Chapter 1071

Time is short; we must gather skilled craftsmen to repair the catapults and cannon artillery.

The military camp.

"General Ji Xia, this is our squad leader. We found this outsider craftsman at the city gate today—he's said to be skilled in alchemy. The squad leader thinks he might be useful to you."

The soldier who led them departed after bringing Lin Cheng and Miss Qianhui to a female general named Ji Xia.

"Oh, really?" General Ji Xia, though a woman, wore her battle armor with a striking masculine bearing; her cold gaze flicked over Lin Cheng and Miss Qianhui, then settled on the mechanical wolf beneath Lin Cheng.

She had seen many craftsmen fiddling with all sorts of mechanisms and ironware; she wasn't entirely ignorant.

This thing is rather unusual—what use is it?

"My lord, this mechanical wolf, an alchemical creation, can travel a thousand li per day and moves with great speed—it's one of my proudest works," Lin Cheng explained.
