Chapter 772: The Stolen Fate
In the hall of the Elf Temple, Lingyun was looking at the map of the Morning Light Forest before him.
Ever since the last time he repelled the Undead Demon Army that attacked the Elf Kingdom, Lingyun had not once deactivated the Array shrouding the entire Morning Light Forest. After all, if the Elf Goddess truly intended to complete her plan, the Natural Power required would be absolutely immense. And the active Elf Array was perfectly capable of gathering the Natural Power needed for the plan.
Suddenly, Lingyun felt wisps of spatial fluctuations appear around him. Turning his head, he saw a purple Magic Array slowly unfolding beside him.
"You're back, Yuejiang." Looking at the figure appearing within the Magic Array, Lingyun said with a smile.
Nangong Nayue, who had stepped out from the Array, felt her eyes sink abruptly at Lingyun's words, and the lace fan in her hand struck toward Lingyun's head through a Space Array that had quietly unfolded.
"Do not add 'jiang' after my name!"
"Understood, Yuejiang! No problem, Yuejiang!" Lingyun reached out a hand, blocked Nangong Nayue's fan, and replied with a grin.
"You, hmph—" Nangong Nayue retracted her fan and let out a cold huff at Lingyun.
"How do you feel after waking up this time?" After teasing Nangong Nayue, Lingyun's tone turned serious.
"I can only say that I have never experienced this feeling before." Hearing Lingyun's words, Nangong Nayue said solemnly. "I don't know if it's an illusion caused by the increase in my strength, but I can now even feel that I can command the spatial elements of this Continent at will!"
"That is not an illusion of Sister Na Yue, oh. The current Sister Na Yue is the controller of the spatial laws of the Cloud Realm; mere spatial elements of the God-Given Continent, upon seeing Sister Na Yue, would be just like seeing their boss!" Ruoxi's voice rang out in both of their hearts. "It is just that Sister Na Yue's strength is not enough yet; otherwise, even if the Space God of this world were to reappear, they would not be Sister Na Yue's opponent in the way of space."
"Is it really that powerful?" A trace of surprise also appeared in Nangong Nayue's eyes.
"That's right, the Cloud Realm is no ordinary world. Later on, Sister Na Yue will learn about more interesting things, oh. Hmm, the spatial laws of the Cloud Realm have become much stronger; I am going to tidy things up first, see you next time, Sister Na Yue!" Ruoxi's voice quickly faded away.
"Lingyun, is this the companion you mentioned to me before?" Just at this moment, a curious voice rang out.
"Who is this?" Looking at Andiya who had walked in through the temple gate, Nangong Nayue asked with some curiosity.
Although she had long known that this was a world of swords and magic, this was the first time Nangong Nayue had carefully observed the elves of this world. She felt a powerful force from Andiya that was not inferior to her own.
"She is the High Priest of the Elf Race, Andiya. Aside from the Elf Goddess, she is the person with the highest status among the Elf Race," Lingyun introduced.
"Hello, I am Nangong Nayue. It is our first meeting, please treat me well." Nangong Nayue performed an aristocratic bow toward Andiya.
Andiya likewise returned a greeting unique to the Elf Race toward Nangong Nayue. She was somewhat surprised to discover that she was unable to perceive Nangong Nayue's true strength; the only thing she could be certain of was that this girl, who did not look very old, was definitely not inferior to her in strength.
"Andiya, what matter could make you come to find me in such a hurry?" Lingyun asked Andiya.
"Kaile just rescued someone," Andiya said.
"I know, didn't Kaile send a distress signal earlier? It was Na Yue who cleared the siege for them. Could it be that the person rescued has something different about them compared to ordinary people?" Lingyun raised an eyebrow.
"That's right, the person Kaile rescued this time is truly not an ordinary person, and in fact, you have seen her before, Lingyun," Andiya said.
"I have seen her too? Since I arrived at the God-Given Continent, I have truly met quite a lot of people!"
"She is the Dragon Princess, Daiweina!" Andiya said.
"Daiweina? Rescued?" There was a trace of surprise in Lingyun's tone. "Could it be that she was rescued by Kaile from the place they were investigating?"
"That's right, and her current condition is very dire."
"The condition is very dire? Isn't healing something like that always your Elf Race's specialty? Could it be that her injuries are so severe that even your use of Natural Recovery could not resolve them?"
Natural Recovery is the most powerful healing spell of the Elf Race. It can be said that as long as the person being treated still has a breath left, they can be saved; it is hailed as one of the spells most detested by the God of Death. But looking at Andiya's tone now, she must have used Natural Recovery on Daiweina, yet the result was clearly not what she wanted to see. That Andiya could not resolve the problem even after using Natural Recovery shows that Daiweina's current state is truly not good.
"I have already used Natural Recovery on that little Princess three times in succession, but she is still in a coma. In fact, when I used the first Natural Recovery, the injuries on her body had already fully healed. However, the state of being in a coma has consistently been impossible to resolve."
"It seems this coma is unrelated to her injuries, but rather caused by another reason," Lingyun said, rubbing his chin. "I will go take a look at her; before seeing her, I cannot draw a conclusion about her state."
When Lingyun saw Daiweina lying on the bed, his brows could not help but wrinkle slightly.
"Lingyun, the aura on this little girl seems a bit off; it seems to be leaking out constantly!" Nangong Nayue said.
"Aura?" Andiya was somewhat puzzled.
Lingyun's gaze swept over Daiweina's body, and he already had a realization in his heart: "Someone is stealing her Fate."
"Stealing Fate?"
"That's right, Andiya, you should know that in this world, there are always some people born favored by fate. The Fate Power on them is extremely strong; they can often turn danger into safety and, at the same time, achieve results that others find difficult to reach in a short period of time. And Daiweina is one of those who possess great Fate. And now, the Fate on her is constantly draining away; clearly, someone has tampered with her, and this is exactly the reason why she has remained in a coma," Lingyun explained.
"In other words, to make her wake up, one must also resolve the matter of her Fate being stolen, correct?" Andiya asked.
"That's right. For this kind of thing, I am likely the only one here who can do it," Lingyun said indifferently.
