Chapter 819

But he also took out a string of them, leaning sideways on the ground and eating them one by one, just for fun.

"Immortal art? Are you an immortal?"

Uchiha Madara rarely encountered someone who could speak—and who ate fruits that enhanced the soul—so there was no reason to refuse this.

He finished eating in no time, and now he wanted to know this man's identity and inquire about the state of the mortal world.

Earlier, he had overheard this fellow's conversation with the White Fang of Konoha, but it only mentioned Kakashi's situation—nothing he wanted to know.

But since Kakashi hasn't been harmed yet, that means Obito hasn't acted.

"Immortal? You don't mean the Six Paths Sage, do you?"

"That guy isn't any good, but you probably won't meet him—he's still searching the Pure Land for the reincarnations of the gods he tricked to death. I don't even know if the soul I'm looking for is a reincarnated god—if it is, it may already have fallen into the hands of that big Uchiha Hagoromo. What a nuisance!"

As Lin Cheng spoke, he suddenly remembered something and leapt straight to his feet.

But as he hurried to leave, Uchiha Madara stopped him from going.

"Who are you looking for? If they just died, they'd usually pass through here; if they died long ago, you're too late now."

Uchiha Madara stood before Lin Cheng, blocking his path, and successfully gave him a reason not to rush.

Someone who knows about the Six Paths Sage and speaks of reincarnated gods—this must be clarified.

"He died many, many years ago. If I hadn't been unable to find his corpse, I wouldn't have come to the Pure Land—Uchiha Madara, that bastard, hid his body too well!"

Lin Cheng's expression suddenly turned somewhat despondent; he sat down where he stood, and as he cursed Uchiha Madara, his face twisted oddly—as if he bore a deep grudge against Uchiha Madara.

Upon hearing this, Uchiha Madara across from him grew troubled, for he didn't recognize this man at all, nor did he know what corpse he was referring to.
