Chapter 13: Break Their Three Legs for Me
Clatter—
Just as the six warriors raised their swords and charged, a large crowd suddenly surged out of the adjacent alley.
They wore black suits and glossy top hats, each carrying a short axe that gleamed with cold light. The group was tall and burly, their faces bearing a fierce air, clearly not the kind to be trifled with.
"Brothers!" the leading hulking man shouted, waving his hand, "Charge!"
"Charge!"
Hundreds of Axe Head Gang members surged forward at once, their Opening Mountain Axes flashing coldly in the sunlight. The six warriors were instantly surrounded.
The leading hulking man hurried to Lin Yu's side, respectfully removing his hat: "Boss, I'm Ma San, the leader of these brothers. Whatever orders you have, just say them!"
Lin Yu looked at the broad‑eyebrowed, big‑eyed man with a square face and silently nodded. Ma San clearly looked like someone capable of fighting and brawling, no wonder he became the head of the Axe Head Gang.
"Ma San? Good name," Lin Yu said with a smile. "Then let these Japanese Warriors see how powerful our Axe Head Gang is!"
"Got it!" Ma San grinned, showing his white teeth, "Brothers, strike them to death!"
The six Japanese Warriors were completely stunned.
They had just been pondering how to punish this clueless youngster, when in an instant they were surrounded by hundreds of people. Where did these people come from?
"How... how could this happen..." Wu Tian stared wide‑eyed, his katana trembling in his hand.
They were elite enforcers of the Health Union Association, having roamed Shen City for years, having seen every grand spectacle. Yet this scene before them truly frightened them.
A dense wall of people, all dressed in neat black suits and top hats, each brandishing a gleaming Opening Mountain Axe. The axes flashed coldly in the sun, sending a shiver down anyone's spine.
What unsettled them even more was the aura of these people. Each looked like a ferocious demon, eyes radiating ruthless vigor, unmistakably outlaws.
"Who... who are these people?" a young warrior stammered.
"No idea... never seen so many people..." another warrior's face turned pale.
The six exchanged glances, cold sweat streaming down. How could they know that this seemingly harmless young man could summon so many thugs in an instant, each fully equipped and exuding fierce momentum!
"Baka! What kind of person is this kid?"
"It's over, it's over, we've hit a dead end this time..."
"What do we do? Wu Tian‑san..."
Wu Tian clenched his teeth, cold sweat continuously dripping from his forehead. Even if the six were skilled, facing so many axe‑wielding outlaws left them only a dead end.
At that moment they finally understood why the young man was so brazen, why he dared oppose the Health Union Association. It turned out he had long been prepared, waiting for them to walk into his trap.
"Damn it..." Wu Tian tightened his grip on his katana, "We've been fooled..."
"Brothers, strike them to death!" Ma San ordered.
Hundreds of Axe Head Gang members surged forward at once, their Opening Mountain Axes flashing coldly. The six warriors tried to form a formation, but were swallowed by the crowd.
"Bang!"
A warrior raised his sword, only to have the back of his head struck by an axe head. He staggered, and before he could steady himself, seven or eight Axe Head Gang members closed in.
"Snap!"
"Bang!"
"Boom!"
Fists and kicks, axe heads clashing, instantly battered the warrior into a head‑cowering scramble.
"Baka!" Wu Tian swung his katana, trying to hack down several men to carve a bloody path.
But as soon as he slashed, someone blocked him with an axe. Immediately, a dozen burly men surged forward, beating him savagely.
"You arrogant!"
"You dared run amok in Shen City!"
"Kill these Japanese dogs!"
The Axe Head Gang struck with extreme ruthlessness, each punch landing on flesh, each move drawing blood. Wu Tian's prized katana was knocked away, and he was pinned to the ground and beaten mercilessly.
The fates of the other warriors were no better.
One was kicked from behind, and before he could get up, seven or eight people surrounded him and kicked him hard.
Another tried to flee, but an axe head smashed his knee, sending him kneeling on the spot, then he was surrounded by a crowd and beaten.
Another, though he managed to slash two Axe Head Gang members, was quickly encircled by more, rain of fists and kicks pelting him, beating him into tears.
The youngest warrior was terrified, dropped his katana and tried to run, only to be kicked to the ground, then subjected to a barrage of punches and kicks.
In just a few minutes, the six warriors were battered black‑and‑blue, collapsing on the ground wailing. Their prideful strength was utterly useless against such a mob.
"Boss, how shall we deal with them?" Ma San asked, rubbing his hands.
"I have to assume my post soon, time's tight," Lin Yu glanced at his watch, "Just beat them for an hour, then."
"Oh, right," he added, "Remember to break their three legs, then toss the bodies to the Health Union Association headquarters entrance."
"Three legs?" Ma San scratched his head, confused, "Boss, where did this person get three legs?"
Lin Yu let out a cold laugh, strode forward to Wu Tian.
"Watch this!"
He lifted his foot, aimed at Wu Tian's crotch, and stomped down viciously.
"Ah—!!!"
A pig‑like scream rang through the alley, Wu Tian convulsed in pain, his face contorted.
Ma San finally realized, grinned, "Got it, boss! Brothers, did you all hear? Break the three legs!"
"Understood!"
A knowing snarl erupted from the Axe Head Gang crowd.
The six warriors, hearing this, were terrified to the point of soul‑shaking. Seeing Wu Tian's grim state turned their faces ashen.
"No... don't..."
"Spare me..."
But the only response they got was the rising and falling wails.
—By the way, Ma San, Lin Yu pulled out a cigarette and lit it, —After you finish the business, come find me at the Fourth Operations Bureau, No. 88 Xiafei Road.
—The Fourth Operations Bureau? Ma San's eyes lit up, —Brother, you are......
—You'll know when you get there. Lin Yu patted his shoulder, —Do it well.
—Yes! Brother, don't worry! Ma San respectfully nodded.
Lin Yu stepped out of the alley and flagged a rickshaw by the roadside.
—To No. 88 Xiafei Road.
—Alright! the driver replied, rolled up his sleeves and prepared to set off.
—Ah—!!!
A mournful scream rang from the alley, startling the driver into a stumble.
—What... what's happening? the driver asked nervously.
—Nothing, Lin Yu said calmly, —A few short‑sighted Japanese are getting dealt with.
—Oh...... the driver dared not ask further, and hurriedly pulled the rickshaw away.
In the alley behind, screams like a slaughtered pig rose and fell. Passing pedestrians stopped and stared, yet no one dared look inside.
—It seems to be members of the Health Union Association......
—Shh, don't say any more, let's go quickly......
The rickshaw gradually receded, Lin Yu gazed at the street ahead, a cold smile curling at his mouth.
This is only the beginning; soon, all of Shen City will know that the once‑imperious Health Union Association also has moments of downfall.
