Chapter 952: The Last Member of the Five-Colored Team
Looking at the Soul Gem in Lingyun's hand, even Tomoe Mami could not help but let out a gasp of surprise.
Although she did not understand what kind of change had occurred to this Soul Gem in Lingyun's hand, she could feel that after her own Soul Gem had passed through Lingyun's hands, a strange sense of peace seemed to have emerged in her heart; it was clearly a positive transformation.
"Teacher, what did you do?" Sayaka looked at the Soul Gem in Lingyun's hand, a trace of confusion flashing in her eyes.
"You can consider it as me setting up an insurance policy within your Soul Gems, capable of preventing your Soul Gems from encountering any unexpected situations," Lingyun said.
"Unexpected situations? What kind of unexpected situations?" Sayaka still did not quite understand.
"Believe me, you wouldn't want to know exactly what this unexpected situation is!" Lingyun said to Sayaka with a smile.
Hearing Lingyun say this, Sayaka couldn't help but shrink her head; she could feel that Lingyun was not joking with this statement. If Lingyun were to speak, she might truly be unable to bear the secret within it.
"Teacher, the insurance you mentioned, is it the thing I experienced before?" Tomoe Mami asked softly.
Seeing Tomoe Mami's expression, Lingyun fell silent for a moment, then finally nodded slightly: "It is exactly what you are thinking of!"
Hearing Lingyun's words, a pallor could not help but surge onto Tomoe Mami's face. She had once thought that the truth might be cruel, but she had not expected it to be cruel to this extent.
"Rest assured, with me here, such things will not happen!" Lingyun said with a smile. "As your teacher, I will not let you fall into that kind of dangerous situation."
"That kind of outcome, is it truly impossible to change?" Tomoe Mami asked.
"Judging from the current situation, there is no way for now. However, in the future, it will definitely be possible to change it!" Lingyun said with a smile. "Before this future arrives, I will protect you all well! Perhaps, you can try to rely on your teacher."
"I, can I really?"
"No problem, after all, I am your teacher, your elder!" Lingyun reached out and patted Tomoe Mami's head.
"Mami-nee, what are you two talking about?" Sayaka scratched her head and asked with some confusion.
"This is a little secret between the teacher and me!" Tomoe Mami said to Sayaka with a smile.
Hearing Tomoe Mami say this, Sayaka nodded as if she understood. Although she was very curious about the matters between Tomoe Mami and Lingyun, she also knew that this was not something she should pry into.
"Alright, since you're here, then stay at the teacher's place for dinner." Lingyun pressed against the table and stood up.
"Eh, is that okay?" Kaname Madoka asked with some surprise.
"That is no problem at all." Lingyun said with a smile.
The sun had already slanted to the west; on the edge of a tall building sat a young girl. The girl sat carelessly on the edge of the roof, holding a bag of apples in one hand and another in her other hand, her feet swinging slightly, completely ignoring the danger of this place.
The girl had long, crimson, slightly curled hair in a ponytail, wore a black ribbon, had parted bangs, strawberry-red eyes, and was dressed in a light greenish-blue casual hoodie and blue denim shorts, wearing brown long boots while barefoot. From the girl's expression and behavior, she had quite the air of a delinquent girl.
Beside the girl stood a snow-white little beast, which was none other than Kyubey, who had disappeared earlier.
"You're saying that in this tiny place, a total of three Magical Girls have gathered?" Sakura Kyoko looked at the city before her, her eyes filled with a trace of curiosity.
"It's not just that! In this city, there is also a teacher, a teacher who can contend with Witches, and even destroy Witches!" Kyubey said, flicking its large tail.
"A teacher who can destroy Witches, and there's a Magical Girl as old as that?" Sakura Kyoko took a fierce bite of an apple, her eyes filled with a trace of curiosity.
"Not a Magical Girl; to be honest, I don't even know what kind of existence he is!" Kyubey shook its head and said.
"He?" Sakura Kyoko noticed that the word Kyubey used seemed a bit off.
"That's right, it's 'he', not 'she'. That person is a male!" Mentioning Lingyun, a trace of wariness could not help but emerge in Kyubey's eyes.
"If that's the case, then it really is interesting!" Sakura Kyoko took the last bite of the apple in her hand, then casually tossed the core to the side. "And, with so many Magical Girls gathered together, wouldn't they fight each other to the death over Grief Seeds?"
"From what I can see now, that situation hasn't happened yet!" Kyubey said.
"The more I hear, the more interesting it gets! I really want to go and see for myself!" Sakura Kyoko exerted force in her body and jumped up in one motion.
"By the way, this place is the address of that teacher who possesses the power to destroy Witches!" A piece of paper appeared on Kyubey's paw out of nowhere; its paw pushed the paper and handed it to Sakura Kyoko.
Sakura Kyoko took the paper from Kyubey's paw and looked at the address, a trace of curiosity flashing in her eyes.
In fact, this was not her first time coming to Mitakihara; in Mitakihara, there was still an old friend of hers, and this old friend was none other than Tomoe Mami. Sakura Kyoko had once learned methods of searching for Witches and fighting from Tomoe Mami, and the two could be considered comrades-in-arms. But later, because problems arose in Sakura Kyoko's family, it led to a rift between the two; Sakura Kyoko left Mitakihara and never returned.
"Mitakihara, it really is a nostalgic place!" Sakura Kyoko let out a soft sigh, then walked quickly away from the roof.
"Introduced a new Magical Girl; I wonder what kind of variables this will cause. In this way, a total of four Magical Girls have gathered in Mitakihara. Sayaka Miki might be a very good breakthrough point!" Thinking of that blue voice, Kyubey's tone remained flat, but it contained deep malice.
"Bang—" A gunshot suddenly rang out.
Before Kyubey could react, a bullet had already pierced through its skull from the back of its head. Kyubey collapsed limply onto the ground, a trace of confusion still lingering in its eyes.
A small black shadow emerged from beneath Kyubey's corpse and instantly swallowed Kyubey's body.
"Tsk, no taste at all; it really is just scum!" A clone of Tokisaki Kurumi walked out from the shadows, looking at the clean ground with a trace of disdain in her eyes.
"Forget it, forget it, I'd better go back; Darling is already preparing something delicious!" The clone chuckled softly, her figure slowly sinking into the darkness.
