Chapter 198: Proposing Marriage
Lingyun did not stay at the Su Family for long; he merely chatted with them about the situation in that small lake before leaving.
"Third Sister, what do you think of this Lingyun?" Su Yi asked after Lingyun had left.
But when he looked at Su Yun, he found her leaning against her chair with a pale, ashen complexion, sweat pouring down her forehead like rain.
"Third Sister, what's wrong?" Su Jing asked in alarm.
"What kind of background does this Lingyun have? I only tried to make a small divination of his future, and I suffered such a backlash!" After resting against the chair for a while, Su Yun spoke with a pale face. "If it weren't for the fact that I held no malice, the power of the backlash would have been enough to tear me to shreds in an instant!"
"What?" Both people present were shocked.
One must know that Su Yun had another identity: the closed-door disciple of the Tianji Sect Master. Although she had not entered the sect to cultivate, her art of divination had already reached a quite profound level. Yet, she had been instantly severely injured while divining Lingyun's affairs, which could not help but terrify them.
"It seems this Lingyun is even more mysterious than we imagined!" Su Jing sighed.
While the members of the Su Family were discussing Lingyun, Lingyun had already returned to the building where he lived. However, his brow soon furrowed; in his perception, for some reason, many people had appeared hidden in the shadows of this place. The weakest among these people were at the Mysterious Tier Initial Stage.
What made him frown the most was that inside his house, besides the auras of Luo Yexi and the others, there was also a fairly powerful aura, estimated to be around the Mid-stage Heaven Tier. At the same time, there was an aura of the Mysterious Tier Late Stage, though that aura felt incomparably turbid to him, as if it were formed by mixing countless types of dyes together.
Lingyun's Divine Sense spread out instantly, and he then saw the scene in the room. In the room, two people were sitting in front of Luo Yexi. Among these two, Lingyun had seen one before; it was Ji Moyuan. Standing beside Ji Moyuan was a middle-aged man who appeared to be his servant.
Lingyun's brow furrowed slightly. In his memory, the last time he saw Ji Moyuan, Ji Moyuan only had the strength of the Yellow Rank Mid-Stage. Now, he had actually jumped all the way to the Mysterious Tier Late Stage, crossing an entire major rank. Moreover, countless women's auras were entwined around Ji Moyuan, looking bizarre in the extreme.
"Why did Ji Moyuan come to my place? Could it be that he knows I destroyed the Seal Array in that small lake and came to find trouble with me?" Lingyun muttered to himself.
Just as Lingyun was pondering why Ji Moyuan had suddenly shown up, he heard a segment of conversation through his Divine Sense that left him dumbfounded: "Ye Xi, I truly like you. I came here this time specifically to propose marriage to you. It's just a pity that I don't know where your elders are; I wonder if I might be able to discuss our marriage with them?"
"Propose marriage? This guy is actually here to propose?" Lingyun felt some doubt in his heart.
He had obtained some information about Ji Moyuan from the Su Family; this guy had always been arrogant and looked down on everyone, so why would he suddenly run here to propose to Luo Yexi? Suddenly, Lingyun recalled the pink auras entwined around Ji Moyuan, coupled with his completely unreasonable growth in cultivation, and his expression darkened instantly.
"A fine Ji Moyuan, actually wanting to use my disciple as a Cauldron—truly hateful!" Lingyun's figure flickered, and he instantly vanished into the Void.
Inside the room, Luo Yexi looked at Ji Moyuan, a trace of disgust flashing in her eyes. Although Ji Moyuan thought he was hiding it well, Luo Yexi was an Innate Expert; how sharp was her perception? The trace of lust hidden in the depths of Ji Moyuan's eyes and his extremely secretive glances at her body were all seen by her.
"You should give up. Don't talk about me; even my master would never agree to this marriage!" Luo Yexi said coldly.
"Miss Ye Xi, please don't make such a rash decision. Our Ji Family is a famous great clan; forming a marriage alliance with the power behind you is definitely something you would be very happy to do," the middle-aged man on the side spoke up. "Moreover, our young master is also a talent among the youth; his current strength has already reached the Mysterious Tier Late Stage."
"Mysterious Tier Late Stage? With a hollow foundation and unstable realm, this kind of Mysterious Tier Late Stage built up by all sorts of messy methods—I could slap him onto the wall with one palm, and he'd be the kind you couldn't even scrape off!" Luo Yexi glanced at Ji Moyuan and sneered.
"You..." A trace of anger flashed in Ji Moyuan's eyes. He was a dignified young master of the Ji Family; when had he ever been mocked like this?
"Miss Luo Yexi, don't forget that as someone from a major power, many times, matters of marriage are beyond one's own control!" the middle-aged man said sinisterly.
Just as Luo Yexi was about to say something, a terrifying aura appeared out of thin air in the room and then slammed heavily onto that middle-aged man. The middle-aged man let out a muffled groan, his body involuntarily sinking downward. But a sharp glint suddenly flashed in his eyes, and he actually stood straight again, forcibly bearing this pressure.
"Trying to suppress this old man with mere aura pressure? Truly wishful thinking!" the middle-aged man sneered.
However, before his smugness could pass, the aura pressing down on him suddenly expanded several times over. The middle-aged man's face instantly flushed red, and then, under the immense pressure, with a 'bang', he was forced directly onto his knees on the floor. The most bizarre thing was that despite such a powerful impact, not even a single scratch appeared on the floor.
"Luo!" Seeing the middle-aged man kneel to the ground, Ji Moyuan's expression changed drastically.
"The marriage of my disciple is not for you outsiders to point fingers at," a leisurely voice came from the Void.
"Senior, by doing this, are you not afraid of the Ji Family's punishment?" Luo resisted the immense pressure on his body and said through gritted teeth.
"Ji Family? Heh, Ji Family—you people like this dare to call yourselves members of the Ji Family?" Lingyun, hidden in the Void, gave a cold laugh. "If the people of the Ji Family were all like you, then those old monsters in your clan who are hiding in coffins would definitely be the first to jump out and slap you into meat paste!"
"What does your Excellency mean by that?" Luo felt a shock in his heart.
"What do I mean? You can figure that out for yourselves! Get lost!" A whirlwind appeared out of thin air in the room, swept up Ji Moyuan and the other, and threw them out the door.
Looking at the tightly shut door, Ji Moyuan felt incomparably stifled. As a young master of a branch of the Ji Family, when had he ever suffered such a loss! Just as he wanted to step forward and kick the door open, Luo, on the side, reached out and grabbed him.
"Young Master, this master of Luo Yexi is definitely not a simple character. Not to mention that he knows the secrets of our Ji Family's main branch, the aura he used to suppress me was even several points stronger than the Clan Master's. If we force our way in now, we will only suffer again!"
"Then what do you say we should do? I don't want to give up on this Luo Yexi!" Ji Moyuan said sullenly.
"The only plan now is to wait for the Clan Master to arrive before making further plans!" Luo said.
"Hmph, I will be back!" Ji Moyuan looked at the tightly shut door with some unwillingness, then followed Luo and left this place.
After Ji Moyuan and Luo left, Lingyun walked out of the Void with a calm expression. As the Cloud Realm continued to grow, the power he could borrow became increasingly powerful; just now, he had borrowed a portion of the Cloud Realm's power to forcefully suppress Luo.
"Master, I knew you would stop them!" Luo Yexi, who was sitting on the sofa, jumped up and walked quickly to Lingyun's side.
"Of course. You are my disciple; how could I possibly marry my disciple off to someone with ill intentions?" He smiled and ruffled Luo Yexi's hair.
"Then will Master support me in marrying the person I like?" Luo Yexi asked, blinking her large eyes.
"That goes without saying!" Lingyun laughed.
Luo Yexi's eyes crinkled into crescent moons: "I knew it, Master is the best to me!"
