Chapter 47: Though a Trickle is Small, It Becomes a River (Going Behind the Paywall Announcement)
How should I put it?
My mood right now is very complicated. I am both apprehensive and excited—what I am apprehensive about is that I really didn't expect to go behind the paywall so early. From the moment I started writing and publishing the book until now, it has been 20 days. It is truly too early.
The word count is not high either. Up to now, it is only 125,000 words. Because I am a newcomer on the road, I didn't understand things before, and many of the early chapters were four thousand or three thousand words each. Otherwise, how should I say it, there could have been over fifty chapters by now, which would be better to flip through.
Oh, and I have no stockpile of chapters.
What I am excited about is that, as a newcomer, this is my first time writing a book and my first time experiencing going behind the paywall. Moreover, the results have exceeded my expectations.
Let me report the results of this book! Thanks to everyone's support, after this book went through one round of promotion, it was directly promoted by my editor, Great Qing Hu, skipping levels to the third round of promotion; yes, it went live early this morning on the 30th.
As of now, there are over ten thousand collections and over 1,600 active readers; it just depends on whether the subscriptions collapse after going behind the paywall. If they don't collapse, then in my eyes, the performance of this book is already very good.
Let me talk about the reason for going behind the paywall so early. Actually, I didn't expect it to be this early either. It is probably because after going behind the paywall during the May Day holiday, which is next week, I can continue to apply for the Sanjiang Strong Recommendation! In short, my editor, Great Hu, suggested that I go behind the paywall on May Day, saying that this timing is the best. For this reason, he even specially skipped the book that had just finished one round of promotion to the third round.
I have always believed that professional matters should be left to professional people. I don't understand the rules within this.
Perhaps it is because the Xianxia section has been a bit competitive lately? Newcomers avoiding the sharpness of the great masters? I am not very clear. In short, after hesitating again and again, I decided to go behind the paywall tomorrow.
Hmm, the first day will of course be a ten-thousand-word update~
If I have the ability, I will grind out ten thousand words a day for a few days.
Doing ten thousand words a day for a month, as it looks now, is somewhat difficult. The main thing is that I am writing the book part-time, so it is very hard to have a stockpile. My main job is in copywriting and planning, which also requires writing drafts. And I finally know that just because one's typing speed is fast, it doesn't mean one can write novels quickly.
These are truly not the same concept.
I've been rambling on, saying so much.
I still need to follow the custom and thank everyone; thank you to book friends Kamen Rider decade, Xiaoyao Taichu, Chen Huan, Meng Wang Shen You, Xiu Heavenly Dao, and Qiu Bu De 1916 for their tips. Thank you all for your recommendation votes and monthly tickets! Thank you to my editor, Great Hu, for taking care of this book.
Thank you all for every bit of support for this book: comments, posts, collections, and active reading.
For example, Shu Palace Group of Immortals, if I remember correctly, was the first to comment in the book, letting me, who had just started writing, know that there were living people reading my book.
Just as the title says, though a trickle is small, it becomes a river; though a torch is faint, it can eventually set the wilderness ablaze.
This book reaching this point is inseparable from everyone's support~ Eh, why does it sound like fan-circle talk as I keep speaking?
Are you all my wings? Without you, there would be no better me today? (Sneaky laugh~)
Enough said, back to typing.
In short, I kneel and beg for everyone's continued support! Sincerely, the above.
