Chapter 64: The Amnesiac Girl

~7 min read 1,364 words

"Ye Xi, how is that girl?" Hearing the sound of water in the bathroom stop, Lingyun put his computer aside and asked aloud.

"Very bad, the situation is very serious. I really wonder how she even survived!" The bathroom door was pushed open gently, and Luo Yexi walked out carrying the girl, placing her softly on the bed.

"Her meridians are completely severed, her internal organs are all injured, and the bones throughout her body are broken in many places. If not for an inexplicable power protecting her from within, she would definitely have perished." Luo Yexi's expression was very grave. "Just what kind of person could deal such a ruthless hand to a girl like this?"

Lingyun came to the bedside, his right hand resting gently on the girl's pulse, while his Divine Sense simultaneously permeated her body to begin examining her injuries. Soon, his brows knit together; this type of injury was extremely thorny for him, and furthermore, there were two inexplicable powers struggling within the girl—one was constantly destroying her body, while the other was continuously repairing the damage. The two had already formed a delicate balance; intervening rashly might cause even greater harm to the girl.

"Master, what should we do now? If things continue like this, her body will collapse," Luo Yexi asked.

"I will try my best!" Lingyun pondered for a moment and said, "You step back first."

Luo Yexi retreated a certain distance and simultaneously activated the array arranged in the room to prevent others from knowing about the events here.

"Ruoxi, lend me a hand!" Lingyun gave a low shout in his heart, and the power of the Cloud Realm instantly poured into his body. In an instant, Lingyun's power surged step by step, rising to the Earth Realm Mid-Stage.

Lingyun pointed his right index finger at the center of the girl's brow, and Source Power, World Power, and Divine Sense surged into the girl's body simultaneously. Just as these three powers entered the girl's body, the power within her suddenly churned, and blood immediately spilled from the corners of the girl's mouth.

"Seal for me!" Lingyun used one mind for three tasks, manipulating the Source Power to entwine the destructive power, the World Power to entwine the restorative power, and simultaneously using his Divine Sense as the hub to connect with the girl's own remaining power, forming a complex Seal Array to suppress the two powers within the girl in one stroke. A faint light shimmered on the girl's body, and countless streams of light gathered on her, slowly forming a huge Seal Array. After the Seal Array sank into the girl's body, the chaotic aura on her finally vanished.

Lingyun, having withdrawn his right hand, stood up straight, but felt darkness before his eyes; fortunately, Luo Yexi at his side quickly supported him.

"Is this little sister alright now?"

"As long as we periodically infuse power into her body to wear away the power of the Underworld King of the end within her, she will be fine." Lingyun's aura rapidly dropped to the Mysterious Tier Initial Stage, and he said softly, "However, the injuries on her body will still need treatment for a period of time, but these are all minor matters."

"Ugh, where... is this?" A low moan came from the girl's mouth.

Lingyun and the other turned to look at the girl on the bed; the girl had already opened her eyes, sizing up the place where she was. Her pupils, unlike anyone else on Earth, were blood-red.

"You're awake, how do you feel now?" Luo Yexi supported Lingyun as she came to the bedside and asked softly.

"My body, very uncomfortable, very painful," the girl said with a frown. "Who are you people, and why am I here?"

"You were seriously injured, and we brought you home. By the way, what is your name?" Luo Yexi asked.

"Name? I... what is my name?" The girl frowned, thinking bitterly, "Headache, I can't remember."

"Is this because of a heavy blow to the head, causing temporary memory loss?" Lingyun's gaze fell on the wound on the girl's forehead; a hideous wound marred her exquisite features.

"Well, you can't go without a name, so what should we call you?" Ye Xi asked.

"Call her Lingqi, just call her Lingqi," Ruoxi suddenly spoke up from within the Cloud Realm.

"Lingqi?" Lingyun subconsciously said the name out loud.

"Lingqi? What a strange name," Luo Yexi said with some curiosity. "It doesn't sound like a girl's name at all!"

"Lingqi?" The girl muttered the name once, then nodded, "I think this name is alright; let's use this name for now. May I ask what your names are?"

"My name is Luo Yexi, this is my master, Lingyun, that is Busujima Saeko, and the youngest is Alice!" Luo Yexi introduced.

"Nice to meet you. Um, how serious are the injuries on my body?" Lingqi asked with some difficulty.

"Both your bones and internal organs have suffered severe trauma. According to our treatment capabilities, it will take at least a week before you can get out of bed and walk," Luo Yexi said.

"That is really troubling you," Lingqi said with an embarrassed expression.

"You have injuries, so you should rest well first; I'll go brew some medicine for you," Luo Yexi said. "By the way, I'll cover up the color of your eyes later; we don't have red eyes around here."

"Mm." Lingqi nodded, then closed her eyes to rest.

After leaving the room, Luo Yexi said to Lingyun with a serious expression: "Master, this girl gives me a very dangerous feeling."

"Of course, her original strength far exceeds that old fellow from the Listening Heaven Tower!" Lingyun sighed. When he had previously used his Divine Sense to connect with the residual power in Lingqi's body to set the seal, he had already sensed Lingqi's power. If she were in her prime state, even if he borrowed the power of the Cloud Realm, he likely wouldn't be a match for her in a single exchange.

"Saeko, Ye Xi and I are going to get medicine; you and Alice stay at home and look after that child while you're at it," Lingyun instructed Busujima Saeko.

"Understood, Ling-kun."

After Lingyun and the other left, Lingqi, lying on the bed, opened her eyes and carefully examined the place where she was. Although she had lost her memory, she clearly remembered that she had been injured in a battle, and it was a battle that threatened the safety of the world she was in. At the thought of this, Lingqi began to feel anxious; she didn't know the outcome of that battle, or if her world was still safe.

Just as Lingqi struggled to get up, a leisurely voice sounded beside her: "You are very seriously injured right now; it's best not to move around, otherwise my brother's hard work will have been in vain."

"You... who are you?" Lingqi was greatly alarmed; she discovered that, at some point, a girl had appeared at the head of the bed without a sound.

"I know what you are worried about, but the most important thing now is to heal your injuries first. As for the things you are worried about, my brother will help you solve them!" Looking at the weak Lingqi, Ruoxi said, "However, you must remember one thing: if you dare to have any bad thoughts about my brother, I will be the first to deal with you."

Lingqi couldn't help but nod; the pressure Ruoxi gave her was simply too great. This had nothing to do with strength, but a gap in Status.

After warning Lingqi, Ruoxi vanished into the Void. She had no choice but to do this; after all, this girl was not a simple character, her personality was quite nasty, and her current strength was still far higher than Lingyun's. If she didn't give her a knock, she would inevitably harbor bad intentions toward her brother.

After Ruoxi left, Lingqi closed her eyes, but this time she truly fell asleep; the soul pressure Ruoxi had exerted on her earlier had exhausted the last bit of her energy.
