Chapter 218: Extra Chapter Four: What If I Turned Into a Little Cat 3

~7 min read 1,288 words

Thinking of this, Su Mian's face grew a little hot; she bit the shirt and jumped down, dragging it all the way to the study door, then pushed it open with her head.

Meow~

She let out a sound, lifted her head to look at him; Si Shi was at the computer looking at data, heard the door being pushed open, and glanced over.

At the doorway, that clump of white fur was struggling to drag an obviously too-large shirt; the fabric left a wrinkled trail on the floor as she bit the hem, taking two steps then pausing, as if checking whether he was watching.

Si Shi's gaze lingered on that shirt for a second.

That was his.

Moreover, it wasn't ordinary clothing; it was one he remembered clearly. Su Mian strained to drag the shirt to the desk's edge, released her mouth, lifted her head to look at him, and pawed at the clothing.

Meow.

She let out another sound, then lifted her paw and pushed the shirt forward a bit; Si Shi didn't speak right away.

The study was quiet, with only the faint hum of the computer fan.

He slowly leaned back in his chair, letting his gaze fall from the shirt onto the cat.

A white Ragdoll cat, its fur blown fluffy and soft, blue eyes, ear tips slightly pink, the freshly washed fur carrying a hint of detergent.

But……

His gaze then returned to the shirt.

This shirt had originally been tucked deep in the wardrobe, not a spot you could just stumble upon.

More importantly, the cat was now sitting beside the shirt, wearing an expression that said 'Hey, look at me.'

Si Shi narrowed his eyes. 'Where did you dig this up from?'

Su Mian immediately lifted her head and meowed.

I took it.

Of course she couldn't say that.

Si Shi fell silent for two seconds, then reached out and lifted the shirt; the fabric still had a bit of cat fur on it.

He lowered his head to look at the cat.

'Did you go into my bedroom?'

Su Mian: '……'

She guiltily averted her gaze, and her tail gave a light flick.

Si Shi stared at her, then suddenly let out a faint laugh—not obvious, but Su Mian heard it; he casually draped the shirt over the chair back, and his gaze returned to her.

'You've got guts.'

Su Mian immediately straightened up. 'Of course, this is my home.'

She meowed again.

Si Shi lowered his head to look at her, then suddenly reached out.

Su Mian thought he was going to flick her forehead again, instinctively shrank back, but his hand stopped under her chin and gave a light scratch.

The Ragdoll cat's instinct betrayed her once again.

Purr——

The familiar engine sound started up again.

Su Mian: '……'

She froze.

Si Shi's hand paused, his eyebrows slightly raised.

'It was the same sound just now.' He said in a light tone.

'You sure know how to enjoy yourself.'

Su Mian, flushed with anger, slapped his hand with a 'pah'.

Si Shi didn't dodge; he lowered his head to look at the puffed-up little cat, a faint smile appearing in his eyes.

Then he said something quite casual.

'Quite like hers.'

Su Mian blinked, her ears perking up.

Si Shi turned his gaze back to the computer screen, his tone returning to calm.

'Same bad temper.'

Su Mian: '?'

She glared at him.

'Who are you saying has a bad temper?'

Si Shi seemed not to notice her expression and kept typing.

After a while, he suddenly said, 'If she knew there was an extra cat at home...'

'She'd probably be very surprised.'

Su Mian froze for a moment, and suddenly felt a strange sensation in her heart.

She slowly sat down, looking at him; Si Shi didn't turn around.

The screen's light fell on his side profile, his outline clean and aloof.

After a while, he added lightly,

'However.'

'She would probably like you.'

Su Mian's tail twitched involuntarily.

She stared at his back, suddenly thinking of something, then stood up and made a 'pah' sound.

The computer screen instantly popped out a bunch of garbled code.

Zhou Yichen's hand stopped; he slowly lowered his head and looked at the White Dumpling stepping on the keyboard.

Su Mian lifted her head to look at him, holding her head high, seeming quite pleased, as if savoring her own clever move.

Seeing that person still silent, she turned her head to look.

She didn't type the words she wanted, and deleted a large chunk of the preceding data.

Doomed.

She jumped off Zhou Yichen's leg in an instant, turned and ran—the Ragdoll cat's run was actually quite silly, a fluffy ball of fur.

Its tail swung behind like a mop, its four paws pat-pat on the floor in a chaotic clatter, mainly because the floor was too slippery to stop, its limbs moving wildly like an untamed animal.

Zhou Yichen froze for a second, then laughed angrily.

"Come back."

Su Mian didn't dare stop; she rushed to the door, found it closed, and had to make a sharp turn to dive under the sofa.

Unfortunately, a hand reached from behind and precisely grabbed her scruff.

The world fell silent.

When the Ragdoll cat's scruff was pinched, its body instantly stiffened instinctively, its four legs hanging in midair, its little tail feebly twitching.

Zhou Yichen lifted her back up, lowered his head, and looked at the culprit.

"You can run pretty well."

Su Mian blinked guiltily.

The next second.

Smack.

A slap landed on her fluffy butt.

It wasn't hard, but it was crisp.

Su Mian's whole cat body stiffened, and she instinctively struggled a bit.

Smack.

Another slap.

"You deleted my data." Zhou Yichen said calmly, "You ran pretty fast too."

Su Mian's tail puffed up in anger as she twisted her body to escape, but he pressed her down with one hand onto his leg, leaving her unable to move.

Smack.

The third slap came down.

The Ragdoll cat's tail suddenly twitched uncontrollably.

Su Mian herself froze.

She just…… was it……

A bit comfortable?

Her body reacted before her mind—her back arched slightly, and her tail slowly rose.

Zhou Yichen's hand stopped.

The air fell silent for a second; he lowered his head and looked at the fluffy little cat on his leg.

The Ragdoll cat seemed to sense something too—its movements suddenly froze, its tail slowly lowering as it pretended nothing had happened.

Zhou Yichen narrowed his eyes, then suddenly chuckled.

It wasn't obvious, but that smile hinted at danger.

He lightly tapped her tail Root with his finger.

Su Mian's whole cat body jerked at once, and Zhou Yichen's voice slowly dropped, sounding a bit wicked.

"You still feel good, right?"

He lightly tapped again.

"Huh?"

The White Dumpling's tail stubbornly lifted a bit.

Zhou Yichen stared at her, as if he'd seen something amusing, his tone carrying a hint of slow, mischievous malice.

"Little troublemaker."

Su Mian gave up struggling completely.

She buried her face in his leg, but her tail honestly stayed raised, occasionally twitching lightly, as if saying "more."

Zhou Yichen didn't strike again.

He lowered his gaze to her, his fingers slowly parting the fur at her tail Root, his fingertips lightly grazing her skin.

Su Mian's whole cat body shuddered.

The little Ragdoll cat lay on his leg, a fluffy ball of fur, its tail not yet fully lowered, its ears slightly pulled back, its blue eyes drifting about, never daring to meet his gaze.

Her guilt was obvious.

Zhou Yichen suddenly felt a bit amused.

He had actually pretty much confirmed it already.

Too many details matched up.
