Chapter 77
Tomorrow at 12:05 PM, it will be going live.
Before I knew it, a month had passed; this release was quite unexpected—I had originally thought we could get another round of recommendations.
Actually, this book's performance is significantly better than the previous book's at the same stage, and the prospects are still great.
But there's nothing we can do.
Qidian is currently cracking down hard on fanworks, and with so many original works coming out at the same time, unless the readership is extremely high, we have to make way for originals (wry smile).
Playing the misery card.
Looking at how pitiful I am, readers, please give me a first subscription tomorrow; that way, after going live, we can get recommended and survive—thanks, thanks~~~
Alright, I've finished playing the misery card.
Same old routine.
After going live, I'll still aim for ten thousand words a month first, and I won't make any promises—any random promises are less reliable than just delivering ten thousand words.
As for tomorrow's uploaded chapter.
Starting from chapter five, depending on the situation, there may be additional updates. (Crying, the undercover's ending I haven't finished yet, but don't worry, I will finish it.)
Finally, let's chat a bit about some off-topic things that need to be said.
Actually, writing up to today, to be honest, the results have been quite beyond expectations.
After all, Starting Point's crackdown on fanfiction is not ordinary; Genshin Impact is a very niche fanfiction, wanting to achieve results is very difficult; some editors even reject the manuscript just upon seeing the title, not giving any chance to sign a contract; thanks to Island of Immortals' boss still being willing to take me in.
Actually, back when I started the book.
I once considered making Furina the female lead; at that time Furina's popularity was high, I could ride the wave, but thinking that Fontaine hasn't been fully released yet, I really didn't dare to touch it; being backstabbed would be worse than death.
After passing on this idea, I also considered just writing a female-lead story, transmigrating into a female character from Teyvat, for example transmigrating into Youla, and directly beating up all the Mondstadt folks who scold her.
After all, Starting Point is heavily supporting female-lead stories, with resources tilted in recommendation and traffic, which can to some extent offset the difficulty of Genshin Impact fanfiction in recommendation slots and traffic.
Later I also passed on this idea.
No other special reason, I won't write it, afraid that writing it would disgust myself and readers.
So after going around, I still returned to the original desert farming idea, which led to this book.
Up to now, there are those who scold me, those who praise me, those who say it's toxic, and not a few who say it's good.
In short.
After many ups and downs, we finally reached the moment of deciding life and death.
Please give me another round of first subscriptions~~~
Right.
These days I've seen many people have doubts about the cultivation line; let me also explain it briefly.
Speaking honestly, the world setting of Genshin Impact simply lacks a concrete cultivation system, especially in the desert region where most people rely on combat instinct and experience, with very few engaging in systematic cultivation; wanting to write out a concrete cultivation progression is truly difficult, so I simply made some vague treatments, letting the protagonist's strength directly increase in a stepping-stone manner.
Some also ask why the protagonist doesn't go to Kantisi to learn martial arts, but instead clings to Dixiya's set of wild martial arts.
Actually the reason is very simple.
Because Kantisi is a guardian, after all.
The legitimate descendant of the Red King, how could they possibly pass on their inherited martial arts to the protagonist, an outsider, unless the protagonist is willing to marry into Kantisi's family; otherwise there's basically no chance to learn the guardian's martial arts. (Surely someone will say this isn't impossible either!)
Moreover, in Teyvat's worldview, the power of the gods is greater than anything.
Including the Fatui's top three executives whose strength is clearly comparable to gods, whether they use evil eyes or Visions, those are manifestations of divine power; human cultivation's limits are too high, the upper bound is basically locked.
That's why I designed the protagonist to prepare to go to the Academy to acquire knowledge, treating the improvement of their development progress with the Vision as a way to increase strength.
Alright.
No more words.
See you tomorrow.
Finally, please give a wave of first subscriptions, readers, grant a first subscription, thanks thanks~~~
