Chapter 252: Crushing the Wild Hunt (Part II)
"Die!" Ibara let out a roar, and the Jiangxue in his hand bloomed with a blood-colored light.
Afterward, one could see his body swell slightly, and the Jiangxue in his hand had turned blood-red; this was Jiangxue's secret technique. Every time Ibara performed a Blood Sacrifice on Jiangxue, a portion of power would remain hidden within Jiangxue, which could be transferred to himself when activating the secret technique to enhance his own strength.
"Clang, clang, clang," Lingyun and Ibara transformed into two blurred shadows, weaving through the forest as the sounds of blades clashing rang out incessantly. Even with the keen eyesight of Syura and the others, they could barely keep up with the movements of the two.
"Got you!" Lingyun gave a light shout, and the Long sword in his hand instantly conjured a web of sword light.
Ibara was greatly alarmed and hurriedly parried with the Jiangxue in his hand. But Lingyun's sword speed was simply too fast; he only had time to avoid some vital points before Lingyun's attacks pierced his defense and landed on his body.
Ibara let out a miserable cry and retreated rapidly, with dozens of wounds deep enough to see bone already appearing on his body.
Just as Lingyun was about to press his advantage, a jade orb wreathed in raging flames charged toward him. Lingyun formed a seal with one hand and pressed it toward the direction of the jade orb; a giant palm appeared out of thin air before the orb and pinched it tight.
"Slash!" Enshin swung the Moonlight Dance in his hand, fiercely slashing out a Vacuum Blade.
When the Vacuum Blade shot to Lingyun's side, Lingyun's figure suddenly flickered, and the Vacuum Blade passed directly through his body, hacking a small thicket of bushes beside him into fragments.
"Careful, that's just an afterimage," Ibara shouted a warning.
"Too late!" Lingyun's figure had already appeared before Enshin, the Long sword in his hand cleaving down toward his head.
At this critical moment, Enshin suddenly tilted the Moonlight Dance in his hand, narrowly blocking Lingyun's strike. The sword in Lingyun's hand pressed down with force; Enshin let out a muffled groan, turned his body to the side, and sacrificed his left hand to avoid the fate of being sliced in two. As for losing a left hand, he was not worried; after all, he had the alchemist Dorothea by his side, and at worst, he could just replace it with another hand.
"Heh, caught you!" Dorothea appeared beside Lingyun, suddenly reaching out to grab Lingyun's arm before opening her mouth to bite down.
The Long sword in Lingyun's hand vibrated, shaking Enshin back. At the same time, Source Power gathered on his body, and his Protective Qi Shield emerged once more. Dorothea bit down, only to feel as if she had bitten into a piece of tempered steel, nearly shattering her teeth.
"Ouch, is your hand made of steel?" Dorothea looked at Lingyun with teary eyes, appearing pitiful.
Lingyun's expression remained unchanged as he swept his sword toward her body. Dorothea's expression shifted slightly, and she exerted force with both hands, wanting to fling Lingyun away. Lingyun's body sank slightly, heavy as a ten-thousand-pound boulder; no matter how much force Dorothea used, she could not move him even a fraction. Unable to budge Lingyun and seeing the Long sword descending upon her, she hurriedly released Lingyun's arm, wanting to retreat.
Although Dorothea retreated quickly, the Sword Qi swept out by Lingyun was also extremely rapid. Only a muffled groan from Dorothea was heard as a spray of blood erupted from her abdomen. If her body had not already undergone heavy Alchemy modifications, Lingyun's strike just now would have been enough to cut her in two.
"Go to hell!" Cosmina gripped the microphone in her hand and let out a hysterical scream toward Lingyun.
The invisible sound wave instantly blasted a fan-shaped groove into the open ground in front of her, rushing straight toward Lingyun's direction.
The sound wave slammed into Lingyun's Protective Qi Shield, causing it to ripple. Lingyun took a deep breath, sinking his Qi into his dantian, and then a heaven-shaking roar erupted from his throat. Wherever the sound wave passed, the ground shattered inch by inch, and even the space rippled. The members of the Wild Hunt present were instantly rendered deaf by the terrifying roar. The sand and dust kicked up by the roar instantly engulfed the entire battlefield.
A gust of wind blew, sweeping away all the flying dust and smoke in the battlefield and revealing the scene within. Cosmina lay slumped on the ground, her body trembling, her eyes filled with fear; gone was the coquettish air she had when she first wanted to tease Lingyun. In front of her body lay a large pile of fragments—those were the modified monsters Dorothea had summoned.
Cosmina recognized these modified monsters; each one was an Alchemy monster meticulously crafted by Dorothea, possessing extremely formidable physical defense that had once driven many experts to despair. Yet, such formidable existences were still so vulnerable before Lingyun, shattered into pieces by the roar. Of course, if these fellows hadn't been blocking in front of her, she would probably be a pile of minced meat right now!
"How do I feel like this guy is even more terrifying than Esdeath?" Champ's expression shifted slightly.
"Go, kill him for me!" Dorothea gave a cold shout.
A large mass of strange creatures suddenly burst out from the jungle. These creatures had various forms, but all radiated powerful auras, and one could faintly discern that these creatures were pieced together from different Danger Beasts.
"These fellows are all works I have meticulously crafted; now, let's use you to test their strength!" The moment these Alchemy monsters appeared, that eerie confidence returned to Dorothea.
"Do you think you can cause me any harm with these jumbled-up things?" Lingyun sneered, pointing his Long sword toward the sky.
"The wind has started?" Ibara said with a frown.
"No, this wind is strange!" As a pirate captain who had roamed the seas, Enshin's perception of the wind was quite keen.
No sooner had Enshin finished speaking than the wind on the scene turned into a terrifying whirlwind, wrapping Lingyun within it. The Danger Beasts under Dorothea tried to charge into the whirlwind to attack Lingyun, but they only met the fate of being fiercely swept away.
Watching this whirlwind that connected heaven and earth, the members of the Wild Hunt all felt a bad premonition. Syura wanted to use the power of Shangri-La to teleport Lingyun away, but there was an eerie power within the whirlwind that caused his Teigu to lose its effect.
"Four Symbols Dragon Sword Art: West! Wind Dragon Splits the World!"
A cold shout from Lingyun came from within the whirlwind, and a cyan whirlwind giant dragon roared as it rushed out, circling toward the Alchemy monsters in the field. The whirlwind giant dragon possessed powerful penetrating force; no matter what kind of Alchemy monster was in the field, it met the fate of being torn to shreds before the Wind Dragon.
Seeing her proud creations so vulnerable before Lingyun's attack, Dorothea could not help but turn pale. In just a few breaths' time, all the Alchemy monsters in the field had become fragments. The Wind Dragon circled in mid-air and lunged toward the members of the Wild Hunt.
"Dimension Formation—Shangri-La!" At this critical juncture, Syura finally activated his trump card for survival.
A purple light shone from the members of the Wild Hunt, and amidst a dazzling purple glow, the people of the Wild Hunt vanished in unison. This move was an escape technique Syura had only succeeded in performing after many experiments; he had already used it once before when facing Esdeath, and it seemed quite useful now.
"Have they already escaped?" The whirlwind around Lingyun slowly dissipated, and the Wind Dragon also faded away. He reached out and grabbed at the void with one hand, and wisps of purple energy were sucked into his palm. "Is this the power of the Teigu Shangri-La? If I study this power, I believe I will soon be able to find a way to restrain or track it!"
Lingyun stored this wisp of energy into the Cloud Realm and turned to leave the place.
