Chapter 995: A Visit
"Ding-ling, ding-ling—"
The doorbell of the room was pressed, and Leone, who had been lying on the sofa, stood up and walked toward the door.
"Who is it?" She remembered that Lingyun and the others had keys, so they certainly wouldn't ring the doorbell if they returned; in other words, were the people at the door guests?
After opening the door, a trace of astonishment couldn't help but appear on Leone's face, because the people in front of her were none other than Rias Gremory and her group.
"Did you actually track us to this place?" Looking at the people in front of her, Leone couldn't help but frown.
"Sister Leone, the Department Head is here to visit Lingyun this time." Seeing that the atmosphere was a bit off, Shirone quickly stepped forward and said.
"Visit Lingyun?" Hearing Tachiro Shirone say this, a trace of doubt flashed in Leone's eyes; when did Lingyun get involved with this person in front of them?
However, since the other party was here to visit Lingyun, she couldn't very well block them. Leone stepped aside and let Rias Gremory and the others enter the room.
"Lingyun and the other went out to buy groceries; looking at the time, they should be back soon. Please wait a moment," Leone said.
"Buy groceries?" A trace of bewilderment couldn't help but flash in Rias Gremory's eyes.
"Mm," Leone nodded.
Just at this moment, two figures appeared in front of the door, and Lingyun and Tokisaki Kurumi walked in carrying large and small bags.
"Leone, do we have guests?" Lingyun asked.
"That's right, and they're here to see you," Leone said.
Looking at the people standing in the living room, a strange glint flashed in Lingyun's eyes. Although he knew that after Tachiro Shirone went back, Rias Gremory and the others would inevitably find a way to meet him, he hadn't expected the other party's actions to be so swift, appearing before him the very next day.
"Koneko!" A trace of pleasant surprise appeared on Tokisaki Kurumi's face. After placing the things in her hands into the kitchen, she happily pounced toward Tachiro Shirone.
Watching the interaction between Tokisaki Kurumi and Tachiro Shirone, a trace of bewilderment couldn't help but appear on Rias Gremory's face. It seemed that the other party really liked Tachiro Shirone; if that were the case, using Tachiro Shirone as a bridge, perhaps the two sides could have a very good exchange.
Lingyun greeted Rias Gremory and the others to sit down, then put the things in his hands into the kitchen, brought out several drinks from the kitchen, and placed them in front of everyone.
"Greetings, I am Rias Gremory, the next head of the Gremory Family, a Pure-blooded Devil family of the Underworld, and I am a High-class Devil!" Rias Gremory stood up, her face carrying a look of confidence and pride. "As for these children beside me, they are all my servants."
"Nice to meet you, I am Himejima Akeno, a servant of Rias Gremory." Himejima Akeno stood up, folded her hands in front of her, and bowed to Lingyun; every movement was filled with the aura of a traditional Japanese woman.
"I am Kiba Yuuto, also a servant of Rias Gremory." Kiba Yuuto bowed slightly toward Lingyun.
"I am Lingyun, a human; well, you could also call me a traveler," Lingyun said.
"A human?" A trace of bewilderment couldn't help but flash in Rias Gremory's eyes. "You aren't joking, are you?"
"That's right, I am a genuine human!" Lingyun said with a smile.
"I am Tokisaki Kurumi, I am a Spirit!" Hugging Tachiro Shirone, Tokisaki Kurumi said with a giggle to Rias Gremory and the others.
"A Spirit?"
"That's right, a Spirit, and one that belongs solely to Lingyun!" Kurumi said with a smile.
"A Spirit that belongs solely to Lingyun?" A trace of contemplation flashed in Rias Gremory's eyes.
Spirits naturally existed in this world, but she had never seen a Spirit like Tokisaki Kurumi, and since Tokisaki Kurumi said she was a Spirit belonging solely to Lingyun, then Lingyun's own identity must certainly be extraordinary.
"We have already met a few times, but let's introduce ourselves formally; my name is Leone, and I am a friend of Lingyun," Leone waved at Rias Gremory and the others.
"I wonder what important matter brings Miss Rias Gremory here to visit?" Lingyun asked.
"Kuo Town is the Gremory Clan's territory in the human world, and I am the manager of this territory," Rias Gremory said.
Hearing Rias Gremory say this, Lingyun understood her intent. As the manager of a territory, now that powerful outsiders with unknown intentions had appeared in her territory, it was quite normal for her to come and understand their intentions.
If it were ordinary people entering Kuo Town, Rias Gremory probably wouldn't pay any attention to it. But now that several powerful individuals of unknown origin had suddenly appeared, it was natural for them to arouse Rias Gremory's vigilance. After all, who knew what these powerful individuals were here for, or what kind of influence they would have on this place.
One had to know that although the great war between the Devils, Angels, and Fallen Angels had concluded and the three races had entered a relatively peaceful period, there was no lack of warmongers within the three races who were constantly thinking of inciting the next war between the three races.
Under these circumstances, Lingyun and the others entering Kuo Town would naturally be highly valued by Rias Gremory. Lingyun believed that if it weren't for the fact that they lacked the aura of Angels and Fallen Angels, what they would be facing would likely not be Rias Gremory's visit, but the Gremory Clan's expulsion.
Thinking of this, Lingyun felt a bit more goodwill toward the young woman in front of him; after all, among the three great races, there were many who looked down upon humans quite a bit. That Rias Gremory could treat them with this kind of attitude was already no small feat.
After all, knowing that Lingyun was a human, and a human who looked quite ordinary at that, Rias Gremory was still willing to converse with Lingyun on equal footing; that was not an easy thing to do.
"By the way, Miss Rias Gremory, please don't mistake me for an ordinary human!" Lingyun reminded her.
"That's right, Lingyun's strength is far greater than either mine or Kurumi's!" Leone also said.
"A powerful individual?" Rias Gremory couldn't help but narrow her eyes.
However, she did not fully believe Leone's words; after all, in her eyes, Lingyun really looked no different from an ordinary person. Whether this was the other party bluffing, she wasn't sure.
"I wonder what reason brought Mr. Lingyun to Kuo Town?" Rias Gremory asked.
"My main purpose for coming to Kuo Town? Actually, it's because Kurumi wanted to come here to find someone," Lingyun said.
"Find someone?" A trace of doubt couldn't help but flash in Rias Gremory's eyes.
"That's right, Kurumi once signed a contract with a little kitten, but later that little kitten went missing, and we followed the traces of that little kitten to this place," Lingyun said.
"A kitten?" Hearing Lingyun say this, a trace of doubt couldn't help but flash in Rias Gremory's eyes.
"That's right," Lingyun nodded. "Kurumi really loves kittens!"
Rias Gremory cast her gaze toward Tokisaki Kurumi, only to find that she was playing quite happily with Tachiro Shirone, and a trace of realization flashed in her eyes. No wonder Tachiro Shirone could play so happily with Tokisaki Kurumi; she was a cat too!
