Chapter 234: Battle Again

Kong Sanqiang not only had his physical strength, speed, and defensive power greatly enhanced, but his body also carried Corpse Poison, and he possessed a strong resistance to the Toad's pus.

Unless it was the pus of a Third-grade Toad, the pus of other Toads could barely corrode his skin, which made Kong Sanqiang fearless as he crazily slaughtered the Demon Beasts charging up.

With every Demon Beast he killed, Kong Sanqiang would mutter about avenging his loved ones; he was like a tireless revenge machine, his hands and sharp claws flying up and down, continuously reaping the lives of the Demon Beasts.

Meng Yifan nodded, very satisfied with Kong Sanqiang's combat power; it seemed that using Vampire Essence Blood combined with the Nine Yin Corpse Refining Art could truly create new vampires.

"If I could mass-produce such vampires, wouldn't I be able to rapidly increase the combat power of my subordinates?"

Meng Yifan's eyes lit up, feeling this approach was feasible; vampires had high speed and strong recovery abilities, and as long as their Blood Core remained intact, they were effectively immortal. If they were also equipped with modern weapons and equipment, they would unleash terrifying combat power.

The only regret was that Meng Yifan currently had no more Vampire Essence Blood on hand; he would have to wait until his next return to Earth to take a trip to the West, kill more vampires, and use their Blood Cores to refine Vampire Essence Blood to create vampire warriors similar to Kong Sanqiang.

"Vampires on Earth can turn others into vampires by biting them. I wonder if Kong Sanqiang has this ability. Once the battle is over, I'll find an opportunity to test it."

The battle continued; Liu Sheng, Shen Dahu, Kong Sanqiang, and Meng Yifan, these four Third Grade Experts, each guarded one side of the city wall, leading the soldiers of the Salvation Army and the Imperial Guard Company in a bloody battle against the Demon Beasts.

By now, a large number of Wild Beast corpses had piled up outside all four city walls, forming a slope; the beasts behind could charge all the way to the top of the city wall along this slope, which was very unfavorable for the defense of the soldiers on the wall.

Seeing this situation, Meng Yifan shouted loudly: "Pour the Fire Oil!"

The able-bodied men on the four city walls obeyed the order, and barrels of pre-prepared Fire Oil were poured down along the city walls.

Whether they were Wild Wolves or eagles, they all had thick fur that was very easy to burn, and with the Fire Oil poured down from the city top, it was even easier to ignite.

On the four city walls, Hand Grenades were thrown down one after another; with a boom, the Hand Grenade explosions ignited the Fire Oil, and the slope formed by the Demon Beast corpses suddenly burst into flames.

Those Wolf Demons stepping on the slope to charge upward were instantly engulfed in a sea of fire, their fur stained with Fire Oil, and their entire bodies began to burn.

"Awoo!"

"Roar!"

"Croak!"

The Wolf Demons and Toads, their bodies covered in flames, let out miserable cries as they were burned; they scrambled and crawled, desperate to escape the sea of fire, but the fire was too intense, and most of the Demon Beasts fell on the slope before they could run a few steps.

There were also some Wild Wolves that rushed down the slope while covered in flames, igniting the fur of other Wild Wolves.

The nearby Wild Wolves hurriedly dodged, while the Wild Wolves at the very back were still charging forward due to inertia; they crowded together, even causing a stampede, and a large number of Wild Wolves fell to the ground, only to be trampled into meat paste by countless wolf legs.

This great fire at Luolong County instantly repelled the charge of the entire Monster Army, and the retreating beasts also threw the formation of the Monster Army behind them into total chaos; Lang Jiao was so angry her nose was almost crooked.

The fire was burning, and the air was filled with the smell of roasted meat, the stench of burning excrement, the bloody scent of blood, and the smell of gunpowder smoke after firing; these odors mixed together made one want to vomit.

Great fires were burning outside all four city walls, killing a large number of Wild Beasts and blocking the attacks of the Demon Beasts; no Demon Beast dared to charge through the sea of fire to continue the assault.

The war paused temporarily, and the soldiers were finally able to catch their breath; the wounded soldiers were carried down from the city walls by the medical teams.

The able-bodied men also took the opportunity to replenish defensive supplies like Rolling Stones, logs, and Golden Juice, preparing to continue the battle once the fire stopped.

From the start of the battle until now, the Monster Army had already lost over eight thousand Wild Beasts, while Luolong County had lost seventy-three Salvation Army soldiers, twelve Imperial Guard Company soldiers, and over two hundred able-bodied men participating in the defense.

Being able to achieve such a casualty ratio was largely due to the Flintlocks in the hands of the Salvation Army, the AK47s in the hands of the Imperial Guard Company soldiers, the Hand Grenades, and the soldiers' large number of Elm Cannons, Shenwu Great General Cannons, explosive packs, and Rockets.

Furthermore, experts like Meng Yifan held back the high-level Demon Beasts in the Monster Army, preventing them from slaughtering ordinary soldiers, which was very important.

Because Third-grade Monster Beasts had strong defensive power and high speed, ordinary firearms could no longer cause them much damage.

If not for experts like Meng Yifan blocking the high-level Demon Beasts, they could have easily torn through the soldiers' defensive lines and broken through the entire city.

Judging from the casualty ratio, there was no doubt that the Demon Race army had failed, which made Lang Jiao very furious.

Two days ago, Lang Jiao led the Monster Army to attack Sangmu County, and they had taken the entire city with a loss of only over a thousand Demon Beasts; all the humans in the city were eaten by the Demon Race army.

She had not expected that at Luolong County, despite losing over eight thousand of the Monster Army, they hadn't even occupied a single city wall; such a miserable defeat was something Lang Jiao could not accept.

Through the raging flames, Lang Jiao stared at Meng Yifan on the city wall; she knew this human was the spiritual pillar for everyone in the city, and if she killed him, the people in the city would suffer a mental breakdown and would be unable to resist the Monster Army's attack.

"Capture the bandits by capturing their leader first; this saying in human books is quite reasonable." Lang Jiao muttered; she had already decided that once the fire died down, she would concentrate her forces to kill Meng Yifan first.

The fire outside Luolong City burned for half an hour; during this time, the soldiers had already replenished their weapons and ammunition, and the defensive supplies on the city wall had also been restocked; everyone was high in spirits, gripping their weapons, and preparing to continue the battle.

Lang Jiao roared: "Awoooo!"

"Awoooo! Awoooo! Awoooo!" The Monster Army roared in unison, the beasts' roars shaking the heavens and the earth.

However, the soldiers on the city wall showed no fear; they had already killed over eight thousand of the Monster Army, and they believed that by continuing to fight alongside Meng Yifan, the final victory would surely belong to them.

"Attack the city!" At Lang Jiao's command, the battle began once more, and the thousands-strong Monster Army charged forward, roaring and covering the sky and earth.

Originally, the Demon Race's siege tactic was to use Unranked ordinary Wild Beasts as cannon fodder to charge in front and waste the humans' artillery and ammunition, while Level 1 and Level 2 Demon Beast elites were mixed into the Monster Army to launch attacks on the soldiers on the city wall.

Now, Lang Jiao changed her tactics; she ordered all the Toads to approach the city wall and continuously lob Pus Bombs toward the top, suppressing the soldiers' cannons, Flintlocks, and AK47 Assault Rifles, and then had the Level 2 Demon Beasts form elite squads to raid the weak points in the city wall's defenses.
