Chapter 743: Annihilating the Bodhisattvas, the Immortal Venerable Flees
To be honest, Elder Yu Chi had already endured enough shock today.
First, while hidden in the sky, she had heard Jin Chan's plotting.
At that moment, she had couldn't help but furrow her brows, her heart rippling with turmoil, which is why the other party spotted the clue.
Although she had long known that the Puti Sect was colluding with demons and monsters, after all, it did not require people from the Sanxian Sect to do this, plus there was the so-called Great Calamity as an excuse...
The Great Calamity cannot be defied.
Everyone simply closed one eye and opened the other, fooling themselves in their hearts, and that was that.
But now, the Puti Sect had even pierced through this layer of window paper, planning to personally strike out at the common people of the mortal world.
Shenxu Laozu had cultivated for many years; reaching this point, she indeed could no longer deceive her Dao heart. What could she use to justify herself against the calamity? For a moment, she felt somewhat reluctant.
But immediately after, she heard of these monks striking out against the True Gods, and furthermore, they intended to kill and slaughter even her and her fellow disciples of the Qunsan Sect.
Could it be that being in Da Nanzhou, they were too far from the Sect Master?
So that they had not truly seen the evolution of this calamity, still facing this matter with the mindset of putting on a show?
Until now, Shenxu Laozu was filled with utter astonishment.
Not only was there internal strife within the three sects, but even those fellow disciples from the same lineage, in order to seize the fortune of this Great Calamity, were actually killing each other?!
Even more exaggerated was that this Dragon-Suppressing and Tiger-Taming Bodhisattva, who had just appeared, seemed in his words... to not regard her and her group of Immortal Venerables and Bodhisattvas as human at all.
"Impudent!"
Jin Chan's face twitched a few times. Since this young man had been brought into the sect by the Thousand-Armed Bodhisattva and took charge of the scripture protection that should have been his own, after making a name for himself in the battle outside the North Flowing River, rumors had spread throughout the sect, mostly the noisy clamor of two tigers fighting, debating which was superior or inferior.
Although he knew the principle that one should not be influenced by others, otherwise one could easily be used, he absolutely would not allow anyone in South Sumeru to challenge his position.
Everyone knew that he, Jin Chan, was a disciple of the Future World Venerable.
But only a very small number of people knew that this Future Buddha held two lineages, among which the one never bestowed upon anyone, the Golden Cicada, was of superior quality, while Jin Chan was of inferior quality.
Like a mortal imperial dynasty, with the position of Crown Prince still vacant, how could one not let the imagination run wild.
At this moment, Shen Yi's words undoubtedly struck a chord deep within him.
So it was not that he was jealous.
This wild cultivator who had joined the path halfway was truly so bold as to vie for his position!
"Stubborn and arrogant! Dare to destroy our grand plan for South Sumeru! Seize him and deliver him to the World-Purifying Bodhisattva for judgment!"
"This time, I will definitely strip you of your Bodhi seat!"
With just two short sentences, Jin Chan had pinned the righteousness of the cause onto Shen Yi's head.
The other Bodhisattvas, though knowing this was a sectarian dispute between the two, after a brief hesitation, even the Master Master Qibao Bodhisattva with the highest cultivation, chose to stand on Jin Chan's side.
Regarding background within the sect, Dragon-Suppressing's foundation was too shallow; regarding conduct and style, he was not only no better than Jin Chan, but appeared even more vicious.
Moreover, since the people of the Sanxian Sect had already learned so much, they absolutely could not let those two escape; under such circumstances, how could they allow Dragon-Suppressing to come out and cause trouble?
"Please surrender and let the World-Purifying Bodhisattva decide."
The Master Master Qibao Bodhisattva bowed slightly, offering a salute to the youth in the distance, and immediately the seven wheels of treasure light surrounding the two Shenxu Laozus directly enveloped him as well.
At the same time, amidst the roaring sounds, the remaining Bodhisattvas all manifested their Dharma bodies.
The towering and solemn Golden Bodies had the blue sky above their heads and stepped upon Gaoshan and Shanhe; holding one hand in a gesture of respect, they slowly looked down from above, their gilded eyes devoid of any emotion of living beings, containing only dense severity.
Low Buddhist sounds spread out, and the rosy light on their bodies gradually merged, forming an insurmountable barrier.
Several Golden Bodies simultaneously extended their other palms, all covering that figure together.
It was like continuous, boundless mountains falling from the sky curtain, blocking all vision and plunging the earth into darkness.
Unlike the Sanxian Sect, which was accustomed to fighting alone, the Puti Sect, from the practitioners up to these high-and-mighty Bodhisattvas, were skilled in profound cooperative techniques; as the number of people increased, their strength grew exponentially.
"Hiss!"
The two Shenxu Laozus, seeing the sky-covering giant palms attack, without a second thought, flew out in a panic, their hearts still trembling with fear.
If not for the sudden appearance of the Dragon-Suppressing and Tiger-Taming Bodhisattva, the ones facing this capture technique right now would have been them.
These monks did not have so many flashy spells and hundred arts, but in terms of purely subduing demons and suppressing evil, they were truly experts.
When they reached the edge of the rosy light, their figures were forced to freeze.
Even though they were not the main targets of these Bodhisattvas, for the time being, they likewise could not break through this prohibition.
"..."
Shenxu Laozu gritted her teeth, turned her head to look back: "If you have no objection, the three of us join hands to fight them; our chances of victory are at least eighty percent!"
If even the two of them found it so difficult, let alone the youth wrapped in the golden giant palm.
If they were picked off one by one by these Bodhisattvas, even with magical treasures protecting them, the hope of escape would likely be very slim.
However, just that one glance made Shenxu Laozu briefly freeze in the sky.
She saw that the several giant palms, leaving no room for movement at all, were strangely suspended in mid-air; the youth within them did not even make any move, simply radiating the same rosy light from his body.
The Master Master Qibao Bodhisattva sensed something was wrong and was about to speak up to warn, but unfortunately it was too late.
She saw Shen Yi lightly wave his sleeve.
In the next instant, the rosy light all over his body suddenly burst forth, carrying boundless momentum, flipping open all the giant palms in the air; several solemn, towering Golden Bodies, like majestic mountains, were actually all shaken back, and even those solid Golden Bodies rippled, showing a hidden trend of dispersing!
Immediately after, Shen Yi slightly clenched his five fingers.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The continuous, massive booming sounds were nearly deafening; amidst the shaking earth and trembling mountains, several unprepared Bodhisattvas, unable to digest the lingering power of that rosy light just now, instinctively looked around in horror.
Every boom was a massive magical artifact landing, no less than a Golden Body.
A giant sword wrapped in Jin Chi flame waves, a treasure bell carrying the surging Wang Yang, a demon-subduing pestle radiating a thick aura, and the coiled dragon staff whipping up wild winds.
They crashed down fiercely, suppressing the four directions.
At the same time, the rosy light filling the sky finally gathered into a vague human silhouette; its form far surpassed the many Golden Body Dharma manifestations before, blocking the blue sky, looking down upon the human world from amidst the white clouds.
A ring of light rose from behind it, slowly suspending itself in the sky curtain, shining together with those four magical artifacts, forming its own world!
"Hah!"
Shenxu Laozu's breathing suddenly grew heavy, and his pupils trembled slightly.
The youth did not speak; he simply responded with actual action.
Not only did the opponent not need to join forces, but he had also enveloped the two of them within this realm of heaven and earth.
If one counts that Demon Venerable, this person actually intends to fight seven opponents alone!
But after sensing the solidity of this realm of heaven and earth, Shenxu Laozu indeed felt no arrogance in Shen Yi at all... Compared to this realm, the rosy light barrier previously cast by several Bodhisattvas working together was as fragile as a thin sheet of paper.
"You..."
Jin Chan Bodhisattva finally came to his senses, and the moment he opened his mouth, he discovered the hoarseness and trembling of his voice, his mouth and throat as dry as if on fire.
Although he was the youngest generation present.
Due to his noble status, his insight was equally remarkable.
With just one glance, he saw how profound and mysterious this technique was.
How is this possible?! When he ascended to Bodhisattva, the other party was still playing around with those fourth-rank cultivators, and even lost the Great Scripture in the end; how could he reach such a level in such a short time?
Who was his master, and what method did he cultivate?
Could there be someone in the world stronger than his own master?
"Do not... do not panic."
Jin Chan forcibly stabilized his mind and spoke to comfort them: "We will combine our efforts to first break this prohibition; with his conduct, Nan Xumi will not tolerate him, and someone will surely step forward to subdue him!"
All are Bodhisattvas of great sects; who doesn't have some trump card?
"..."
Master Master Qibao Bodhisattva looked at the youth not far away and slowly sighed: "You break the formation; this old monk will block him."
Previously, they had discussed background and discussed character.
But they forgot to consider the most important thing.
Who could have expected that the other party would possess such immense power?
As one of the oldest Bodhisattvas in Nan Xumi, at this very moment, only he could block this person for a short while.
"I still remember when you stood before this old monk; your appearance then was vastly different from now."
Master Master Qibao Bodhisattva watched the youth approach step by step, a hint of emotion flashing in his eyes: "If I had known back then that you were so arrogant, I should have struck you dead with one palm when I was at He Mountain."
He could understand that contending for fortune requires decisiveness; the other party indeed possessed the talent and strength to reach the pinnacle, but with Nanzhou not yet broken, to rush into internal strife so hastily was perhaps too much.
"I only hope it is not too late now."
The old monk pressed his palms together again; the seven wheels of treasure light from the sky swept over like a string of pearls, quietly suspending themselves around the two of them.
He did not need to defeat this beast; he only needed to hold out until the prohibition was broken.
Just based on the other party's attempt to kill a disciple of the Future Buddha under such circumstances, Great Self Pure Jing Jing Shi Pusa, even if he did not take his life, would at least strip him of his Dao fruit and expel him from Nan Xumi.
Upon hearing this, Shen Yi rubbed his wrist and said softly: "Thank you, Bodhisattva, for teaching me."
A simple sentence, yet it made Master Master Qibao Bodhisattva suddenly raise his head, his eyes full of disbelief.
He knew that what the other party said at Seven Sages Marsh back then, regarding going to He Mountain, was under the instruction of Thousand-Arm Bodhisattva; logically, at that time, this person had already established a connection with Thousand-Arm Bodhisattva, so why would a mere Jin Lian Technique require him to teach it?
Unless all of this was fake.
But if that were the case, why could the other party, who was still cultivating the Jin Lian Technique a few years ago, now suppress so many third-rank experts with a wave of his hand?
Too many confusions made Master Master Qibao Bodhisattva lose himself in thought for a moment, but what he could understand least was why Shen Yi dared to speak the truth; did he not fear that he would inform Nan Xumi?
The next moment, the fist that fiercely swung down answered Master Master Qibao Bodhisattva's confusion.
His pupils contracted to the size of needle points, and even his breathing came to a halt; unable to speak in time, his whole body instinctively swept backward.
Crack! Crack!
The moment the knuckle-defined fist smashed out, the seven wheels of treasure light did not last even a single breath before shattering completely.
The next moment, the fist silently struck the old monk's chest.
The expression on his face froze, but his body began to scatter like quicksand until it turned into points of Jin Guang, completely vanishing from the human world.
"Hah..."
Jin Chan, who was straining to smash the rosy light, watched Master Master Qibao Bodhisattva fall with his own eyes, and even the entire Dharma Image froze in place.
His eyes bulged wide, fear surging between his brows and eyes, and even his lips began to tremble violently.
With just one punch, he suppressed and killed a Bodhisattva of the Six Six Transformation.
Immediately after, his whole body shook violently.
It was because that figure in the ink-colored robe had already arrived before him.
"I... I will not contend with you anymore!"
"I will return to Nan Xumi immediately; if the calamity does not cease, I will never leave the mountain for the rest of my life, or I... I can also assist the Venerable..."
Jin Chan's mind was in chaos; he did not even know what he was saying in his mouth. He just stared blankly at that Bai Xi and calm face, and was then heavily smashed on the shoulder by a whip kick.
Boom!
Jin Chan's Dharma Image collapsed directly, and his entire figure was knocked backward, crashing into that huge dragon-lizard.
The surging Jinhe swallowed both of them, and within a moment, all signs of life were gone.
On the other side.
Shenxu Laozu, looking at the scene before her with a face ashen as death, felt her hand, which had been patting her storage treasure, tremble wildly.
She had never thought that a one-sided situation like slaughtering pigs and dogs could occur between those of the same realm.
Just then, a chill ran through her whole body because the young man in the distance had slowly turned his gaze back.
"I advise you to put away those little tricks of yours."
Shen Yi shook his head seriously and slowly raised his palm; two streams of light danced at his fingertips.
After clearly seeing the badly damaged Nine Stars Banner and Fire Dragon Chariot, Elder Yu Chi felt as if the entire person had fallen into suffocation, and immediately after, the clear voice that rang in her ears made her scalp go numb.
"Unless you also have a master who took the death blow for you and sent you into the Taixu realm."
Before these two dharma artifacts, the meaning of this sentence could not be more obvious—Shenxu Laozu was dead, Shen Shan Laozu was dead... the only one who had escaped with his life was that Taixu Danhuang.
The young man withdrew his gaze, and his figure erupted into motion once more.
Every strike represented the fall of a Bodhisattva; he strolled as if through an empty realm.
"Quick! Quick!"
Listening to the wails all around, even though Elder Yu Chi was completely unscathed, her spirit was gradually showing signs of collapse.
She finally could not help but let out a low roar toward the person beside her.
"This old man is already fighting with everything he has!"
Shen Shan Laozu gripped the ancient bronze great seal bestowed by Beizhou, and madly smashed it toward the rosy light.
Finally, as a crack appeared within the rosy light, his face showed wild joy, and he grabbed Elder Yu Chi and fiercely darted outside: "Go!"
Almost at the same time.
Shen Yi had also finished off the last Bodhisattva.
He looked at the two fleeing figures and did not pursue; only the long-silent dharma image in the sky finally stretched out an arm.
The seemingly slow motion covered ten thousand li in the blink of an eye.
The broad, thick giant palm instantly covered the two figures, and the endless oppressive force gave these two Laozu a feeling of having no gate to heaven and no path to earth.
Elder Yu Chi's eyes showed despair, and she likewise summoned out the Ten-Li Red Fragrant Satin bestowed by Beizhou; this red silk swelled violently in the wind, like rosy clouds wrapping around the golden giant arm that reached down, making it unable to break free for the moment.
Yet there was not the slightest joy on the faces of the two Laozu.
After personally witnessing the slaughter just now, the two completely did not believe that a single dharma artifact alone could restrain the opponent—it was merely delaying the time until their group's fall.
Sure enough, the red silk soon began to tremble, clearly straining under the burden.
It seemed the giant palm was about to pursue once more.
Just then, a sky-covering indigo-blue figure came from afar, passing through this place as if fleeing for its life, darting toward the direction of the Wilderness!
An equally terrifying pressure swept past.
"Nan Huang!"
Elder Yu Chi's heart skipped a beat; she saw the young man in the distance frown slightly, clearly somewhat surprised, and correspondingly, the golden dharma image in the sky hesitated briefly, finally letting the two of them go, and looked toward the direction where Nan Huang had fled.
"Run—"
Elder Yu Chi finally saw a sliver of hope for survival.
Though she did not know what had happened, Nan Huang's appearance clearly indicated that the attempt on Pozhou had failed.
Now that the Dragon Lizard Demon Sovereign was already dead, if this Subduing Dragon and Taming Tiger Bodhisattva wanted to break through Da Nanzhou again, he would not possibly allow Nan Huang to leave—this might be her only chance!
Thinking of this, Elder Yu Chi did not even dare to look back at the Ten-Li Red Fragrant Satin, directly abandoned the dharma artifact, took Shen Shan Laozu with her, and fled without looking back.
