Chapter 115: Fire Overcomes Water

Seeing Ma Suxuan turn and run, Wang Xuanji felt a weight lift from his heart. If this little girl from the Ma Family could truly withstand the Taiyin Cold Water, then it would have been he himself turning to run.

At this moment, he felt somewhat confident of victory.

This drop of Taiyin Cold Water was something he had obtained from the Taiyin Secret Realm; it contained terrifying Taiyin Essence, and if it were to burst, it could even alter the weather of an entire city.

How could the power within it be something a Small Second Heaven could resist?

He slowly recovered his Original Qi and scanned his surroundings, his mind remaining cautious. As the saying goes, "caution is the parent of safety"; he had to eliminate external dangers to avoid capsizing in the gutter or being ambushed by others.

However, after sweeping the area once, he was somewhat surprised.

There was not the slightest anomaly in the surroundings...

He pondered in his heart: was the person behind this hiding their methods too well for him to detect, or was he being too cautious, seeing enemies in every bush and tree, suspicious and paranoid, treating the very air as an enemy?

Suddenly, he discovered that the drop of Taiyin Cold Water he had shot out was frozen in the Void, unable to advance even a fraction. What was going on? Wang Xuanji frowned, filled with doubt and suspicion.

When the sky full of fire clouds had all been frozen into ice layers and fallen away, no longer obstructing his view, he finally saw clearly what was happening before him: that drop of Taiyin Cold Water had been blocked!?

He saw that what was blocking the Taiyin Cold Water was a Light Orb emitting golden light... no, a fire orb! After observing closely, he discovered a golden flame hidden within, flickering in a hazy mist.

This golden flame had blocked the Taiyin Cold Water!

Wang Xuanji could not help but exclaim, how could this be possible?

Finally, the retreating Ma Suxuan also reacted, noticing that the Taiyin Cold Water was frozen in place and had not flown toward her at all. When she turned and looked closely, her pupils suddenly constricted.

That drop of Taiyin Cold Water.

It had actually been blocked by the Fire Seed of that golden flame!?

She drew a cold breath, feeling it was incredible. She had already tried her best to overestimate that golden flame, even giving it the evaluation: "Not a thing of the mortal world, it should belong to a being of the heavens."

But an evaluation is, after all, just an evaluation, not reality.

Furthermore, since this flame was only a Fire Seed, she had not held high expectations for it; she had simply thrown out all her trump cards and turned to run, not giving Wang Xuanji a single chance.

But now, the performance of the Fire Seed exceeded her imagination.

This was Taiyin Cold Water!

It was formed by the moon radiance scattered by the Taiyin Star in the heavens, then borne by the famous Taiyin Secret Realm on the earth, created through ten thousand years of transformation; it was extremely Yin and extremely cold, capable of freezing the Void.

It could be said that this was the power of the Taiyin Star in the heavens! Even if this was merely a sliver, it was not something a mortal fire could resist! Yet now, this Fire Seed had blocked it...

What did this mean? She dared not think.

But now was not the time to think too much.

She immediately returned, taking advantage of the moment the Taiyin Cold Water and the Sun True Fire Seed were colliding and opposing each other, to confront Wang Xuanji.

Wang Xuanji's expression was ugly; he found it somewhat unacceptable. He had almost lost his life to obtain this drop of Taiyin Cold Water back then, almost remaining frozen there forever.

Yet now, this thing he had obtained through such great hardship.

Was blocked by a flame that had suddenly popped out?

This was equivalent to a player working hard to obtain a +10 Artifact, wanting to use it to bully the novice village, only to find that their Artifact was not even as good as a novice longsword; their mentality simply collapsed.

"What kind of fire is this? Don't tell me this is your Ma Family's Yang Extreme True Flame. If your Ma Family had this kind of ability, the entire Great Li would be yours; why would you be ostracized?"

Slowly calming down, Wang Xuanji asked with some confusion.

So much time had passed.

The Sun True Fire Seed was still in a stalemate with the Taiyin Cold Water.

Ma Suxuan felt a sense of relief.

It seemed the two were evenly matched. She didn't need to worry about the Fire Seed suddenly collapsing, which would force her to flee in a sorry state again.

"I didn't expect you to be able to obtain Taiyin Cold Water."

"However, if you ask what kind of fire this is, I can tell you clearly: this is my Ma Family's Yang Extreme True Flame. As for why it is so strong, you would have to ask my elders."

Ma Suxuan said indifferently, as if she had everything under control.

"Heh, little girl of the Ma Family, do you really take me for a fool?"

Wang Xuanji sneered.

"The way you fled in a panic just now, you likely didn't even know you had such a trump card. Don't tell me your elders didn't tell you when they gave you the trump card; do you think that's possible?"

"It seems this flame is likely a fortuitous encounter you obtained somewhere. What a pity, a pearl cast before swine! You only realize the power of this flame now; if it were in my hands, you would have died by my hand long ago!"

He continued to speak, but before his words had even faded, that drop of Taiyin Cold Water suddenly shook again, erupting with the extremely Yin and cold Taiyin Essence, attempting to use this to freeze the Sun True Fire Seed.

This was Wang Xuanji triggering the Taiyin Cold Water once more; he wanted to launch a sudden attack, directly erupting with the maximum power of the Taiyin Cold Water to completely freeze the Sun True Fire Seed.

Wang Xuanji felt some excitement and greed in his heart.

If he could obtain this terrifying Fire Seed, plus the Taiyin Cold Water, perhaps he could glimpse the ultimate Reason of Yin and Yang, compensate for his own deficiencies, and glimpse the Innate Above.

Even if this method did not work.

It would still be one more means to face an enemy!

Ma Suxuan had long guarded against this move; at the same time the Taiyin Cold Water erupted, she risked the danger of her own Divine Sense being burned by the Sun True Fire and released the Light Orb wrapping the flame.

Without the Light Orb, it directly exited the form of a Fire Seed.

A Sun True Fire manifested in the world, burning the air, the Heaven and Earth Origin Qi, and even the already frozen space thawed, faintly distorting as if the space itself were about to burn.

This flame... how is it possible?!

The re-erupted Taiyin Cold Water was actually still blocked by this flame? This shouldn't be! Although this flame was extremely terrifying and its essence was extremely high, the quantity was truly too small.

Under the suppression of magnitude, this kind of thing shouldn't happen!

At this moment, he suddenly noticed that the surrounding Heaven and Earth Origin Qi was somewhat violent and surging. With a thought, he sensed it slightly, and a sneer appeared in his heart. He had wondered what kind of method it was; so that was it!

He saw him wave his large hand, driving away the surrounding Heaven and Earth Origin Qi.

He directly caused this place to enter a state of Origin Qi vacuum.

After doing this, he looked at Ma Suxuan with mockery.

"Little girl of the Ma Family, now that there isn't even any Heaven and Earth Origin Qi, what will you use to fuel this flame? I see it now; you haven't refined this flame at all, and you simply cannot directly empower it!"

As he spoke, he once again commanded the Taiyin Cold Water to erupt.

The cold air permeated, and the Void froze once more. The Sun True Fire, lacking its primary fuel, immediately teetered, as if buffeted by a strong wind, its form shifting unsteadily as if it would extinguish the next moment.

Ma Suxuan's expression changed; she wanted to summon back the Heaven and Earth Origin Qi she had been driven to expel. However, Wang Xuanji's control over the Heaven and Earth Origin Qi was clearly superior, and she could not summon it back at all.

It seems... it is time to retreat again.

She sighed softly in her heart. She had not refined that flame at all; if her Divine Sense got even a little closer, it would be burned away. She simply could not bolster its power directly like Wang Xuanji.

When it comes down to it, it is only a Fire Seed; the quantity is truly too small.

"Sigh, in the end, I still have to take action."

Li Heng's sighing words reached Ma Suxuan's ears.

Inside Bei'an City, he instructed Meng Lingyun to keep watch, then immediately sat cross-legged on the ground, frantically circulating the Taiyuan Scripture, directly absorbing the surrounding Heaven and Earth Origin Qi for his own use with his Blood Exchange Realm cultivation.

It even caused a vacuum to appear in the surroundings for a time, unable to be replenished.

With the support of the massive Heaven and Earth Origin Qi, he made contact with that Sun True Fire from hundreds of meters high in the air, continuously channeling power to bolster the Sun True Fire.

Boom!

The Sun True Fire instantly flared up, even forming a small golden fire cloud. Originally, it was the cold intent wrapping around the Sun True Fire, but now, it was the fire cloud wrapping around the Taiyin Cold Water.

The offense and defense reversed in an instant, leaving the two Innate Level experts completely stunned.

Ma Suxuan, in particular, was the most affected.

Hearing Li Heng's words, she had wanted to say "don't be reckless." Although you are a heaven-sent talent and will surely glimpse the Innate Level in the future, you are ultimately still in the Blood Exchange Realm; what qualifications do you have to interfere in a battle of the Innate Level?

A casual Origin Qi lock could seal your entire cultivation! A mere bit of Innate pressure could pin you to the spot, unable to rise.

This is the power of the transcendent!

But now, she dared not say such things.

She even felt a bit ashamed... feeling as if she had underestimated him.

Although Wang Xuanji was also extremely shocked, he reacted quickly. He triggered the Taiyin Cold Water again, erupting the Taiyin Essence within it, while simultaneously using his own power to bolster it directly, wanting to instantly overwhelm the Sun True Fire and resolve this boring tug-of-war.

This method was very effective; Li Heng felt a trace of pressure.

An Innate is an Innate after all; even though he practiced the Taiyuan Scripture, his control, utilization, and ability to absorb and bear Heaven and Earth Origin Qi were still inferior to the Innate Level.

"Aunt Xuan, while this fellow is erupting with power, hurry and take back the surrounding Heaven and Earth Origin Qi to supply my flame for burning."

Li Heng's calm words reached Ma Suxuan's ears once again.

Although Ma Suxuan had ten thousand doubts, she realized this was the most urgent matter and hurriedly used her Innate Power, wanting to pull back the Heaven and Earth Origin Qi that had been driven away to supply the Sun True Fire for burning.

The Sun True Fire immediately burned even more vigorously.

Wang Xuanji's expression changed abruptly; what was going on?

You are bolstering the flame on one hand, and you can still pull back the surrounding Heaven and Earth Origin Qi—not even "One Mind Two Uses" is as strong as you! Could it be... is there someone else nearby helping this Ma Family girl?

Realizing this, he immediately opened his mind to search for who it was. But after scanning back and forth, he still did not detect any strange fluctuations. Wang Xuanji could rack his brains and never imagine that the one helping Ma Suxuan turn the tables was merely in the Blood Exchange Realm.

This kind of realm was on his list of things to ignore.

A mere Blood Exchange Realm, not even possessing True Qi, let alone Heaven and Earth Origin Qi, was not worth worrying about.

His face was as gloomy as water, and he immediately realized the situation was untenable. He planned to withdraw immediately to avoid this meaningless consumption of power, thinking it best to run first and make plans later.

However, Li Heng had long since anticipated this possibility from Wang Xuanji.

He directly had Ma Suxuan coordinate, summoning a tide of Heaven and Earth Origin Qi, and combined with the power boost from his own Visualization of the Sun, the Sun True Fire reached its ultimate sublimation and erupted violently.

The massive fire directly engulfed that drop of Taiyin Cold Water!
