Chapter 20: Sister Qi Lin

~3 min read 528 words

After finishing the meal, Jiang Hao took out his phone.

He logged into OO, scrolled through the contacts list, and soon found his target.

White Rabbit Milk Candy (Note: Sister Qi Lin).

He glanced at Sister Qi Lin's OO, but Jiang Hao did not click directly into it.

Instead, he continued scrolling down, and soon an OO with the note Wang Zhentao came into Jiang Hao's view.

Wang Zhentao, the class monitor during Jiang Hao's high school years; for all three years of high school, he served as class monitor.

He studied media in university and, he heard, now works at a media company.

He heard he's doing well; now he's a team leader, earning nearly ten thousand a month.

Keep in mind, it's only 2012; a monthly salary of ten thousand already counts as high pay.

Most people nowadays earn only three or four thousand a month.

"Are you there?" Clicking into Wang Zhentao's OO, Jiang Hao sent a message.

He originally thought Wang Zhentao would take some time to reply; Jiang Hao was about to put down his phone and organize some data.

Unexpectedly, the other side replied instantly.

"I'm here, old classmate. You suddenly reached out—what's up?" Wang Zhentao was the type with a smooth, adaptable personality; he never lost his temper with anyone.

As class monitor for three years of high school, he did quite well; at least many in the class would follow his organization as monitor.

Wang Zhentao was at the company right now; due to work, he often needed to use a computer in his daily routine.

When Jiang Hao contacted him, he happened to be sitting in front of the computer.

Moreover, due to work requirements, his OO was logged in directly on the computer.

When Jiang Hao sent him a message, Wang Zhentao felt a bit puzzled.

Though they were classmates, their relationship was average.

Their last conversation was five years ago, at high school graduation.

So why would Jiang Hao suddenly want to chat with him?

"I'd like to ask the class monitor for a favor. Of course, I won't let you help for free."

"Oh? A favor? What kind?"

"Can you give me your phone number? It'll be more convenient to talk over the phone for what I have to say." Jiang Hao's message came through.

Wang Zhentao hesitated for a moment, but still sent his number to Jiang Hao.

He figured the other person probably wasn't trying to sell him something.

Not long after the number was sent, the phone rang.

Wang Zhentao stood up from his chair.

He was in the office now, with quite a few company staff nearby; taking the call there wouldn't be appropriate.

Holding his phone, he walked out into the corridor.

Wang Zhentao answered the call.

"Jiang Hao?"

"It's me, old monitor. This time I'm contacting you because I have something I'd like to ask your help with."

"Oh? What kind of help?" Wang Zhentao didn't flatly refuse; he was curious what favor Jiang Hao wanted from him.

After all, he wasn't some big shot.

What favor of Jiang Hao's would require him to specifically seek Wang Zhentao's help?
