Chapter 1233

"Of course there are, quite a few indeed."

Hearing this, Miss Qianhui pounced on Lin Cheng like a hungry wolf, her hands immediately reaching for his ring—no doubt the family recipe was hidden inside it.

Miss Qianhui rummaged and playfully wrestled with Lin Cheng, making him truly unable to bear it.

As the saying goes, something about being full and thoughtful, something or other.

Lin Cheng could only restrain himself, telling Miss Qianhui to get off while calmly pulling out paper and pen from the ring.

"It's not in the ring—I'll write it down for you now."

"Good, I want a simple and delicious recipe," Miss Qianhui watched eagerly beside him, wondering what delicious dishes might be in Lin Cheng's family recipe.

"Hmm, simple and delicious... let me think."

Lin Cheng thought of various delicacies from his past life—simple and delicious—probably only burgers, fried chicken, grilled meat, and such.

This world had no burgers or fried chicken; as for grilled meat, the flavor wasn't deep enough, and more importantly, the meat from demonic beasts carried a strong stench—even after death and butchering into usable meat, the fishy odor was hard to remove.

This made Lin Cheng dislike demonic beast meat, unless it was chicken, duck, or beef—he could still accept those.

"Got it—I'll write you some recipes for fried chicken, steak, and such. I hope I can eat them tonight."

As he spoke, Lin Cheng wrote down from memory the recipes for frying chicken, making burgers, and pan-searing steak, filling five full pages.

From whole chickens to wings, legs, and chunks—he detailed every method, especially how to remove the meat's natural fishy odor, and clearly marked the ingredients for burgers: cheese, salad dressing, and tomato sauce recipes.

He also included how to make black pepper sauce for pan-seared steak, and all the seasonings needed for grilled meat.

After finishing, Lin Cheng carefully checked it over, confirmed there were no errors, then handed it to Miss Qianhui.

"Follow this exactly. When making the sauces, you can ask Sister Zhang for help—I'm sure she'll understand what to do once she sees these recipes."

Lin Cheng didn't care whether these recipes would be used by Sister Zhang on her own Jiulou Sect tavern menu—in fact, he hoped they would appear on the Jiulou Sect's menu.

Because the tavern's menu had too few dishes—eat the same few things over and over, he was already tired of them.

He also hoped the Jiulou Sect tavern could recreate some dishes from his past life, so he could see them and remember his former world.

"Alright, I'll take this to Sister Zhang right away," Miss Qianhui excitedly ran off to the kitchen to find her.

Lin Cheng also prepared to return to his room for a nap.

Kitchen.

Ordinary people couldn't enter the kitchen directly, but with Miss Qianhui's status, she could come and go freely—she specifically sought out the busy Sister Zhang, hoping for her help.

"What's wrong, Miss Qianhui?" Sister Zhang asked.

"Sister Zhang, Lin Cheng wants to eat these dishes tonight—can you help me?" Miss Qianhui handed the five pages directly to Sister Zhang, hoping she'd take a look.

"I didn't know Lin Cheng had studied cooking too."

Sister Zhang smiled, took the papers from Miss Qianhui, and began reading slowly—each page surprised her more than the last; this wasn't just study—it was profound mastery.

Especially the detailed recipes for tomato sauce, salad dressing, and black pepper sauce—they were simply astonishing.

She had never heard that tomatoes and eggs could be prepared this way; the method for turning milk into cheese amazed her—milk could have such a long shelf life...

And some of the seasonings—even after managing the tavern kitchen for so many years—she had never heard of.

Now, Lin Cheng had entrusted these recipes to her through Miss Qianhui—his intention was obvious.

Sister Zhang didn't know how to thank Lin Cheng—he had not only helped her reopen the tavern, but also given her tea and these new dish recipes.

Lin Cheng's kindness to her was no less than saving her life; since Miss Qianhui said Lin Cheng wanted these dishes tonight, she must give it her all!

"How is it?" Miss Qianhui asked softly, watching nervously.

"Hmm, these dishes can be made, but they'll need some time to prepare."

She glanced through them quickly—according to the recipes, except for cheese-making, which would take longer, everything else was achievable; she'd need many helpers and had to go to the market to find black pepper.

She vaguely remembered there used to be a stall selling black pepper, and some other seasonings she didn't know—she should ask if they knew anything about them.

"Is there anything I can help with?"

"Perfect—Miss Qianhui, come with me to the market. But first, I need to make some arrangements."

"Yes, Sister Zhang."

Not long after, a new notice was posted at the tavern's entrance, stating that new dishes would be served tonight at half price.

After waking from his nap, Lin Cheng saw the notice at the entrance as he headed to the guild for class.

A smile curled his lips—he looked forward to dinner, and his mood had subtly improved.

Chatting with the coachman about recent events in the city, the carriage quickly arrived at the guild entrance, where a crowd once again gathered around him, escorting him inside.
