Chapter 72: Caught in the Net
Sashana could not understand why she had been discovered so easily again.
She hadn't been discovered at the Municipal Building, yet she was somehow discovered in a theater.
Thinking about it carefully, she had indeed not been cautious enough; whether at the Governor's Mansion or the Municipal Building, she had been a bit too confident.
Throughout her flight, she had only encountered fools; the people of the Wealth Church had little capability when it came to making arrests, and the behavior of the Gold Ties was more like that of merchants than an organization that liked to use force or brains to capture anyone.
In short, she thought it would be easy to obtain some new identification documents in Tana City.
Instead, it seemed even less easy than in other places.
She sped all the way to the mixed-population Factory District, where there were merchants dressed in finery and poor people in simple clothes; she had to find a place without identity requirements to hide as soon as possible.
Fortunately, Tana City itself did not manage this strictly, but in the Factory District, trying to rent a house was simply... annoying.
Three times in a row, coming out of different rental houses, Sashana felt her enthusiasm being worn away bit by bit.
The houses in the Factory District really did not befit the status of this young lady; she had never lived in such poor conditions since she set out.
But she had no other choice.
She didn't dare go to the houses she had rented in the City Center either; having been discovered twice in a row, she really didn't want to take the risk.
And the environment of the Factory District was so poor it made her feel irritable.
Returning to the rented hotel suite, Sarana scratched her head in frustration.
Then she heard the sound of knocking on the door.
With alarm bells ringing in her heart, Sarana did not make a sound, but quietly listened to the movement outside.
Feng Bu'er asked impatiently from the back of the line: "Let's just break in; we've already confirmed with the front desk downstairs that she is inside."
As soon as the words fell, the sound of glass breaking outside was heard; Sarana had clearly sensed the movement outside, so she chose to flee in advance.
"Chase!" The alley was narrow, and Feng had not arranged too many people downstairs in advance; with the movements of the people under him, Sarana would definitely be able to escape at the first opportunity.
If she ran again, she would certainly not be as incautious as she was now.
Besides, if it weren't for those guys like Feng Buxi, Sarana wouldn't have been so easy to track down.
Sarana truly did not understand this time why she was still discovered when she had hidden so well.
She had clearly run to the poor people's gathering place, which was the easiest to hide in; how could she still be discovered by these damned people from the Wealth Church?
"These Awakened run really fast." Standing on the attic, Feng Buxi was watching this cat-and-mouse race together with You'eryuan.
This orphanage located in the Factory District was a property under Andrew's name, and also a place where some players stayed at night.
Of course, it was also opposite that small hotel.
If Sarana hadn't insisted on living opposite this orphanage, she might not have been so easily discovered; after all, the number of players was not yet very large, and if placed in the Factory District, finding Sarana could be said to be looking for a needle in a haystack.
Who could have guessed her luck would be so bad?
She didn't know how many times she would have to pray to the God of Calamity to make her luck improve a little.
The Awakened did indeed run fast enough; Transcendental Power granted them higher physical flexibility and sufficiently strong physical fitness. Although how strong each Awakened was depended on their absorption of Magic Potion and the type of Magic Potion consumed, even the lowest level of awakening could enhance their athletic ability quite a bit.
For example, right now, Sarana had already climbed onto a three-story building, attempting to jump from it to another block.
However, Feng Bu'er could not give her this chance; this period of pursuit had already made this squad leader somewhat hot-headed.
A golden arrow grazed past Sarana, and the woman screamed on the spot, making the eardrums of the people behind her ache.
Subsequently, Sarana also flared up, jumping directly down from the attic and landing in front of Feng Buxi and You'eryuan.
Both of them were a bit stunned.
Is the NPC delivering herself to our door?
Sarana didn't take these two unawakened guys seriously; she turned around to go down the attic stairs, but You'eryuan pounced directly on her.
Feng Buxi even threw out a copper coin, muttering something under his breath.
That copper coin instantly melted and disappeared, and at the same time, Sarana slipped under her feet and took a tumble.
"You are courting death!" Sarana pulled something out from the Magical Item she carried with her, but just as it came out, Feng Buxi covered his eyes.
She was too anxious and had pulled out the clothes she needed to change and wash directly from it.
There were even silk stockings floating in mid-air.
Hearing Feng Bu'er's voice behind her, Sarana hurriedly dropped those clothes and then kicked You'eryuan, who was hugging her thigh, once more.
You'eryuan rolled over, let out a couple of "ouch" sounds, and then grabbed something with his hand.
Sashana, tripped by the silk stockings, got up in a disheveled state, and when she looked up, she saw Feng Bu'er in front of her.
"Run, aren't you very good at escaping?" Feng Bu'er sneered, "Now you should be caught too; our eyes and ears are everywhere in the city, did you really think you could hide in Tana City and mix in a new identity?"
Thinking of the trouble Sarana had caused him, Feng's inner anger rose even higher; no matter how much this person was a noble's child, or how much she was related to political circles, she was not as important as his own status in Tana City.
These past few days, there had been two Transcendental Events in Tana City that were not reported to him, but instead went to other churches!
One was handed over to the War Church, as requested by the noble involved.
The other was handed over to the Wisdom Church, as requested by a student attending school.
This was not a good start; in the past, such matters were all handed over to the Wealth Church.
And now, they had already begun to feel that the Wealth Church's capability was not enough!
Even if these matters did not affect the Wealth Church's ability to make money in Tana City, if it went on for a long time, it was definitely not a good thing for Feng Bu'er!
"Consider yourselves lucky; I shouldn't have come to Tana City in the first place," Sarana said regretfully, "but don't be too self-righteous; I have enough ways to make you leave Tana City."
Heh, leaving might not necessarily be a bad thing, Feng Bu'er pursed his lips, "You had better consider how to speak to the Bishop first; we have already reported your issue, and they will soon send someone to pick you up and take you back."
After speaking, he raised his head and patted Feng Buxi on the shoulder, "You did well; is this your friend?"
"Yes." Feng Buxi responded simply; he did not know many words yet.
