Chapter 7

~6 min read 1,011 words

The snow across all heavens stopped.

All the drifting ice crystals froze in midair, refracting the reflections of the Seventy-Two Star Remnant Ice Coffins. Lín Jìn stood at the edge of the Time-Space Rift, his right eye's Coffin Earring melting, and the instant the icy water seeped into his eye socket, he saw the world's 'skeleton'—countless Ice Coffin Chains piercing through a hundred million planes, and at the chains' ends lay seventy-twofold projections of the same coffin.

"Finally, we've come to this point?"

The Bing Guan Nu's voice came from each ice crystal; her true form appeared fully for the first time: no coffin, no chill, she wore plain robes and bare feet, stepping upon the Star Remains. The Frost Hair twined around her fingertips was tied to Lín Jìn's beating heart, as well as to eight other already withered Coffin Feeder hearts.

Lín Jìn's Reverse Coffin Seal boiled in his palm, yet it could not scorch that strand of hair in the slightest: 'You are the cancer of all heavens.'

The woman gave a light laugh, tapping the void with her toe. The frozen ice crystals suddenly shattered and reassembled into scene after scene of buried history:

**First Epoch·Original Coffin**

When chaos was still undifferentiated, she had been the embodiment of the 'Creation Law', devouring excess civilizations to curb cosmic entropy. Until one day, she discovered that the worlds she consumed would turn into ice coffins, within which more violent new universes were born—she was the source of entropy increase.

**Third Epoch·Coffin Burier Origin**

To stop her own proliferation, she split her true form into seventy-two Star Remnant Ice Coffins and created the Coffin Burier Clan to guard the coffins. But the clan's leader glimpsed the truth, using the bloodline of the entire clan as sacrifice, sealing her last trace of lucid consciousness within the Northern Wasteland Ice Coffin.

**Fifth Epoch·Coffin Keeper Conspiracy**

The imprisoned she began weaving lies, tampering with the 'Zhu Tian Burial Divine Scripture', luring the strong to cultivate as 'Coffin Feeders'. Whenever a Coffin Feeder breaks through the Burial Heaven Realm, they are actually using their own Destiny Pattern to corrode the seal—Lín Jìn is the ninth, and also the final key.

"'Your so-called 'defying heaven to change fate' is merely tearing open my final shackle for me.'"

The woman raised her hand to gently stroke Lín Jìn's cheek, her fingertip tracing his right eye's Coffin Earring, 'Even the thought of "shredding cultivation" is something I etched into your soul.'

Lín Jìn suddenly laughed.

He crushed that withered Coffin Feeder heart, and in the fragments emerged a tampered memory scene:

During the Bing Guan Nu's first ten thousand years curled up in the Northern Wasteland Ice Coffin, there once was a boy who chiseled through the glacier and pressed his palm against the coffin lid.

—that was the Grand Elder of the Temple in his youth.

"'What you've tampered with is not my destiny, but everyone's memory.'"

Lín Jìn's Reverse Coffin Seal suddenly pierced his own heart, pulling out the Frost White Hair twined around it, 'The ninth Coffin Feeder was never me; it was that old fool who thought he controlled everything.'

Time and space began to collapse.

The woman's pupils trembled for the first time. She saw deep within Lín Jìn's heart a 'false coffin' coalesced from his Reverse Coffin Seal—the true ninth coffin was actually a counterfeit he forged in the Ice Prison, using the Grand Elder's Destiny Pattern!

"'You deliberately let me devour a false coffin…' the woman's surrounding Star Remains began to disintegrate, 'just for this backlash?'"

"No."

Lín Jìn pulled the Frost White Hair to draw her near, icy-blue blood seeping from the corner of his lips, 'It's to see clearly what you've desperately hidden.'

The instant the hair snapped, their souls were forcibly linked in shared perception.

**Ultimate Truth**

The Bing Guan Nu never lost control. The so-called 'entropy incarnation' was merely a lie she fabricated; her true purpose was to oppose the genuine destroyers of worlds—the 'Dimension Worms' born as the universe expands. She consumed civilizations to seal them within ice coffins before the worms arrived, preserving them. And the Coffin Feeder's destiny was meant to be the guardian of the ice civilization.

But a hundred thousand years ago, the Dimension Worms contaminated the Coffin Burier Clan's leader. They tampered with the 'Zhu Tian Burial Divine Scripture', twisting 'guardianship' into 'devouring', and smeared the Bing Guan Nu as the source of calamity. She had no choice but to play along, using the resentment of nine Coffin Feeders to reverse‑mark the worms' locations.

"'Why……didn't you say sooner…' Lín Jìn's Reverse Coffin Seal shattered in the shared perception."

The Xīnhé in the woman's eyes dimmed: 'A contaminated world cannot bear the truth; only the pure hatred of a Coffin Feeder is enough to deceive the Dimension Worms' monitoring.'

Her body suddenly turned ethereal; seventy‑two Star Remnant Ice Coffins flew in from all heavens and ten thousand realms, and the civilizational fire seeds sealed within them poured out. Lín Jìn's right‑eye Coffin Earring melted completely, revealing the core 'Inverse Scale'—the final shard of pure law that had been stripped from her before she was contaminated.

"'Now, you are the new coffin.'"

Her silhouette dissipated in the firelight, her voice echoing among the Star Remains: 'Hide these fire seeds well, before the Dimension Worms find you…'

All heavens and ten thousand realms began to recover.

Lín Jìn stood amidst the ruins, beneath his feet the Frost White Hair left behind by the dissipating Bing Guan Nu. He picked up the hair and wound it around his wrist, then looked up to see the seventy‑two ice coffins turn into stars, each star's speck hiding a scarlet compound eye—the Dimension Worms have arrived.

In his right eye, the newly condensed Burial Star Pupil surfaced, there appeared the Bing Guan Nu's final memory scene:

At the very beginning, The Girl, still uncontaminated and barefoot, sat upon the Ice Coffin, humming Zànggē toward a cerulean planet.

On that planet, the dinosaurs had not yet gone extinct.
