Chapter 451: Initial Battle

The vampires grew a pair of bat wings and could fly, but compared to the Eagle Monster Beast, they were far inferior in terms of flight altitude, flight speed, and aerial maneuverability.

This was also the reason the eagle leader dared to initiate an attack; it wanted to wipe out the Vampire Scout first to let the humans know that the Demon Race could not be insulted, and that in front of the Demon Race, humans were merely piles of fresh, delicious food.

"Screech! Screech! Screech!" Fifteen earth-shattering eagle screeches drowned out the taunts and jeers of Zhang Shagen and the others.

Fifteen Eagle Monster Beasts, spreading their twenty to thirty-meter wings, dove down from an altitude of over five hundred meters, their sharp talons reaching toward the Vampire Scouts below.

In terms of body size, the Vampire Scouts were about the same as ordinary humans, while these diving Eagle Monster Beasts were larger than fighter jets on Earth; the size gap between the two sides was enormous, not even on the same level, truly resembling an eagle catching a chick.

Furthermore, there was a huge disparity in strength between the two sides: aside from the eagle leader, which was a Fourth Grade High Rank, all the other Eagle Monster Beasts were Third Grade, while in Kong Sanqiang's scout formation, Kong Sanqiang was a Fourth Grade High Rank, there were four Level 3 Vampires, and the rest were Second Grade Xuegui.

Facing such powerful Eagle Monster Beasts, Kong Sanqiang and the other vampires were not afraid; they did not retreat, nor did they dodge, because given the flight speed of the Eagle Monster Beasts, the vampires simply could not escape.

"Ready!" At Kong Sanqiang's command, the fifteen Second Grade Xuegui scouts raised their AK47 Assault Rifles, while the four Level 3 Vampire scouts shouldered their PF98 120mm Rocket Launchers.

"Rat-tat-tat!" The fifteen AK47 Assault Rifles sprayed out 7.62×39mm bullets; each AK47 magazine held 30 rounds, and these vampires were all firing in full-auto, emptying their magazines at maximum speed; the fifteen AK47 Assault Rifles fired 450 rounds in a short time.

These bullets formed a fan-shaped barrage, covering all the diving Eagle Monster Beasts.

One Third Grade Eagle Monster Beast was quite unlucky, being struck directly in the eagle eye by a 7.62mm bullet; not only was the eye blinded, but the bullet also drilled along the eye socket into its brain, the tumbling, deformed bullet head turning the Eagle Monster Beast's brains into mush.

This Third Grade Eagle Monster Beast died on the spot and plummeted directly from the sky.

The other Eagle Monster Beasts saw the rain of bullets coming and one after another used their iron-hard wings to protect their heads, chests, abdomens, and other vital parts.

However, the power of AK47 bullets is very great; at 200 meters, they can penetrate about 4mm of steel plate, at a distance of 100 meters, they can penetrate about 6mm of steel plate, and within 50 meters, their penetrating power is even stronger, potentially penetrating about 8mm of steel plate.

The Eagle Monster Beasts were diving, so their own speed was already very fast, and combined with gravitational acceleration, colliding head-on with the AK47 Assault Rifle bullets caused the power of the bullets to increase exponentially.

Although the wings of the Third Grade eagles were very hard, under the continuous strikes of the AK47 bullets, they were still beaten until the wings snapped and bled incessantly.

In the sky, Third Grade Eagle Monster Beasts were constantly being pierced in vital parts by bullets, blood spraying across the sky as they fell from above.

The eagle leader grew anxious; it hadn't even caught a vampire yet, and half of its subordinates had already been lost; if they kept diving like this, perhaps by the time they caught the vampires, the Third Grade Eagle Monster Beasts would be completely wiped out.

"Screech!" The eagle leader let out a shrill cry, then all the feathers on its body stood on end and it shot them out violently; hundreds of feathers, like hundreds of sharp arrows, flew toward Kong Sanqiang and the other vampires.

"Hum!" Kong Sanqiang had been prepared; with a wave of his right hand, a palm-sized shield grew in the wind, turning into a massive shield over three hundred meters long and wide, shimmering with earthy yellow light, blocking all the feather arrows.

This Shield Artifact was a Medium Grade Protective Artifact bestowed upon Kong Sanqiang and the others by Meng Yifan; it could grow or shrink and was very convenient to use, capable of blocking the attacks of Fourth Grade monsters as long as there was sufficient energy.

The Eagle Monster Beast dove down, its pair of meter-long sharp talons shimmering with cyan light, and clawed fiercely at Kong Sanqiang's shield.

"Screech! Screech!" Several one-inch-deep claw marks were gouged into the medium-grade shield.

On the Shield Artifact, the earthy yellow light and the cyan light collided with each other, and Kong Sanqiang and the eagle leader fell into a stalemate.

Just at this moment, Kong Sanqiang shouldered a PF98 120mm Rocket Launcher and aimed it at the eagle leader, who was close at hand.

"Whoosh!" A PF98 120mm Rocket was fired.

The eagle leader wanted to dodge, but it was too late; the distance between the two was too close, and this PF98 120mm Rocket was fired almost directly at its face, making it impossible to dodge.

"Boom!" The rocket exploded violently; the eagle leader's body shimmered with a layer of cyan protective barrier that barely blocked the rocket, but it was also frightened into vomiting blood.

"Fire! Blow this bastard to pieces!" At Kong Sanqiang's command, the other four Level 3 Vampires pulled their triggers, and the four PF98 120mm Rocket Launchers fired almost simultaneously.

"Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!" After four violent explosions, the body of the Fourth Grade monster leader was blown to smithereens, dead as could be.

The other surviving Third Grade Eagle Monster Beasts wanted to flee, but Kong Sanqiang had already charged up, grabbed an Eagle Monster Beast in mid-air, and sank his sharp fangs into the Eagle Monster Beast's neck, beginning to drink its blood; he had consumed a massive amount of energy from the previous collision with the Eagle Monster Beast, and now he needed to consume the Eagle Monster Beast's fresh blood to replenish his energy.

The other vampires also swarmed up; if any Eagle Monster Beast wanted to flee, the vampires would use their AK47s to break their wings, then charge up to drink their blood.

The battle began very suddenly and ended very quickly; in almost a single exchange, all fifteen Eagle Monster Beasts were wiped out.

"Well fought!"

"Vampire brothers, well done!"

Zhang Shagen and the other Salvation Army officers and soldiers watched this aerial battle, and seeing their comrades win a complete victory, they all clapped and cheered excitedly.

Meng Yifan also smiled; from this aerial battle, it could be seen that weapons like the AK47 Assault Rifle and the rocket launcher were sufficient to eliminate monsters below Third Grade, and Fourth Grade monsters would also perish if bombarded continuously.

"Demon Race, do you dare come out and fight!" Meng Yifan said in a loud voice.

Zhang Shagen and the other officers and soldiers also shouted along: "Demon Race, do you dare come out and fight!"

"Demon Race, do you dare come out and fight!"

"Demon Race, do you dare come out and fight!"
