Chapter 691: School Trip
"Lingyun, it's so boring lately. Let's not just stay here all the time; let's go somewhere else for a walk!" Tokisaki Kurumi said to Lingyun, her body draped lazily over the table in front of him.
"Boring?" Lingyun raised an eyebrow. "Kurumi, what kind of bad idea have you come up with again?"
"What do you mean by bad idea? It's just boring staying here!" Tokisaki Kurumi said, rolling her eyes.
"Alright, alright, tell me, what do you want to do now?" Lingyun asked.
"Well, how about we go on a trip?" Tokisaki Kurumi said with a look of anticipation.
"A trip? Why would you suddenly want to go on a trip?"
"Just tell me if you're going or not!" Tokisaki Kurumi suddenly emerged from the shadow beside Lingyun, leaning her entire body into his arms.
Looking at Tokisaki Kurumi in his arms, Lingyun's tone held a hint of helplessness: "Tell me, where do you want to go for this trip?"
"Mayuri Island!" Tokisaki Kurumi said, squinting her eyes.
Tengu City, airport.
Lingyun looked at Itsuka Shido and Yatogami Tohka before him; how could he not understand that Kurumi had a hidden agenda for dragging him out on this trip?
"Lingyun, have you forgotten? If we follow the plot progression of this world, a lot of things happen during Itsuka Shido's school trip!" Tokisaki Kurumi whispered into Lingyun's ear.
"Mr. Lingyun?" Upon seeing Lingyun, expressions of uncontrollable surprise appeared on the faces of Itsuka Shido and Itsuka Kotori.
"Why would Mr. Lingyun appear in this place?" Itsuka Kotori asked with some surprise.
Beside Lingyun were four extremely beautiful girls: Tokisaki Kurumi, Yoshino, Tina, and Xia Shi. As for Bentiao Eya, she was still acting like a salted fish in the small shop. However, recently she seemed to be transitioning into a manga artist, and no one knew what she was drawing all day long.
"Nothing much, just out for a trip. Staying in the small shop all the time is quite boring, isn't it?" Tokisaki Kurumi said with a smile.
"Then where is your group heading, Mr. Lingyun?" Itsuka Kotori asked, her tone carrying a hint of hidden expectation.
"It's Mayuri Island!" Tokisaki Kurumi said.
"Really?" Hearing Tokisaki Kurumi's words, Itsuka Kotori almost jumped for joy. "It just so happens that Shido is going to Mayuri Island for a school trip, but I always feel like something is wrong. However, I have to attend a very important meeting and won't be able to support him when he needs it, so I hope Mr. Lingyun can look after him a little."
"This request sounds somewhat interesting, so we'll take it," Lingyun said with a nod.
"Hey, Lingyun, look over there!" Tokisaki Kurumi pointed to Lingyun's side.
"Hmm?" Lingyun looked in the direction Tokisaki Kurumi was pointing and happened to see Itsuka Shido sandwiched between Tobiichi Origami and Yatogami Tohka.
Watching the two girls glaring at each other with angry faces, the corner of Lingyun's mouth couldn't help but curl into a smile: "Sure enough, watching the romantic light comedy that happens every day around Itsuka Shido is truly a pleasant thing for the body and mind!"
"Yeah, yeah, and it wasn't in vain that I had Yui-chan secretly hack into the airline's internal database to arrange their three seats together, with Itsuka Shido right in the middle!" Tokisaki Kurumi said with a smile.
"When did you become so mischievous? And how could Yui go along with you in such a reckless act?" Lingyun looked at the girl beside him who was laughing happily, his tone already tinged with helplessness.
He naturally knew that although Yui was now the controller of Aincrad, she had previously been a powerful AI; hacking into an airline's database was not a difficult task for her. However, Lingyun was more interested in how Kurumi had persuaded Yui to modify the database.
"For that, you and the girls around you will have to take responsibility!" Tokisaki Kurumi winked playfully at Lingyun, clearly not intending to tell him how she had persuaded Yui.
"It seems the person we need to pay attention to has appeared!"
Suddenly, Tokisaki Kurumi, who had been watching Itsuka Shido caught in a shuraba, raised an eyebrow and said to Lingyun beside her.
"Are you talking about that photographer whose tracking skills are so poor they could almost be called clumsy?" Lingyun chuckled, casting a glance out of the corner of his eye toward the back.
There, a woman clutching a camera was sneaking glances in their direction.
"Damn it, didn't the intelligence say that only the Princess was going to Mayuri Island this time? How did the Swordsman, the Nightmare, and the Hermit appear too? No, I must tell Isaac about this immediately." Ellen gritted her teeth, staring fixedly at the direction of Lingyun and the others.
The fact that Itsuka Shido and the others were heading to Mayuri Island for a school trip was actually planned by DEM Industries, specifically to capture the Spirit codenamed Princess on Mayuri Island. However, with such a huge variable appearing now, Ellen couldn't help but panic.
"Interesting! Three of the four Spirits we are looking for have actually appeared. Is this some kind of favor from fate?" Hearing Ellen's report, a ripple of emotion appeared on the face of Westcott at the Tengu City branch, and he then ordered Ellen: "You follow them first; I will send others to assist you. This time, perhaps we can capture four Spirits at once!"
"Capture four Spirits at once? That really is a whimsical idea; they are truly confident!" Tokisaki Kurumi, sitting in her seat, curled her lip.
Although Ellen thought she had been seamless when reporting the situation to Westcott, she did not notice that a small patch of shadow with a faint fluctuation beside her was transmitting their conversation word for word to others.
"By the way, Lingyun, what do you plan to do about this woman?" Tokisaki Kurumi asked.
"As for that, I remember there are three of her natural nemeses in Itsuka Shido's class, right? Let them deal with her!" Lingyun raised an eyebrow and offered a suggestion that sounded somewhat unreliable.
"Eh, I think this is indeed a good idea!" Tokisaki Kurumi's eyes darted around, clearly preparing some bad idea.
Ellen, who was whispering about the Mayuri Island strategy with Westcott, suddenly felt a chill run down her back, as if someone were plotting against her in the dark.
She hurriedly looked left and right, but found nothing.
"Maybe I'm just being too suspicious," Ellen shook her head and continued her call with Westcott, failing to notice that Tokisaki Kurumi, not far from her, was looking at her with a meaningful smile.
