Chapter 388: Chaos Empress

~7 min read 1,220 words

Inside the office that belonged solely to Nangong Nayue at Caihai Academy, Nangong Nayue and Lingyun sat facing each other.

"Tomorrow, the envoys sent by the other True Ancestors will arrive at Itogami Island," Nangong Nayue said to Lingyun while holding a cup of black tea. "Do you have any thoughts on this?"

"When soldiers come, block them; when water comes, earth covers it," Lingyun said, leaning back against the soft chair with a relaxed expression. "Besides, as long as it isn't a True Ancestor arriving in person, I am confident I can suppress them! And isn't there you here? On Itogami Island, there is no place safer than by your side!"

"Tch!" Nangong Nayue clicked her tongue lightly, but one could tell from the upturned corners of her mouth that she was actually quite pleased.

"These two are the envoys sent by the First Progenitor and the Second Progenitor." Nangong Nayue placed two files into Lingyun's hands.

"Iblisbel Yagiz, the Ninth Prince of the Second Progenitor's direct line. Peresuiyaradoer, the Speaker of the Imperial Council of the War King Domain. These two are truly remarkable people," Lingyun said after carefully examining the files of the two.

"By the way, among these envoys, the one who makes me most curious is the envoy sent by the Chaos Realm; I have never heard of this person's name before." Nangong Nayue handed a file to Lingyun.

Lingyun took the file and couldn't help but raise an eyebrow. The person in the photo was a young girl, appearing to be about the same age as Yese Xiayin. However, considering the other party was a Vampire, the question of age was open to debate. The girl possessed pale green hair like gemstones, and her pupils were the emerald color of deep lakes; her appearance was not at all inferior to Yese Xiayin's.

Looking at the name on the file, Lingyun frowned slightly. Although the girl looked very young, Lingyun still detected a hint of something unusual in her eyes. And this situation actually caused the power belonging to a Vampire within his body to boil.

"Tsk tsk, this time we have truly welcomed an incredible figure!" Lingyun placed the file on the table.

"An incredible figure?" Nangong Nayue picked up the file and examined it carefully in her hands, but she did not see anything special about the person in the photo.

"That's right, an incredible figure. This person is someone who stands at the peak of this world. Am I right, Third Progenitor, Chaos Empress, Lady Gada Kukulkan!" Lingyun suddenly turned his gaze toward an empty direction.

"Gada Kukulkan? The Third Progenitor? The ruler of the Chaos Realm?" Even Nangong Nayue was startled by Lingyun's words. "A figure like that would actually come to Itogami Island in person?"

"That's right, don't forget, back during the Feast of Flame, she came to Itogami Island herself!" Lingyun said. "The most important point is, she has already arrived!"

"Hee hee, truly worthy of being Lingyun, to actually be able to detect my presence!" A drifting, ethereal voice rang out in the room.

"Come out!" Nangong Nayue's brows twitched, the Void suddenly distorted, and countless Chains shot out from the Void, intertwining within the room.

The space in the room suddenly shook, and an invisible spatial fluctuation appeared, sending all the Chains weaving through the room flying away.

A young girl appeared quietly in the Void, her image identical to the photo in the file; beside her, a Familiar was quietly fading away.

"Worthy of being the Witch of the Void; your attainments in Space Magic are truly extraordinary, to actually force me and my Familiar out of the different dimension," the girl said with a light laugh.

"Lady Third Progenitor?" Sensing the terrifying magic power on the girl, Nangong Nayue's expression could not help but turn serious.

"Are you the one who defeated Vatler? You really are not an ordinary person; I felt the aura that only those of the same race have from you. Are you truly not the non-existent Fifth Progenitor?" The Chaos Empress smiled and nodded at Nangong Nayue, then hopped over to Lingyun's side, looking at him with a grin.

"A True Ancestor? Perhaps!" Lingyun neither admitted nor denied it.

If one said he was not a True Ancestor, he did indeed possess the power of a True Ancestor now. But if one said he was a True Ancestor, his current identity was indeed that of a Human, not a Vampire.

"No matter what others say, I acknowledge your identity anyway!" Gada said with a blooming smile.

Although the Chaos Empress appeared harmless in front of Lingyun and the other, neither Lingyun nor Nangong Nayue dared to let their guard down. After all, she was the legendary Third Progenitor, a figure who had existed for who knows how long; if they relaxed their vigilance just because of her current appearance, the outcome would definitely not be good.

"I wonder what advice Lady Third Progenitor has for gracing us with your presence?" Nangong Nayue said to Gada.

"As for that, it is of course because Lingyun might be one of our kin!" Gada's gaze remained firmly fixed on Lingyun. "As for that guy Vatler, or the power of Cain and such, those are all secondary matters!"

"Me?" Lingyun shook his head with a smile. "I am not a Vampire, I just happen to possess the power of a Vampire!"

"But the blood boiling within me is telling me that your identity is definitely a Vampire Progenitor!" Gada leaned in quietly toward Lingyun, her small nose twitching slightly. "And, you have a very pleasant scent on you!"

Sensing Nangong Nayue's gaze on the side becoming increasingly dangerous, Lingyun extended a hand to block Gada, while simultaneously circulating his Source Power within his body, sealing his Vampire power along with his own power aura deep inside.

"Eh, strange, why did that aura disappear?" Gada suddenly stopped, a trace of doubt flashing in her eyes.

The Lingyun before her seemed to have turned into an ordinary person in an instant, and the aura that had made her heart flutter had vanished.

"Hee, you really are an interesting person!" Gada's gaze became even more curious as she looked at Lingyun.

"Lady Fourth Progenitor, this is Itogami Island, not your Chaos Realm; please mind your status!" Nangong Nayue said from the side.

"The magic of the Void, is it actually a physical body?" Looking at Nangong Nayue carefully, Gada took a serious look at Lingyun, and her pupils could not help but shrink.

Nangong Nayue's true body, as the core of the Prison Barrier, had always been sleeping within the Prison Barrier, and what usually walked in the outside world was her magical Projection; this was something she had seen with her own eyes back then. But what appeared before her now was the real Nangong Nayue, which made her feel puzzled.

"It seems many things I don't know have happened on Itogami Island; this is truly interesting!" A glimmer of interest flashed in Gada's eyes.

"I've decided, I will stay at your place for this period of time; I wonder if you welcome me, Miss Nangong?" Gada suddenly said to Nangong Nayue.

"This..." Nangong Nayue could not help but hesitate for a moment, then finally nodded slightly.
