Chapter 629: Reappearance
"Hum—"
In a deserted dense forest, the Void twisted for a moment, and a light gate slowly emerged.
Lingyun, Chen Jing, and Su Wanyue stepped out from the light gate. After they stepped out, the light gate behind them turned into specks of golden light and vanished into the Void.
"Lingyun, where are we right now?" Chen Jing looked around at the surroundings and asked.
"This, I am not very clear at the moment, but perhaps we can find a friend to ask." Lingyun's gaze swept over a large rock as he spoke.
"A friend? Do you have any friends here, Lingyun?" Chen Jing asked with some curiosity.
"Of course, though it is just a friend I just met. That Dwarf brother hiding in the shadows, could you come out and meet us?" Lingyun's gaze swept over the bushes not far away.
"A Dwarf? There are Dwarves here?" Chen Jing looked toward the bushes with a curious expression.
"Swish—"
The person hiding in the shadows knew they had been discovered, so they pushed aside the bushes and walked out.
The gazes of Chen Jing and the other fell upon the newcomer. This Dwarf looked to be about 1.2 meters tall, with a rugged appearance and a beard that covered almost half of his face. The Dwarf wore a suit of silver armor and carried a large axe in his hand that was almost as tall as his own body. Both the armor and the axe flowed with immense magic power, clearly not ordinary items. The aura on this Dwarf was also very formidable, having already reached the peak of the Ninth Rank.
"Humans, you have trespassed into the territory of the Shanzhuo Family. Please leave here immediately, otherwise, I will treat you as intruders and eliminate you."
The Dwarf's voice was very muffled, but his volume was unexpectedly loud. This shout scared off a large flock of birds.
"The territory of the Shanzhuo Family? Is this place Luoxia Valley?" Lingyun could not help but frown upon hearing the Dwarf's words. "No, this place is not Luoxia Valley. Luoxia Valley is covered in red rocks everywhere; where would a forest come from?"
"Could it be that you don't know that a major event has occurred in Luoxia Valley?" Hearing Lingyun say this, the Dwarf slammed the large axe in his hand against the ground and asked in a muffled voice.
"A major event occurred in Luoxia Valley? We really don't know about this matter." Lingyun raised an eyebrow. "Can you tell us what exactly happened?"
However, this Dwarf clearly had no intention of answering Lingyun's question; he stomped his feet hard on the ground, the immense force creating a shallow pit beneath him.
Looking at the Dwarf's demeanor, Lingyun knew they could not communicate. Just as he intended to leave, a voice suddenly came over.
"Mr. Lingyun, is that you?"
"Hm?" Lingyun raised an eyebrow, looked up, and saw an Elf dressed in tight-fitting gear running toward them. "Who are you?"
"My name is Uno, and I am a member of the Elf Scout Squad." The Elf stopped in front of Lingyun, placed one hand on his chest, and bowed slightly to Lingyun and the others.
"Brother Uno, you know them?" The Dwarf looked at Uno with a puzzled expression.
The arrogance of the Elf Race was well-known, and furthermore, the recent incident where the Konuoduo Slave Hunting Group had targeted the Elves had caused the relationship between the Human race and the Elf Race to drop to freezing point in an instant. However, the fact that these few people before him could be treated with such respect by the Elf Race made him start to guess their identities.
"These few are honored guests of our Elf Race," Uno said to the Dwarf.
"Honored guests of the Elf Race?" The Dwarf could not help but gasp.
"Uno, how did you come to this place? I remember that the Elf Race does not easily leave the Morning Light Forest. Are you from another Elf tribe?" Lingyun raised an eyebrow.
"No, we are Elves from the Morning Light Forest," Uno shook his head and said.
"Elves from the Morning Light Forest appearing in this place—it seems that a lot has happened in the month we were away!" Chen Jing calculated the time flow between the two worlds and said.
"Yes, indeed, a lot has happened in this past month," Uno nodded.
Suddenly, he seemed to think of something, and his eyes lit up.
"Mr. Lingyun, the High Priest is also here right now. I think she will be very pleasantly surprised to know you have arrived."
"Andiya? Why did she come to this place too?" Lingyun's tone carried a hint of surprise upon hearing Uno's words.
Lingyun remembered that after Andiya became the High Priest of the Elf Race, she had become a homebody for a thousand years, not even stepping out of the Elf Royal City once in that millennium. But now, Andiya had actually run to the territory of the Dwarf Race; how could this not surprise him?
Hearing Lingyun address Andiya by her name so directly, the Dwarf on the side could not help but open his mouth wide. What kind of figure was the High Priest of the Elf Race? Even the Dwarf King of their Dwarf Race had to lower his head when facing Andiya. By extension, could this person be a big shot of the same level as Andiya?
Thinking of the tone he had just used toward such a big shot, cold sweat began to break out on the Dwarf's forehead.
"Let's go, let's go see Andiya together," Lingyun said to the two women.
"Alright." Chen Jing and the other looked at each other and nodded.
"Everyone, please." Uno turned and walked in the lead, taking Lingyun and the three others toward the depths of the dense forest.
The Dwarf watched the backs of the four, hurriedly pulled his large axe from the ground, shouldered it, and caught up.
"Hey, hey, don't walk so fast, wait for me!"
"Some changes have occurred in the Dwarf Race's Luoxia Valley, and it seems to be related to the Demon Race. The Dwarves of the Shanzhuo Family had to temporarily withdraw from Luoxia Valley and contacted Her Excellency the High Priest. After Her Excellency the High Priest learned of this matter, she brought some personnel and rushed to this place," Uno explained to Lingyun while leading the way in front.
"Related to the Demon Race? This, that shouldn't be possible. Wasn't the passage between the Demon World and the Continent sealed by the joint efforts of the powerhouses of all races, and then banished into the Void together?" Lingyun could not help but frown upon hearing Uno's words.
"This is not clear at the moment; Her Excellency the High Priest and the Dwarf King are still investigating," Uno said.
"We have arrived!" Uno suddenly stopped his steps.
Appearing before Lingyun and the others was a vast forest. However, this forest was different from ordinary forests; not only were the trees much thicker, but one could also see that many tree houses had been carved out of these trees.
"Mobile Tree Houses; this is indeed Andiya's handiwork," Lingyun said after glancing at these large trees.
"Uno, didn't you go on patrol today? Why are you back so soon?" An Elf saw Uno and could not help but ask.
"Lord Lingyun has arrived," Uno said.
"Lord Lingyun?" The Elf saw Lingyun following behind Uno, a look of surprise appearing on their face, before they ran toward the depths of the forest.
"Mr. Lingyun, why have you come here?" Before long, Andiya's figure appeared before Lingyun and the others.
"We just happened to arrive at this place by chance," Lingyun said.
"It just so happens that we have some matters here that require Mr. Lingyun's assistance. I wonder if Mr. Lingyun could lend a hand?"
"I would be happy to," Lingyun said with a smile.
"This is not a place for discussion; please come inside to talk."
A Space Array unfolded around Andiya, enveloping Lingyun and the others. A flash of silver light passed, and Lingyun and the others vanished along with Andiya.
