Chapter 677: Causal Deadlock
"How did I guess it?"
Li Heng laughed aloud, took a step forward, and instantly arrived above the entire Lunhui Shengtu. His gaze swept downward, scanning the Great Thousand Worlds; all things and all spirits, everything in this land was within his sight.
At this moment, all living beings on Lunhui Shengtu simultaneously revealed expressions of confusion. They raised their heads in perfect unison, looked toward the sky, met Li Heng's gaze from afar, and then spoke in unison.
"Interesting. Could it be that you guessed it long ago?"
A Diluo also quietly appeared before Li Heng at this time.
"You said it yourself that it was a reincarnation of the self, so didn't that already reveal the answer?" Li Heng said with a half-smile.
The Diluo before him nodded thoughtfully.
"So that's how it is. It was in that regard. I thought you would overlook this piece of information; it seems I underestimated you. Your powers of observation are truly meticulous."
Diluo sighed, confirming Li Heng's statement.
Every living being in the entire Lunhui Shengtu was him. Every person that "Li Heng" had experienced—enemies, friends, family, even lovers, wives, and confidantes—were all Diluo!
Fortunately, Li Heng himself had long been transcendent, unbound by reincarnation. Aside from the fact that that "Li Heng" shared his name and that he had given that "Li Heng" a bit of power, ultimately leading Diluo out in this lifetime,
the rest had little to do with him. He was like someone sitting in front of a computer watching a game character.
Otherwise, he would have been thoroughly disgusted.
This was a world even more like The Truman Show than The Truman Show itself.
"When I was still insignificant, I once had a thought: was it possible that all beings in reincarnation were myself, that there was only one person? Relying on this thought, I completed my own reincarnation."
"I am also Reincarnation itself."
Diluo said calmly.
"An interesting path and idea."
Li Heng nodded and said.
If Diluo's idea were not limited to the scope of reincarnation, this would be thorough pantheism. All is me, I am all; there have never been any enemies or friends, because there has always been only one person: oneself.
"I had many ideas when I first brought you into reincarnation, such as using reincarnation to grind you away, or assimilating and confusing you into a part of me. But unfortunately, I terminated it early because you are very special; this method was fundamentally unworkable."
"I could perceive that if I forcibly initiated the assimilation process, perhaps it wouldn't be you becoming a part of me, but rather me becoming a part of you."
"Then I thought, even if I couldn't assimilate you, I would simply use reincarnation to divide and separate you, creating the concepts of past and present lives, making you no longer yourself. But that also failed; you had already become transcendent."
Diluo said with emotion.
"Regarding the second method, you should have anticipated it long ago."
Li Heng said calmly.
"That's right, anticipated it long ago."
"After all, in these nearly countless reincarnations, that 'Li Heng' never revealed a shred of power related to you, always appearing very ordinary. At that time, I suspected whether this 'Li Heng' had any connection to you at all, and that you had already transcended."
"I thought about ending this meaningless reincarnation right then, but finally, in this lifetime, that 'Li Heng' displayed power identical to yours. So, I took the opportunity to arrange the identity of God King of Reincarnation for him, helping him awaken his power while secretly guiding him to awaken free will, so that you would no longer be you."
"After all, mortals are like that; once they easily obtain great power, they become anxious about gains and losses, thinking there must be some trap behind such power, and they will inevitably be on guard. Even Immortal Gods are the same; I have seen more than once the reincarnated bodies of Immortal Gods deny that they were originally that Immortal God."
Diluo said.
"But I had already jumped out of your schemes long ago."
Li Heng said calmly.
"That's right, this was something I didn't foresee. It made these countless reincarnations a joke. I didn't expect that you could be so strong even as just an avatar."
Diluo sighed immensely.
"But you must still have other methods, otherwise you wouldn't still appear so calm. Moreover, if I'm not mistaken, is reincarnation really such an inconvenient thing? Why can't reincarnation also reincarnate non-living things? For example, every wisp of spiritual energy, every elementary particle, or even the entire Heaven and Earth, nature, and even..."
Li Heng's words were somewhat "imaginative."
Hearing this, Diluo's expression became increasingly subtle.
"Fellow Daoist Li, you don't need to say any more. It is indeed as you said: the entire Lunhui Shengtu is myself, including every grain of soil, every wisp of spiritual energy, the endless immortals and demons, and the sun, moon, and stars of Heaven and Earth are all myself."
Li Heng looked downward and saw the entire Lunhui Shengtu, this endless continent, slowly open a pair of huge eyes, calmly meeting his gaze.
"Of course I must continue. Following this line of thought, what is outside Lunhui Shengtu might also be you, such as that Reincarnation Era you lead, isn't it?"
Li Heng said with a smile.
"Fellow Daoist, you are being a bit insane now. I am not some madman of the Dao; how could I assimilate everyone and everything into a part of myself?"
Diluo frowned and said with some dissatisfaction.
He felt he had been insulted.
"Who knows?" Li Heng said noncommittally.
"It seems that after these endless reincarnations, Fellow Daoist's spirit truly hasn't changed at all. I suppose we cannot continue this pleasant chat. Since that is the case, we must end it quickly."
He said with a sigh, and then spoke again.
"Li Heng."
Heaven and Earth, sun and moon, plants, beasts, commoners, cultivators, emperors, immortals and demons—everything simultaneously spoke, uttering these two words. The sound echoed endlessly throughout Lunhui Shengtu.
Subsequently, the sound of metal clashing rang out in the Void.
Chains of Causality extended from the Void, tracing various profound trajectories of the Great Dao, breaking through time and space, bypassing Fate and Causality, and slithering toward Li Heng like venomous snakes.
"Causal methods?" Li Heng asked calmly.
"Since Fellow Daoist is transcendent, you should be able to see the Causal Chain that appeared when that first life was named Li Heng. Isn't it self-evident? Naturally, it is a Causal method."
Diluo replied calmly.
"A useless gesture. He is not my past or present life, not even an avatar; he can only be called a namesake."
Li Heng shook his head and said.
"Fellow Daoist is joking. If Causal methods could only be activated using true causality, then cultivators of the Dao of Causality would have died out long ago. I say he is Li Heng, so he is Li Heng."
Diluo smiled, and the Causal Chains closed in on Li Heng.
That "Li Heng" had reincarnated nearly infinite times throughout the entire Lunhui Shengtu, and had long since been tainted with heavy Causality in the dark.
Furthermore, everything within the entire Lunhui Shengtu, and all the various events and figures that Li Heng experienced, were manifestations of the Emperor Fall, and the Causality they were tainted with was even more terrifying, reaching an unimaginable degree.
It can be said,
this is a dead end of Causality, created by countless cycles of Reincarnation and triggered by a top-tier powerhouse like the Emperor Fall who can wield the Great Void Power!
