Chapter 216: A Chance Encounter
"How is it, have you seen your sister?" After Kurome returned to the Villa, Busujima Saeko, who was sitting in the hall reading a book, looked up and asked.
"I saw her, but my sister is unwilling to come back with me!" There was a hint of disappointment in Kurome's tone.
"Perhaps your sister also has her own helplessness. I have heard the story between you two from Lingyun, and I also believe that your sister would absolutely never abandon you! Now that she hasn't come back with you, there must be some unavoidable reason!" Busujima Saeko put down the book in her hand and comforted her.
"Now is not the time to talk about this. Sister Saeko, do you know where Master is now?" Kurome asked.
"Lingyun? He should be in the room on the far left upstairs right now!" Busujima Saeko replied.
"Then I'll go find Master!" Kurome ran upstairs quickly.
When Kurome pushed open the door to the room, she happened to see Lingyun standing up from the bedside. On the bed, a young man was still lying there.
"Huh, Master, isn't this person the young man from that noble's warehouse? It seems his name is Ieyasu, right? Why did you bring him to this place?" Kurome asked with some curiosity.
"Ah, because when I arrived there, I discovered that the two of them still had a breath left, so I simply saved them. After all, one cannot just watch them die without helping!" Lingyun covered Ieyasu on the bed with a quilt and spoke indifferently.
"In other words, Master, you have been there?" Kurome looked at Lingyun with some surprise. "Then Master, why didn't you help me bring my sister back?"
"Do you think that even if the two of us brought Akame back, she wouldn't run out again?" Lingyun spread his hands. "Rest assured, Akame will definitely return to your side in the end!"
With Lingyun's guarantee, Kurome temporarily dismissed the idea of leaving the city to search for the Night Raid Base. Afterward, she looked curiously at Ieyasu lying on the bed: "Master, hasn't this person already died because he reached the late stage of the terminal illness, how could he still have a breath left?"
"As for this, perhaps it is that his fate was not meant to end!" Lingyun spread his hands.
To tell the truth, he was also quite surprised when he discovered that Sayo and Ieyasu, who should have already died, still had a breath left at the time. After thinking about it seriously, Lingyun could only think that this might be the masterpiece of the World Consciousness. Since it let the two of them appear before him with a breath left, the World Consciousness naturally hoped that Lingyun could save them. Lingyun then went with the flow and saved these two people.
"Could it be that Master, you can cure patients in the late stage of the terminal illness? This is a recognized incurable disease!" Kurome looked at Lingyun with a face full of surprise.
"Perhaps for you, this is an incurable disease, but don't forget, your Master is someone who can even neutralize the cursed poison of Murasame. Although the terminal illness is very powerful in its late stage, in front of me, it is still a bit lacking!" Lingyun said with a smile.
"Master, I want to know, how big is the gap in strength between my sister and me?" After leaving the room, Kurome bit her lip and asked.
"The gap between you and Kurome? It is probably the gap between Ye Xi and Saeko, or the gap between Saeko and Esdeath!" Lingyun said.
"Master means?" Kurome was a bit confused.
"Esdeath can suppress Busujima Saeko by a thin margin, while Luo Yexi can suppress Esdeath by a thin margin." Lingyun explained with a smile, then turned and left.
"Is that so?" Kurome looked at Lingyun's back, lost in thought. "However, I really didn't expect that the strength of the two sisters would be so formidable!"
The next day, Kurome received further training from Busujima Saeko at home, while Lingyun walked out of the Villa and came to the main street to go shopping.
Ever since moving into this mansion, Lingyun had put most of his energy into analyzing the laws of this world. Although this world was on the verge of collapse, there were still many things worth studying, such as those strange and varied Teigu, and various kinds of Danger Beasts, which could all become the foundation for Lingyun and the Cloud Realm to strengthen in the future.
The main street of the Imperial Capital looked very prosperous, with merchants hawking their wares and all kinds of luxurious shops everywhere. However, beneath this prosperity was a darkness that shocked everyone. Just after walking on the street for a while, Lingyun saw two incidents where people dragged women with decent looks into dark alleys, while the people around turned a blind eye.
Although Lingyun usually would not take the initiative to solve such matters, once he happened to encounter them, he naturally had to intervene. Lingyun moved his fingers slightly, and not long after, he saw the women who had been dragged into the alleys run out with their clothes in disarray. As for the fate of those who dragged them into the alleys, it was self-evident.
"Little handsome guy, can you do me a small favor?" Just as Lingyun turned a corner, a figure suddenly rushed over and hugged Lingyun's shoulders with great familiarity.
Lingyun raised an eyebrow and looked at the person who was hugging him. The person had a head of brilliant blonde hair, and in her golden eyes flickered a light that never admitted defeat; the size of her chest was enough to make most girls feel ashamed. Although the woman's tone was careless, Lingyun could still hear a trace of caution in it. Although her action of hugging Lingyun was very bold, it subtly blocked any path Lingyun might take to take advantage of her.
"Leone from Night Raid?" Lingyun recognized the origin of this person at a glance.
"May I ask what this beautiful lady needs my help with?" Since he recognized who the person was, Lingyun didn't mind teasing her.
"Damn little brat, you finally let me catch up to you. Let's see how you run this time!" Just as Leone was about to say something, several thug-like people ran over frantically and finally stopped in front of Lingyun.
Seeing these people, a look of fear appeared on Leone's face, and then she quickly hid behind Lingyun.
"These few people have been chasing me, and I can't shake them off no matter what. Could you please help me get rid of them!" Leone said, pretending to look weak. But perhaps she was not naturally suited for this expression, and the expression she put on made Lingyun unable to help but laugh.
The eyes of the few people who chased over fell on Lingyun at the same time. As local bullies in the Imperial Capital, they still had some discernment. The clothes Lingyun wore, although they didn't look too flashy, were made of the highest quality fabric. And this kind of fabric was something only a small number of people in the Imperial Capital were qualified to obtain. Anyone who could wear clothes made of this fabric must have a terrifying force behind them.
"There is such a thing?" Lingyun glanced at the local bullies in front of him, and the invisible power he revealed stunned all of them.
"This young master, you must not listen to this crazy woman's nonsense. It was clearly she who owed us a large sum of money and kept dragging it out without paying. Helpless, we could only come to collect the debt. As a result, this woman not only didn't pay the money but also injured many of our brothers, and then ran away, so we chased after her!" The leader felt the aura that Lingyun inadvertently revealed, and with a heart full of fear, he immediately explained.
"It's true that I borrowed money from them, but their interest rates are too exaggerated, multiplying several times all at once. I don't have that much money to pay back, and these guys wanted to catch me and sell me to that kind of dirty place to pay off the debt!" Leone said with a face full of accusation. "How could I obediently surrender, so I ran out!"
"There is such a thing?" Lingyun's gaze swept over the leader.
Feeling Lingyun's gaze, the man couldn't help but sweat profusely. He could now be certain that the person in front of him was definitely someone who usually stayed at home, received excellent protection and a good education, but had never come into contact with the dark side of the Imperial Capital. People like him were definitely not many in the Imperial Capital, but now he happened to run into one. And seeing his appearance of wanting to intervene, he started to get a headache. After all, such people often stuck to their principles, and because of their status, they were not easy to deal with using other means. But they were a bit unwilling to just give up such a high-quality piece of goods, after all, they had previously paid out real money.
"This money belongs to you, and you are not allowed to trouble this girl again in the future!" Lingyun threw out a money bag directly. "If I see you messing around again, I won't spare you!"
The man took the money bag, weighed it in his hand, and feeling the weight inside, a smile couldn't help but appear on his face. The money in this bag was much more than what they had previously lent to Leone. Even if they didn't capture Leone, it was worth it.
"Yes, yes, this lowly one will never disturb this lady again in the future!" The man bowed repeatedly to Lingyun and the other, then walked away quickly.
"Yay, you really are a good person!" Seeing that group of people leave, Leone poked her head out from behind Lingyun and patted Lingyun's shoulder hard.
"Rest assured, they have already left, and I estimate they shouldn't trouble you again in the future!" Lingyun showed a brilliant smile to Leone.
"Aha, little brother, you really are a good person!" Leone said with a smile. "Let's go, to thank you for helping me out of a tight spot, big sister will treat you to a drink!"
Lingyun wanted to say something else, but was pulled by Leone toward a tavern.
