Chapter 345: Regarding the Plot of the Rotten Giant Eye
Regarding the Plot of the Rotten Giant Eye
There is a bit too much plot regarding the Liu Moyan, so I will explain the reason for this plot.
First, the titles of the Rotten Liu Moyan, Mother God, Primordial Darkness, etc., have a bit of a Western flavor.
This is something I did intentionally.
But the essence of the Rotten Liu Moyan has already been directly given in the book.
It is the Chaos Demon God hacked to death by Pangu with an axe when he created the world.
The plot of the Rotten Liu Moyan has two functions in the book: one is to expand the boundaries of the Journey to the West world, and the other is to raise the upper limit of the power of the Investiture of the Gods and Journey to the West world.
Expanding the world scope is because this book has more than just the Pangu world.
Actually, from the name "Pangu World," one can also know that since this world has a name, then this world is not the only world.
In the conflict between the Human Emperor Ying Zheng and Western Buddhism, through character dialogue, it was also revealed that "another Great Thousand World" and "west of Mount Lingshan" exist as channels to other Great Thousand Worlds.
The Chaos Demon God is the source of other Great Thousand Worlds.
Second, raise the power upper limit.
I can use a simple mathematical formula to show the power setting in this book.
y=1/x, y equals one over x.
In the x—y coordinate system, it is a hyperbola. If x is a positive number, then only the curve in the first quadrant remains.
That curve is infinitely close to the x-axis and y-axis.
y is the power possessed by an immortal, and x is the "original value" of the power possessed by the immortal.
We all know that Daoism has the saying: "The Dao is born from nothingness, one qi; one produces two, two produces three, three produces all things."
The "one produces two, two produces three, three produces all things" here is energy changing from "omnipotent" to "singular."
As one of the "all things," the Qi Refiner's innate eternal power must not be as comprehensive as "three," right?
The sum of the power of all things is "three," the sum of "three" is "two," and the sum of "two" is "one."
The Celestial Immortal Method in this book, and even the Human Immortal Method, all emphasize the union of life and nature, the balance of water and fire, and merging two into one.
Cultivating immortality is making one's own power closer to the origin, with a smaller "numerical value."
Through cultivating immortality, as one of the "all things," a Qi Refiner can become "three" and possess the power of "three." "Three" is smaller than "ten thousand." From "ten thousand" to "three," that is an immortal!
This kind of power value, I call it the "original value," which is the distance from the original "zero."
A mortal is one of all things, and his original value is "ten thousand."
His power y equals one ten-thousandth.
Through cultivation, he becomes "three," and power y equals one-third.
From ten thousand to three, strength increased by 0.3.
It seems like not much, but what is the difference in magnitude between 0.3 and 0.0001?
The gap between humans and immortals is just that big.
And before becoming an immortal, even if everyone's x-value gap is very large, for example, a mortal is ten thousand, a martial artist cultivating immortal martial arts is one thousand, the y-value gap is not even 0.001.
And supernatural power is a fixed constant.
Real strength y=1/x+A.
A is a constant, which is supernatural power; supernatural power easily becomes a key factor affecting the y-value.
That is to say, among cultivators, there is a gap in realm, but strength may not necessarily match the realm; perhaps someone with a lower realm has stronger supernatural power and wins by the constant A.
Continue cultivation, from three to two, power y equals one-half.
Therefore, after becoming an immortal, the strength improvement brought by realm is not significant. Sun Wukong, at the Golden Immortal level, will also be stung by a Scorpion Spirit who isn't even a True Immortal, causing a big bump and making him howl in pain.
From two to one, power y equals 1.
From now on, power begins to undergo a qualitative change.
From one to 0.1, the change in x-value is less than 1, and power y suddenly increases 10 times, becoming 10.
From 0.1 to 0.01, the change in x-value is less than 0.01, and power y reaches 100 points!
At this time, the supernatural constant A has a very weak influence on strength y.
Continue cultivation, continue to let the x-value approach the original 0, and the increase in power y will become abnormally terrifying.
x is infinitely close to 0, power y equals endless.
Thus, a Saint is born.
The world possesses infinite possibilities, infinite potential, infinite energy.
A Saint possesses endless power, and thus, a Saint can create a world.
But the Saint within the Pangu world clearly cannot compare their original value to Pangu, and perhaps not even to some powerful Chaos Demon Gods.
This is one of the reasons why I wrote the plot of the Rotten Giant Eye, which is to raise the upper limit of power.
Within the Pangu world, the original value x of power can never be smaller than that of a Saint.
The Rotten Giant Eye is not naturally "evil"; its evil nature is reflected in its extremely low original value x, possessing the characteristics of evolving all things, assimilating all things, and eroding all things.
Casting the power of the Three Pure Ones Dao Ancestors into another different world would also be regarded as the evil power of "monsters" by the mainstream of that world.
When the essence of Seeing Xiao Yu Yu's "Great Father Destroyer" was revealed, a reader raised a question: The Great Father Destroyer is just a mere strand of Grandmist Purple Qi, why is Seeing Xiao Yu Yu so arrogant? Grandmist Purple Qi can only make a person a Saint.
Many settings in this book refer to reality.
In reality, how much achievement a person can attain depends heavily on choices and opportunities.
It is not to say that if a person's "essence" is high (smart, strong), they will definitely become a big figure in the future.
Grandmist Purple Qi can indeed only make one a Saint, but becoming a Saint is not the end; the Saint's choice of path can also determine the Saint's final achievement.
Of course, by saying this, I don't mean that the Three Pure Ones' choices were poor.
Later, when we reach the plot related to Saints, everyone will know how terrifying the Three Pure Ones are... Writing this book to now, everyone should have discovered that ancient methods are not necessarily stronger than current methods; the world is changing, and the methods are also changing.
According to the book's settings, from the Three Pure Ones becoming Saints in the Primordial Era to now, their strength has increased countless times. "Saint" is not a fixed value; the world is developing, and their realm and power are also improving.
Including the Jade Emperor Great Yuanshi Tianzun, it is the same.
They are all growing, evolving, and their x-values are always approaching zero, approaching the "original power."
Using numerical examples, at this time, the Jade Emperor Great Yuanshi Tianzun's strength can tear apart ten Saints from the Primordial Era.
Our mortal technological society is constantly developing forward.
The Immortal world has a higher level and higher dimensions, so the development speed will only be faster; it won't be that after ten million years, the Saint's strength remains a fixed value.
If the Saint's strength and realm were fixed, wouldn't it mean that after becoming a Saint, their learning and cultivation abilities are actually inferior to before?
This does not conform to the theory of evolution!
Becoming a higher-level organism, learning ability will only be stronger.
If the Saint's strength were to be fixed, there is only one possibility: closing the country, sealing the world, not contacting the outside world, and not developing outward.
But Daoist thought has always been "I will search up and down," not closing the door to self-satisfaction.
I've digressed.
The existence of the Rotten Giant Eye is not to instantly pull Seeing Xiao Yu Yu's x-value to be infinitely close to 0; the Giant Eye just helps her broaden her horizons.
Now she is still focused on the Celestial Immortal Method, very ignorant.
The Celestial Immortal Method is just... sigh, forget it, I won't spoil the plot.
I just want to say that the plot of the Rotten Giant Eye involves the worldview and the later plot, not just simply giving Seeing Xiao Yu Yu a cheat. ===== CHAPTER 346 =====
