Chapter 1272

"I think Your Highness can now sit back and watch the tigers fight, then seize the chance to secretly gather evidence in the shadows." Fan Qinghai, seeing Li Li Li Changan fall into hesitation, could not help but volunteer the suggestion.

"Now that the Crown Prince has gained Lin Cheng's help, he will surely greatly develop the empire's forging industry, thereby letting Lin Cheng's talents be used to improve all sorts of existing facilities for the empire."

By contrast, the Third Imperial Prince's actions have only briefly drawn Your Majesty's gaze; what Your Majesty truly wants is still a wise ruler who can develop the empire!

"You think the Lincheng Society will help Second Brother?" The dazed Li Li Li Changan asked a question he already knew the answer to, wanting to test the depth of Fan Qinghai's insight.

But Fan Qinghai saw straight through Li Li Li Changan's plan and spoke bluntly.

"Your Highness should know that Lin Cheng is no ordinary man; he has his own ambitions. Helping the Crown Prince is also helping himself, so I believe Lin Cheng will certainly agree to assist the Crown Prince."

Hearing these words, Li Li Li Changan not only closed his eyes but also let out a deep breath, somewhere between a sigh and not.

Fan Qinghai's ability had indeed exceeded her expectations, but the more outstanding Fan Qinghai was, the more she had a premonition that Fan Qinghai wanted to use her to accomplish something big.

However…she seemed to have no other choice now, so it could only be this way.

"I'll take your word for it. I'll continue touring the mountains and waters for this period."

"Your Highness is wise."

After that, he changed the subject.

Li Jian brought up the empire's current situation again, and Lin Cheng chimed in casually, though his mind was occupied with what the opening blessing for his new shop should be; whenever a topic he understood came up, he casually transplanted the theories from his previous life.

For example, to develop the economy one must first build roads, develop faster means of transport or more cost-efficient means of transport, and so on.

Li Jian was somewhat puzzled by this,

Lin Cheng then explained to him why roads had to be built: without roads there are no means of transport, but once there are means of transport to ship local resources, rational allocation of resources within the empire can be achieved—for instance, resource allocation can keep prices lower, so that common folk have spare money on hand, which boosts spending power in other industries, thereby driving consumption a second time.
