Chapter 950

~4 min read 725 words

The Uchiha clan's inevitable annihilation, Uchiha Fujiang's disappearance.

"Sigh!"

With a light sigh, Young Yuanzi had no intention of doing nothing—she refused to wait for the "plot" to correct itself back to its original path!

"Xiao Mei, return to Konoha. I need to know the last surviving member of the Uchiha clan. If possible, find Danzo and have him arrange an identity that lets you get close— I need to know everything about Uchiha Sona."

"Understood, Young Yuanzi."

Placing her most trusted person beside the female lead to relay real-time intelligence was the maximum information source Young Yuanzi could obtain without returning to Konoha.

The first trial run was about to begin, and at this most critical moment, she did not want any mishaps!

Uchiha Fujiang awoke from her coma, instinctively trying to push herself up—only to find her limbs utterly unresponsive.

Before her was a dim, utterly unfamiliar chamber; silence pressed against her ears. After glancing around in daze, Uchiha Fujiang finally realized she had been placed upon a stone bed.

"Oh, you're finally awake?" A woman's delighted voice came from beside her. Only then did Fujiang realize she had not sensed anyone nearby at all. Instinctively, she tried to pull away—but again ignored her current state, resulting in nothing but a futile fish-flip on the stone bed.

Notably, under the dim light, Fujiang could barely make out that the woman wore a strange eye patch—its incantations she had seen before: the exorcism… no, the warding array, used exclusively to seal inauspicious things.

"Still so lively without limbs, Fourth Hokage?" The masked man stepped in at the perfect moment, holding a lit candle in his hand.

"Ugh! What did you do to me?" Unnameable fear spread through her heart.

In the dim candlelight, Uchiha Fujiang saw clearly for the first time since waking: both her hands and arms, up to her shoulders, were gone. Worse still, her legs had vanished below the knees.

If not for the lingering sensations in those missing parts, Fujiang could not imagine what face she would have to show when she returned to Kushina's side.

The masked man paid no further attention to Fujiang's questions. His gaze clearly fixed on the woman who had spoken to Fujiang earlier—his hand held a transparent small jar containing a pair of Sharingan eyes.

Seeing this, Fujiang's heart jolted. Deep down, she already guessed whose eyes these were—surely, after her ambush, Uchiha Fugaku had not survived.

With this realization, Fujiang had begun to suspect the blind woman's identity.

The masked man gently took the woman's hand. As the candle moved closer, Fujiang clearly saw her face—it was indeed Uchiha Fujiang, long missing and presumed dead.

"Once you're here, you won't be running away again, Fourth Hokage." Even though his face was hidden, Fujiang could easily imagine his mood was excellent—clearly, he had noticed her staring at the woman's face.

Fujiang was astonished by the masked man's devotion and "love" toward Uchiha Fujiang—this nearly overturned all her prior assumptions about him.

Uchiha Madara should not feel such emotions toward someone who could be his great-granddaughter. If he merely wanted replacement Sharingan, Uchiha Fujiang should have been dead the day she was kidnapped!

"For all these years, Leaf Anbu searched endlessly for the missing Uchiha Fujiang—always to no avail, even losing at least a dozen Anbu ninja. I never imagined she was still alive."

What surprised Fujiang even more was that Uchiha Fujiang, whose hands had been held by the masked man as she gripped the transparent jar, spoke first—her tone flat, utterly unlike the fiery personality she once had in Konoha.

"She did not kidnap me. I came willingly."

"Do you understand what you're saying, Uchiha Fujiang?" Even without hands or feet, unable to move, barely able to hold her neck in a strained twist.

She locked her gaze on Uchiha Fujiang, knowing that though blind, the woman could feel her stare.

"The last surviving member of the Uchiha clan is probably you."

Perhaps she already knew what Tsutomu had placed in her hands—or perhaps she was weighing something—Uchiha Fujiang hesitated slightly before Fujiang's reply, then emphasized her answer: "Yes, I understand."

This was pure, unambiguous village betrayal. The party involved did not deny it—she even admitted awareness. Now Fujiang finally understood the fate that had befallen the Anbu sent to find Uchiha Fujiang.
