Chapter 841: Return
"Sister Kaguya, has Teacher still not returned?" Fujiwara no Mokou asked, lying on the table, listless.
"I am also quite puzzled; why has Teacher been gone for nearly a month, and why has he not sent us any news during this month?" Kaguya said, knitting her brows. "Could it be that something has happened to Teacher? No, I must have Eirin go and investigate!"
Saying this, Kaguya stood up directly and walked toward the outside of the house.
"Eirin? Is the Eirin that Sister Kaguya mentioned the person I saw last time?" Fujiwara no Mokou said with some confusion.
Outside the Bamboo House, Yagokoro Eirin, hidden within the Pot World, felt a flash of anxiety in her eyes. She naturally knew Lingyun's current situation, but if she were to inform Kaguya of his current state, she did not know what kind of trouble Kaguya might cause. After promising Kaguya she would go to the Demon World to investigate Lingyun's situation, Yagokoro Eirin found Yakumo Yukari.
"Yakumo Yukari, what do you think is actually going on with Lingyun right now? The Princess has already begun to suspect his situation."
A bitter smile appeared on Yakumo Yukari's face as well: "How would I know? Lingyun paid such a huge price to transform Yuyuko into the Princess of the Underworld. Now that Lingyun is in the Demon World, Shinki, the creator of the Demon World, is quite unwelcoming to me; I was even kicked out by her last time. Now, if I want to enter the Demon World, what will greet me will surely be countless Magic Arrays!"
Facing Shinki, the veteran powerhouse who created the Demon World, Yakumo Yukari also felt deeply powerless. After she had sealed the Demon World, her Gap could no longer be deployed within it.
"This is going to be troublesome," Yagokoro Eirin sighed and said.
Demon World, Demon God Palace.
"Lady Shinki, what are you looking at?" Yumeko looked at Shinki and said with a helpless expression.
Shinki was lying on the table, with high piles of documents in front of her, but it was clear that her attention was not on these documents at all. The ahoge on her head twitched constantly, pointing toward another direction from time to time.
Yumeko followed the direction the ahoge was pointing and saw a crystal half the height of a person. Inside the crystal, Lingyun sat cross-legged, without the slightest movement.
"What exactly is Mr. Lingyun's current state? Do you know, Lady Shinki?" Yumeko asked with some confusion.
"This might be a way of healing, but I have never seen this method before, and I don't know what that layer of stuff wrapped around Lingyun's body is. I once tried to use Magic to probe these crystals, but the moment the Magic entered the crystals, it was completely absorbed," Shinki said, knitting her brows.
"These crystals can even absorb your Magic, Lady Shinki?" There was a hint of disbelief in Yumeko's tone.
"That's right, this kind of crystal is truly special; I have never seen it before," Shinki said.
Just as the two were talking, the crystal suddenly emitted a faint light, attracting both of their attention. They saw the crystal wrapping Lingyun turn into a ball of light that was not dazzling in an instant, slowly shrinking back into Lingyun's body. Lingyun's eyes opened suddenly, gold and silver light surging within them before slowly disappearing.
"Lingyun, you're awake?" Shinki appeared in front of Lingyun all at once.
Lingyun stood up and moved his body slightly. A series of cracking sounds came from within Lingyun's body.
"Mm, Shinki, I've troubled you during this time," Lingyun said with a smile.
"No, no, no, friends don't need to say so much." Shinki waved her hands vigorously, and the ahoge on her head twitched constantly. "However, if you really want to thank me, Lingyun, could you help me with a small favor?"
"Help you with a small favor?"
"Mm!" Shinki nodded vigorously, and the ahoge on her head pointed rapidly toward the table to the side.
Lingyun looked toward the table and could not help but laugh in spite of himself; on the table were indeed high piles of unprocessed documents.
"Alright, I will help you process these. After I finish processing them, I will leave," Lingyun said to Shinki.
"Ah, can't you stay for a while longer?" Shinki asked with some disappointment.
"If I don't go back now, those two students of mine at home might just come looking for me," Lingyun said.
"But, your injuries..."
"My injuries are no longer a major problem; I just need to recuperate for a while longer," Lingyun said to Shinki while processing the tasks in front of him.
"Oh." Shinki nodded and said.
Lingyun's speed at processing tasks was very fast; before long, the pile of documents that had given Shinki a headache had completely disappeared.
"Shinki, I'm leaving!" Lingyun waved at Shinki, and his figure vanished instantly from the Demon God Palace.
"Eh, I seem to have forgotten to tell Lingyun that the Demon World has been sealed by me; he shouldn't be able to get out," Shinki said suddenly, feeling a bit embarrassed.
High in the sky of the Demon World, Lingyun looked at the Magic Arrays filling the sky, and the corners of his mouth twitched. What on earth could have happened to make Shinki set up these layers of Arrays on the passage from the Demon World to the present world?
However, this kind of Array naturally could not stop Lingyun. Lingyun saw Source Power rising continuously from his body, wrapping him firmly within it, and then, Lingyun's entire person turned into a stream of light, crashing toward the Magic Array.
However, a bizarre scene occurred: the stream of light Lingyun had turned into actually passed directly through the Magic Array set by Shinki, as if the two were not in the same space.
"Ha, Lingyun is indeed not to be underestimated!" Shinki dispersed the Magic Array in front of her and said lazily; between her fingers, light flickered faintly.
"Lady Shinki, you cannot run off on your own this time!" Yumeko's figure appeared abruptly behind Shinki.
"Waya, Yumeko-chan, why are you here?" Shinki was so startled that the ahoge on her head stood straight up, and the Magic Array in her hand dissipated at the same time.
"So Lady Shinki still has the intention to run away?" Yumeko rubbed her forehead with some helplessness. "It seems that for the next period of time, I will have to stay by Lady Shinki's side, never leaving her for a single step!"
Before the Mojei Tongdao, a Gap opened quietly.
"Yagokoro Eirin, can you break these sealed Magic Arrays?" Yakumo Yukari asked.
"Difficult, very difficult." Yagokoro Eirin shook her head and said. "Shinki is an existence who opened up a Small World; her strength is no less than Tsukuyomi's. Even if we were to break these Magic Arrays she set up, we would definitely be detected by her. And I do not believe that the two of us working together can overcome Shinki."
"This..." Yakumo Yukari gripped the fan in her hand, releasing a trace of demon energy from her body, constantly probing the reality of the Magic Array.
Just at this moment, a stream of light suddenly passed through the Magic Array and appeared in front of the two of them.
"Could it be that Shinki has discovered us?" Yakumo Yukari's brows furrowed slightly.
The stream of light stopped abruptly in mid-air, revealing Lingyun's figure.
"It's been nearly a month; Kaguya and Mokou must be worried, I should go back and check on them first!" Lingyun said.
"Lingyun!" Just at this moment, a Gap opened violently in front of Lingyun, and Yakumo Yukari threw herself directly onto him. "What on earth happened to you before? Why didn't you tell me that you would suffer such serious injuries after Yuyuko became the Princess of the Underworld?"
"How could anything happen to me?" Lingyun smiled and said. "Besides, my injuries were not caused by Yuyuko becoming the Princess of the Underworld, but for another reason."
"Lingyun, I think you should return to the Bamboo Forest as quickly as possible now; the Princess is very worried about you!" Yagokoro Eirin said.
"I know." Lingyun nodded, and a Teleportation Array appeared beneath his feet, carrying him away as he vanished into the air.
"Teacher still hasn't returned; I miss him so much!" Fujiwara no Mokou rested her cheeks on her hands, her eyes filled with longing.
"Why hasn't Eirin returned yet? Could it be that Teacher has met with an accident?" Kaguya, sitting beside Fujiwara no Mokou, could not help but have a trace of worry appear in her eyes.
Just at this moment, a Space Array unfolded abruptly in front of the two, and Lingyun's figure appeared from within it.
"I'm back; did you miss me, Kaguya, Mokou?"
