant, light and shadow dazzled, and the hexagrams changed.

Seeing the various insights into the derivation of all things in the Grotto-Heaven beginning to emerge and collide with one another.

In great abundance, he had gained so, so much.

His Dao attainment advanced greatly.

At the same time, the fundamental Dharma he had been consolidating since stepping into the Immortal Realm—the "Yuanlong Scripture"—was finally perfected for the Golden Immortal stage.

Fang Longye opened his eyes; the depths of his pupils were filled with complex, flowing patterns, and bizarre, kaleidoscopic scenes flickered in and out of existence, beyond description.

He looked at the Grotto-Heaven again.

The ocean surged, its waves shimmering.

It was clear and bright, with white birds swimming on the water, shining brilliantly.

At the very center was a vast expanse of land.

All things grew, vigorously competing to flourish.

Most crucially, there was that sense of profound weightiness rushing toward him.

A single glance gave one a feeling of depth, very solid, very profound.

"Time, space, substance."

Fang Longye's eyes shone with a strange light, and he had his own realization.

The existence, continuation, development, and growth of a world cannot be without the maintenance of these three things.

It is precisely because of the derivation of all things that his Grotto-Heaven can be considered to have stepped onto the right track, having achieved substantial development and possessing infinite possibilities.

He let out a breath, calming his mind.

Next, it was time to "sharpen the blade."

He immediately summoned the Panlong Spear and placed it before him, along with the fragments of the Tiger Soul Blade and the Tengkong Sword.

Fang Longye sighed; he had not wanted to use such a cruel method.

Alas, with the Calamity upon him, in order to have one more reliance, he would have to endure some suffering! "Come!"

Fang Longye immediately took the broken Tengkong Sword into his hand, his finger touching the blade, and immediately cut a wound.

Upon contact with his blood, one could hear a sound like popping beans; fine, dense needles protruded from the blade, piercing into his flesh.

In an instant, blood welled up, staining the pristine broken Tengkong Sword with a layer of blood-red.

This was a blood sacrifice, yet it was not a blood sacrifice.

It is said to be one because it is indeed a method of blood sacrifice. It is said not to be because Fang Longye never expected to rely on this method to control the fragments of the Tiger Soul Blade and the Tengkong Sword.

These two divine objects, one holy and one Demon, could not be controlled even if he were to drain his blood dry.

Fang Longye did this only because he wanted to create more of a connection with them.

So that when the Panlong Spear absorbed their treasure aura and Dao Rhyme, it could exert some leverage against their resistance.

"Even if it is only one part, it is still good."

Fang Longye's gaze narrowed as he circulated his Dharma power; the essence blood within his body shot out, actively soaking the broken sword, and an invisible power began to permeate, flowing without end.

The "Yuanlong Scripture" he had realized was a path of Dual Cultivation of Dharma and body; every time he raised a realm, it was a qualitative change for his true form.

Most importantly, the "Yin and Yang Great Vehicle Dragon Transformation Scripture" he practiced was aimed, in itself, at a transformation of his Bloodline.

By now, having achieved a small measure of success, his essence blood already contained incredible energy.

Merely establishing an inexplicable connection through a blood sacrifice was still something he could withstand.

Before long, he felt a strange connection form with the broken Tengkong Sword in his hand; he still could not activate the power of the broken sword, only exert a slight influence over it.

However, it was enough.

As for the Tiger Soul Blade fragment, Fang Longye picked it up, repeated the same technique for a moment, and then gave up.

There was no helping it; it was too fierce.

This fragment of the fierce weapon was like a gluttonous beast. Fang Longye pondered and estimated that if he wanted to establish a connection like the one with the broken Tengkong Sword, he might be drained dry before succeeding.

Fortunately, with the broken Tengkong Sword in hand, he could somehow use it to exert influence over the other.

Once the preparations were complete, Fang Longye first carved out a small space within his own Grotto-Heaven and reinforced it with layers of barriers.

Then, he cast both the Tengkong Sword fragment and the Tiger Soul Blade fragment into this space.

In an instant, it was like a needle against a whetstone, or a thunderbolt striking a wildfire. The two objects—one righteous and one evil, one Yang and one Yin—immediately clashed.

Fang Longye did not hesitate; he grabbed the Panlong Spear and tossed it into the battlefield of these two divine objects.

On one hand, he allowed the attacks generated by the clash of the two fragments to strike the spear blade, silently tempering himself.

On the other hand, under Fang Longye's manipulation, he secretly used a secret technique to quietly absorb the essence within these two fragments.

Just like this, amidst the tempering, he slowly advanced toward a higher level.
