Chapter 287: The Bizarre Defensive Frontline of the Dimensional Zigong

~7 min read 1,237 words

Lín Jìn and Ling Yue were locked in a fierce battle with a mysterious crowd in the barren desert, yet they knew deep down that it was merely an interlude in their long journey to thwart the Observer's plot. After the fierce fight, when the last enemy fell, the surroundings fell silent again, only the raging wind howled, whipping the sand into a frenzy.

"This place feels odd, as if it deliberately blocks us," Ling Yue said, wiping sweat from her forehead and scanning the surroundings warily.

Lín Jìn nodded slightly, his gaze deep, "The Observer won't easily let us approach the truth; these obstructions may mean we are getting closer to their core conspiracy."

At that moment, the sand beneath their feet shook violently, and massive fissures spread out like spider webs. Lín Jìn and Ling Yue hurried back, only to see a powerful suction surge from the cracks; before they could react further, the force dragged them harshly underground.

Flickering light surrounded them, and when they cleared their vision, they found themselves in a strange space. The illumination was dim, massive pipelines crisscrossed, emitting a faint glow like the innards of a huge, mysterious organism. Not far away, a main umbilical cord spanned the area, but this time its end seemed to connect to a gigantic, misty‑lit door, behind which a vague, immense unknown power seeped.

"Could this be the entrance to the Observer's Dimensional Zigong?" Lín Jìn stared at the door, a resolute glint flashing in his eyes.

Ling Yue inhaled deeply, gripping the solid sword formed from condensed milk, "Whatever it is, we must break through."

The two moved slowly along the main umbilical cord, the surrounding air growing heavier, as if countless eyes were watching them from the darkness. As they neared the door, an invisible pressure slammed into them, making their movements increasingly difficult.

Finally, they reached the door. It opened slowly, a blinding beam burst forth, and when the light faded, a massive figure loomed before them. It was a ten‑thousand‑fold enlarged Lin Li Crystallization Entity, like a gigantic crystal sculpture, exuding a cold, powerful aura—the materialized logical Firewall.

Lín Jìn and Ling Yue stared in shock at the colossal being, a swirl of emotions churning within them. Lin Li's form appearing this way seemed like the Observer's mockery of them.

"This is the Observer's tactic, trying to shake our will with Lin Li's image," Lín Jìn gritted his teeth, clutching the Abyss Return Ruler, attempting to dispel the tangled feelings inside.

The massive Lin Li Crystallization Entity stirred; its movements were slow yet powerful. A gigantic crystallized arm swung toward Lín Jìn and Ling Yue, generating a gust of wind. They darted to the sides, the arm sweeping past their bodies, slamming into the ground, instantly cracking the earth and forming a huge pit.

"The Firewall's power is too great; a frontal clash won't work," Ling Yue shouted, simultaneously controlling the Mechanical Uterus to launch a barrage of energy bolts at the Crystallization Entity. The bolts struck, flashing brilliantly, but left only shallow marks on its surface.

Lín Jìn furrowed his brow, dodging the Entity's attacks while pondering a strategy. He noticed that despite its astonishing power, the Entity moved relatively slowly, and each strike was preceded by a clear motion cue.

"Ling Yue, we must seize the gaps in its attacks and target its weak points," Lín Jìn shouted, timing the Entity's next strike, his form flashing as he lunged toward it. The Abyss Return Ruler in his hand blazed, thrust toward the Entity's leg.

The Abyss Return Ruler pierced the Entity's leg but met something as hard as rock, entering only a small depth. The Entity winced, and its other arm swung swiftly at Lín Jìn. He quickly withdrew the ruler and leapt backward to dodge.

Ling Yue seized the moment, inserting the milk‑condensed solid sword into the Mechanical Uterus's energy amplification device, its blade glowing intensely. She gripped the hilt with both hands and hurled it at the Entity's chest. The sword transformed into a streak of light, racing toward the Entity.

The Entity sensed danger and tried to evade, but its massive size caused a brief delay. The solid sword struck its chest, erupting in a burst of intense light. A tiny fissure opened, black energy spilling from it.

"It's working, keep attacking!" Lín Jìn called, charging at the Entity again. He and Ling Yue coordinated, exploiting the Entity's sluggish movements to launch continuous assaults.

However, the Entity seemed to have detected their tactics and altered its attacks. It no longer relied solely on its arms; instead, it emitted streams of crystallized light from various parts of its body, raining toward Lín Jìn and Ling Yue.

Lín Jìn and Ling Yue found themselves in a bind, struggling to dodge the crystallized beams, which still grazed them, leaving wounds. Blood stained their garments, yet neither showed any sign of retreat.

"Continuing like this won't work; we must find a more effective method," Ling Yue said, her gaze reflecting both determination and fatigue.

Lín Jìn stared at the Entity, thoughts racing. Suddenly, he recalled past experiences with Lin Li and her unique grasp of data and logic.

"Ling Yue, this is a logical Firewall; perhaps we can exploit a logical loophole to attack it. Lin Li once studied logical structures deeply; let's approach it from that angle," Lín Jìn said.

Ling Yue's eyes lit up, "Alright, I'll use the Mechanical Uterus to analyze its logical structure; you find the opening to strike."

Ling Yue swiftly operated the Mechanical Uterus, conducting a comprehensive scan and logical analysis of the Entity. The Mechanical Uterus emitted blue beams that enveloped the Entity. As the analysis deepened, Ling Yue's complexion grew solemn.

"The logical structure is extremely complex, but I've found a brief loophole in its energy‑conversion logic; the window is fleeting, lasting only an instant," Ling Yue said.

Lín Jìn inhaled deeply, "Tell me when it appears, and I'll seize it."

Ling Yue stared intently at the Mechanical Uterus's screen, monitoring the timing of the logical loophole. Finally, she shouted, "Lín Jìn, three seconds, get ready!"

Lín Jìn gripped the Abyss Return Ruler tightly, muscles tensed, his eyes fixed on the Entity.

"One… two… now!" Ling Yue shouted loudly.

Lín Jìn moved like lightning, and at the instant the Entity's energy‑conversion logical loophole appeared, he surged forward. He poured all his strength into the Abyss Return Ruler, thrusting it with full force at the Entity's energy core.

The Abyss Return Ruler, bearing immense power, followed the logical loophole and pierced deep into the Entity. The Entity emitted a deep roar, its body shaking violently. Black energy surged wildly, and its form began to destabilize.

Seeing this, Ling Yue instantly recalled the milk‑condensed solid sword. She reinserted it into the Mechanical Uterus's energy amplification device, then hurled it at the Entity. The sword flew like an arrow straight toward the Entity's energy core.

As the sword pierced, the Entity's energy core erupted in a dazzling flash, followed by a deafening boom. The Entity's body cracked open with countless fissures, ultimately exploding and collapsing into countless crystallized fragments scattered across the ground.

Lín Jìn and Ling Yue looked at the scene, exhausted yet relieved. However, they knew this was only the first barrier to entering the Observer's Dimensional Zigong; beyond the door, within the Dimensional Zigong, more unknown dangers surely awaited them…
