Chapter 782: The Place That Is Not Right

~7 min read 1,220 words

The strife across the Continent continues, and in the face of the entire Continent's siege, the Noklos Family has also revealed their terrifying foundation.

To pit one family against the entire Continent sounds like a fantasy, yet it has actually come to pass at this moment. However, this could not have happened without the help of Kaqinuo. Although Kaqinuo is currently attempting to merge with the body of the Lord of the Demon World, his consciousness remains clear; he has borrowed the unique abilities of the Noklos Family to hand over control of the resurrected Demon Army undead to others in the Noklos Family.

It is precisely by utilizing these Demon Undead that the Noklos Family has managed to withstand the offensive of the entire Continent, and at times, they have even been able to launch counterattacks. However, they have all pointedly avoided the Morning Light Forest. After all, the entire Morning Light Forest is now shrouded in the Elf Array; once Demon Undead step into the forest, they suffer from a double suppression, their strength greatly diminished, making them unable to withstand a single blow before the warriors of the Spirit race.

"No, I keep feeling like something is wrong. Although Demon Undead have appeared in various places across the Continent, I just feel like something is off!" In a patch of woods, Kaile sat on a tree stump with a weary face and said, frowning. "Mr. Lingyun, can you sense what is wrong?"

"Well, if you want to ask me, then forget it; this sort of thing is not my specialty. Perhaps you, who possess the Apocalypse, are the one who should be able to derive some revelation from it."

Opposite Kaile was the Lingyun clone, chewing on a grass stem and leaning against a large tree. At first, he did not know that such an expert was hidden by his side, until just a moment ago when he fell into the heavy encirclement of the Undead Legion and nearly died, only then did the Lingyun clone appear before him.

Facing the endless Undead Legion, the Lingyun clone waved his hands, turning countless blades of grass into sharp swords, clearing the entire Undead Legion with a single move. This scene was firmly etched into Kaile's mind.

Looking at the lazy-looking Lingyun clone before him, a wry smile could not help but appear on Kaile's face. Although he already knew that the person before him was a clone of Lingyun, this clone seemed somewhat different from the real Lingyun; at the very least, in terms of behavior, he was far too lazy.

"Perhaps I really have overlooked something in all of this." Kaile whispered, lowering his head to begin deep thought. "However, this undead attack is truly dangerous. If it weren't for you, Mr. Lingyun, I would have been in real danger!"

"Wait, undead, undead..." Kaile did not know what he had thought of, but he suddenly raised his head. "Mr. Lingyun, I know what is wrong—it's the undead!"

"Oh, what about these undead?" Although the Lingyun clone had a grass stem in his mouth, his voice was very clear.

"Mr. Lingyun, have you noticed that the undead who attacked me just now were not Demon Undead!" Kaile said. "These undead are beings that should have been buried here, but now it seems some unknown force has made them revive. Moreover, in many places we have passed, this phenomenon also exists. In fact, if we think about it carefully, many of the undead we have encountered are not Demon Undead, but undead of other races!"

"Is there anything wrong with that situation?"

"Of course there is! As far as I know, although that Lord of the Demon World is powerful, he does not know how to use Undead Magic. And the reason those Demon Undead awakened was because of the influence of Demon Qi. But Demon Qi cannot affect the remains of other races, yet they have turned into undead and appeared anyway. Isn't this the part that is wrong?" Kaile said. "No wonder my Apocalypse has been guiding me toward the direction of the Undead Legion all along the way; so this is the reason!"

"The Undead Calamity?" the Lingyun clone whispered.

"I am not very clear about that either, but the most important thing now is to inform the High Priest!" Kaile stood up and said.

"No, little one, we seem to have been targeted!" The Lingyun clone slowly straightened his body, and a terrifying aura erupted from him.

"What?" Kaile's expression changed slightly.

Suddenly, an extremely terrifying aura of the undead erupted from beneath their feet, and one skeleton hand after another broke through the ground, dragging their bodies out from the soil. The originally lush forest began to wither rapidly under the erosion of the terrifying undead aura, and in a short while, it became a forest filled with Ghost Qi.

Amidst Kaile's pale complexion, countless undead surrounded them in layer upon layer. What terrified him most was that among the undead, an extremely terrifying aura appeared; it was a giant skeleton with six skeleton hands. Just by looking at that skeleton, Kaile could feel a pressure that made him suffocate.

"Little one, you should have a Space Scroll on you that can return to the Morning Light Forest!" Lingyun said.

"I do, but the space power here has been completely scattered by the Death Qi, and the Scroll cannot be activated!" Kaile gripped the Long sword in his hand. "There is only one way now, and that is to charge out!"

"Charge out? With your small frame, little one, wanting to charge out of the encirclement of these bone racks is simply a pipe dream! You had better obediently use your Space Teleportation Scroll to go back!" the Lingyun clone said.

"But the Space Scroll can no longer be used!"

"With me here, it can be used!" The Lingyun clone spat out the grass stem in his mouth.

After spitting out the grass stem, the Lingyun clone's power began to climb crazily in Kaile's astonished gaze. In just a few breaths, it rose to the same level as that six-armed skeleton. The Lingyun clone stepped forward coldly, and an invisible Domain unfolded from his side, with all the Death Qi within the domain being completely expelled.

"Now, the Space Scroll can be used, right!" the Lingyun clone said lightly.

"But, Mr. Lingyun, what about you?" Kaile asked with some anxiety.

"Me? I am just a clone; returning to the main body is but a matter of an instant!" The Lingyun clone waved his hand and said.

Hearing the Lingyun clone say this, Kaile knew that it was impossible for the Lingyun clone to leave with him. He could only crush the Scroll in his hand and shout loudly at Lingyun: "Mr. Lingyun, I will wait for you in the Morning Light Forest!"

Watching Kaile disappear into a flash of silver light, the Lingyun clone opened his hand, and a three-foot-long blade appeared in his grasp.

"Well, seeing something like this, I really can't remain indifferent. Before returning to the main body, I might as well dismantle you bone racks first!"

As soon as he finished speaking, the Lingyun clone gripped his Long sword and, with an indomitable momentum, charged straight toward the six-armed skeleton.
