Chapter 829: The Unfathomable Difficulty
"Hmm, you have indeed come over, but then what?"
"Can you enter?"
Seeing this situation, Zui Daoren's eyelids twitched involuntarily. However, he quickly calmed down, took a sip of wine, and asked calmly.
Of course, he was still somewhat surprised in his heart.
As expected of the outer-universe, it truly exceeds common Reason.
Clearly, he looked as if he had not reached the level of their lineage for ascending to Daluo Heaven, yet he could cross the barrier and come to their side? But is this ultimately this person's power, or is there a gaze watching?
"Enter?"
Li Heng frowned; he immediately understood what Zui Daoren was talking about—it meant thoroughly entering the World and the space-time where Zui Daoren was located.
But after trying once, he found no way to do it.
"I cannot."
He stated the current situation quite readily.
"That is correct. The stage is the number where all Causality blends and manifests; only after entering the stage does everything have meaning. If you have not entered, even if you have come over, it is of no great use."
Zui Daoren said with a smile.
"Since it is a stage, then who is it for to watch?"
The word "stage" appeared repeatedly, and Li Heng became curious.
"I don't know; it is just a word. You can change it to another word. Of course, if you insist on an answer, one could say it is for the sentient beings to watch, for the gazes in the dark to watch—nothing more."
Zui Daoren shook his head.
"You are being too vague, you riddle-monger."
Li Heng shook his head; riddle-mongers exist everywhere, it seems.
"Otherwise? Do you expect me to explain it more clearly to you, an outsider? That won't do. The more clearly it is stated, the deeper the entanglement of Causality, and the faster the speed of entry will be, which will cause the stages of both sides to collide, ultimately leading to mutual destruction."
"Just like how I can sense that heavy outer-universe Causality on you; it is as if your every move would stir up all the ripples of your outer-universe, making it all the more necessary to be careful and cautious."
Hearing these words, Li Heng's face was full of helplessness.
Is this being unwelcome by his homeland?
He had just tried using Source Power and discovered that if he used enough Source Power, it seemed he really could forcibly enter and return to his homeland. But upon hearing Zui Daoren's words, he began to hesitate again—he couldn't bring disaster to his homeland, could he?
Especially since he still had that pitch-black, writhing mark on him.
"If you originally came from our side, there is no need to be too sad. According to predictions, the possibility of entry might exist on our side, at which point you will be able to return to your homeland."
Seeing Li Heng's expression, Zui Daoren offered some comfort.
This piqued Li Heng's curiosity.
"What happens if you enter? Do the two stages merge? Come to think of it, it is interesting. My side now should be called the Great Void, which claims to contain everything. If you were to enter and merge, wouldn't you then be contained by the Great Void?"
Li Heng then clarified the definition and standard of the Great Void.
After listening, Zui Daoren nodded directly.
"Not bad. According to the standards on your side, we are indeed contained by the so-called Great Void. However, everything is relative. According to the standards on our side, the Great Void on your side would instead be beneath Daluo Heaven."
"Oh, that's not right either. Your side is suspected to be the Main Stage. As the saying goes, when the time comes, Heaven and Earth provide all the force; perhaps it might not be suppressed by you... Wait, could it really be contained?"
"It is strange. Since it would lead to such a situation, why would those Heavenly Venerables, Great Sages, supreme deities, and Multiverse Civilizations choose to engage with your side? Isn't this asking for trouble?"
Zui Daoren muttered gloomily.
"What exactly is the Main Stage? Is it more special than an ordinary stage?"
Li Heng continued to ask.
"It is indeed special. The Main Stage seems to receive some kind of blessing; you could describe it with Luck. When the time comes, Heaven and Earth provide all the force—it is simply unstoppable. However, the status of the Main Stage is generally not Eternal; it will disappear after a period of time."
"Wait, could it be that when we truly enter your side, your Main Stage status has already disappeared? Otherwise, I cannot understand why those fellows would go looking for abuse."
Zui Daoren explained, then suddenly thought of a point and said.
"You can even calculate when the Main Stage status will disappear?" Li Heng was somewhat surprised.
"I certainly cannot. As for whether other fellows can, I do not know. I am just a guard of the border; I do not get involved in the fights between the ruthless people on our side."
Zui Daoren waved his hand.
Li Heng immediately fell into silence.
Did he not learn much useful information?
Although, if what this Zui Daoren said is correct, learning useful information would actually be the mistake.
But the questions that should be asked must still be asked.
"Do you know the origin of those Calamity monsters? And the means to resolve those Calamities and monsters?"
Li Heng inquired.
"Didn't I just say? I will not answer such specific questions. Besides, I truly do not know. In any case, we do not have so-called Calamities and monsters on our side."
Zui Daoren indicated he was not concerned.
"Are you not afraid that these things will suddenly appear on your side?"
Li Heng said.
"What do we have to be afraid of? The border is still there... Wait!"
Zui Daoren was first indifferent, then seemed to think of something, frowned, and his expression became very serious.
"Beyond the Great Void on your side, there is also the so-called Wuqiong Weizhi, right?" He thought for a moment and asked Li Heng.
"That is correct." Li Heng nodded.
"Then, is Wuqiong Weizhi and the Great Void, which symbolizes the known to you, in a binary opposition, just like our Yin and Yang, or the good and evil of the neighboring pantheon?"
"I am not sure about this either."
Li Heng shook his head.
"At first, I truly thought Wuqiong Weizhi and the Great Void were binary opposites, a system of Dualism, but later I discovered that does not seem to be the case. Because Wuqiong Weizhi is even more powerful than the Great Void; in the face of the Unknown, the known counts for nothing."
"Is that so? Then that is troublesome."
Zui Daoren gulped down several mouthfuls of wine, his expression somewhat helpless.
"No wonder they say your side is the Main Stage; so the situation is this unique? I think I understand now: your stage might not even have a boundary of self-isolation, or perhaps this is the price of becoming the Main Stage? That the boundary was cancelled?"
"Therefore, this leads to your stage and the area outside the stage being in constant contact and fusion. I just thought the known and unknown on your side belonged to the same system, both within one stage. But thinking about it now, perhaps Wuqiong Weizhi is not within your stage, but has always symbolized what is outside the stage."
"In short, the essence of this Wuqiong Weizhi is not a state unique to your stage, but truly symbolizes the Unknown, and is universal to all stages. And the Disaster and monsters you must resist come from the true Unknown!"
"What kind of son-of-a-bitch immeasurable hell difficulty is this?"
Zui Daoren cursed.
