Chapter 570: False Dao, True Reality
Without waiting for Li Heng to refuse, Kong Zunzhe struck directly.
"My Dao is plain and unremarkable, nothing more than space; I ask that you, fellow Daoist, do not hesitate to enlighten me."
He spoke calmly, and a strange space manifested, infinitely large and infinitely small, manifesting an Eternal Rhyme, enveloping Li Heng, covering the sky and earth, seemingly impossible to escape.
Li Heng raised his eyebrows and chuckled.
"Fellow Daoist, aren't you being a bit too impatient?"
Kong Zunzhe did not answer, watching as his strange space descended and directly enveloped Li Heng. However, he frowned, feeling somewhat puzzled. Why was this Li Daoren not resisting?
Li Heng was situated within this strange space.
He could clearly perceive that this was truly just a space; it could not be called a World, nor could it be considered a space-time continuum. However, its status, size, and strength were terrifying.
"If you have no other tricks, fellow Daoist, you may concede. You can still turn back now; as long as you yield a little, it will be a happy ending for everyone."
At this moment, Kong Zunzhe's massive face appeared, looking down from above at Li Heng, who was trapped in this strange space, as if looking down at a bird in a cage, his expression indifferent.
"Fellow Daoist, you are rejoicing too soon."
Li Heng shook his head and waved his hand, slashing out with Chaos Sword Qi, enough to destroy the heavens and collapse the Great Dao, intending to cut open this space and return to the Great Void.
But the next moment, the Chaos Sword Qi hit a wall and was bounced back.
The strength of this space was very hard.
Seeing this, Kong Zunzhe laughed loudly.
"Hahaha, fellow Daoist Li, it is useless for you to do that."
Li Heng was not surprised, his expression remaining as usual. Just as Kong Zunzhe said, his Dao was merely the Dao of space, plain and unremarkable compared to some paths with more powerful concepts.
But the Great Dao Road was never primarily about the concept, but about one's own hard strength. Since Kong Zunzhe could rank in the Venerable Realm by relying on such a simple path, he must have some tricks up his sleeve.
As the saying goes, the Great Dao is simple; this is exactly that kind of situation.
And through his probing just now, he finally confirmed that the strength of this space was terrifyingly high, as if it were a natural cage born solely to trap enemies. Therefore, if he were to break this space head-on, it would likely consume quite a bit of effort and be particularly troublesome.
However, if it were not necessary, he did not want to use his own spear to attack another's shield. Thus, as his gaze shifted, he had already thought of other places.
Since this space had high strength and was difficult to break head-on, could he find the loopholes in this space and leave through those gaps?
He released his Divine Sense.
But the next moment, he discovered that the hardness of this space was not only high but also vast, having gone very far on the Infinite Dao and Infinite Staircase. Even with his Divine Sense spread to the maximum, he could not fully investigate this space.
Li Heng frowned; this was getting a bit troublesome.
The space was too hard to break head-on.
The space was too large for him to detect its loopholes.
This Kong Zunzhe was indeed a powerhouse above the Supreme, related to that mysterious Multiverse Alliance; he was truly difficult to deal with.
He was not surprised that he would find himself in such a situation. If even this little trouble could not pose a challenge to him, he would have to doubt the value of this so-called Venerable Realm.
This could not help but give him a headache.
He had, after all, ascended and should have reached the so-called Venerable Realm, yet he was absurdly stumped by the hardness and size of a space.
Was this not a bit of a disgrace to this Venerable Realm?
Li Heng thought of this and suddenly laughed, not caring much anymore. He had just advanced, his foundation was unstable, and coupled with the environment of the external Great Void or the influence of this strange space, it actually caused delusional thoughts to arise?
How interesting.
Perhaps, apart from true Transcendence, there was nothing Absolute? Even the Absolute Dao had a concept of priority; as long as the space was strong enough, it was not strange that it could trap a Venerable.
Although the Sacred had long since transcended space and time, let alone a Venerable.
But this was like a powerhouse who was Eternal and Free in all space and time ascending to the Upper Realm, only to find their cultivation suppressed, unable to even beat a fish. This situation was ridiculous, but it had its own rationality.
After all, being Eternal and Free in all space and time was, at its root, bestowed by the realm to which the powerhouse belonged; it was a definition belonging to that realm. But once one ascended to the Upper Realm and exceeded that realm, that Eternal and Free nature naturally no longer applied.
Perhaps it could be explained this way.
A realm is a benchmark; below the realm is the known that you understand and control. You can be Omniscient and Omnipotent, transcending space and time, creating infinitely overlapping worlds, etc. —these are all easy.
But above the realm is the known that you have not yet controlled, or even the Wuqiong Weizhi that you cannot understand; naturally, you cannot be Omniscient and Omnipotent, and you will be limited by various things.
As for those who think they are forever invincible, Eternal and Free in all space and time, and forever Omniscient and Omnipotent, perhaps they are just blinded by their own realm, unable to know the Unknown above their realm, and can only see the false unknown contained within their own realm?
It is like a famous theory.
The exploration of the Great Dao is endless, and no one can reach the end. If someone thinks they have reached the end and mastered the Great Dao, then this Great Dao must be a fake Dao, and the True Reality is still in the far reaches of the Wuqiong Weizhi.
This can be a fact. Even if it is not a fact or not correct, it can still be a spirit of exploration.
No matter which one it is, it proves that the Venerable Realm is not true Transcendence; the True Reality will still be limited by more powerful things. This is very normal and not worth agonizing over.
Li Heng had an Enlightenment in his heart and pointed a finger out lightly.
Kong Zunzhe, who had been observing Li Heng, suddenly changed his expression, thinking to himself that it was bad. But before he could make a move, his strange space shattered under this plain and unremarkable finger.
Li Heng also returned to the external Great Void.
Kong Zunzhe was stunned, feeling very puzzled and confused.
"Fellow Daoist Li, how did you do it! The Chaos Sword Qi you used to slash earlier couldn't even damage the surface of my space, why could this plain and unremarkable finger do it?!"
Li Heng smiled.
"Nothing else; I simply accepted my ordinariness. Don't you think the Sacred is too noble and needs a mortal to balance it out?"
He looked at Kong Zunzhe and pointed his finger again; invisible ripples surged out and spread rapidly. Kong Zunzhe's expression changed abruptly, and he retreated, fearing that his avatar would touch these invisible ripples.
But the speed at which the invisible ripples spread was unimaginable, and soon they caught up to him, encompassing him within. After being tainted by these invisible ripples, Kong Zunzhe felt that he was undergoing a change.
His supreme status was actually being knocked down! Falling all the way from the noble Sacred, it seemed to be beating him back to his original form, turning him into a mortal!
He was shocked in his heart; what kind of power was this?
