Chapter 614: Guanyin, Your Heart Has Stirred
Lingshan, Thunder Sound Temple.
At this moment, the atmosphere of the entire Buddhism is subtle.
The three great Buddhas have different expressions; naturally, Tathagata Buddha is as calm as ever, fully aware of what is happening in the mortal world at this time.
But Randeng, as the Past Buddha, is not calm, questioning: "Tathagata, you actually lent out the Mountain Soul of Mount Xumi. Do you know that Mount Xumi is the Saint Mountain of our Western Sect? It was here that the two Saints preached and established the sect's lineage, which led to the extremely prosperous Buddhism of today."
The so-called Mountain Soul is the Mountain Soul of Mount Xumi.
Mount Xumi has existed since the ancient era, having experienced many Tribulations, and is extremely ancient.
Furthermore, it is one of the three great Divine Mountains of antiquity!
The three great Divine Mountains of antiquity are Buzhou, Kunlun, and then Xumi.
However, at that time, Xumi was not the Saint Mountain of Buddhism, but the dojo of Demon Ancestor Luohou.
After Demon Ancestor Luohou fell, the two Saints Jieyin and Zhun Ti rose to power, refining the endless Demonic Qi and baleful energy of Mount Xumi to transform it into a Buddhist land, later surpassing others.
Although the Mountain Moving Art of Yinjiao Dawang is profound, it is impossible to summon the true physical body of Mount Xumi, because the Karma of Mount Xumi is too great, and it is not something a Golden Immortal can bear.
Even Mount Tai and Mount Emei are the same!
It is not the physical body that descends, but the Mountain Soul contained within that is summoned.
There is no difference between the descent of the Mountain Soul and the descent of the physical body; both possess vast and mighty power.
Especially Mount Xumi, which has accumulated the power of Faith from the Buddhism of the Three Realms; the Mount Xumi itself is equivalent to a top-grade Spirit Treasure no less than an Innate Spirit Treasure.
This is also where Randeng Buddha feels angry and depressed; Tathagata's action is no less than handing over his own home to others, even if only temporarily.
Facing Randeng's questioning, Tathagata Buddha spoke: "Regarding this matter, I have already discussed it with the two Saints, and they also agreed with my approach."
"Although there are constant surprises now, this Journey to the West is originally a Tribulation to strengthen and flourish Buddhism; only when the degree of Karma involved is higher will the degree of recognition by the Heavenly Dao be greater."
How could small troubles bring this Tribulation to its extreme?
If Xumi were not lent out, how would Laojun descend to take action? Randeng Buddha, do you not understand the Karma within this?
Randeng is silent, and in hindsight, he finally understands the significance of this move.
"If we do not borrow the power of the Three Teachings to suppress Sun Wukong, unless we Quasi-Saints take action, who else in these Three Realms can suppress Sun Wukong?" Tathagata continues.
"Very well." Randeng no longer dwells on it.
"Buddha, let's just say, why must we borrow mountains? Can't we just change the rules!" Maitreya Buddha complains.
"In the dark, everything has a fixed number. If we do not conduct the Mountain Moving Art competition, how could Jin Jiao and Yin Jiao be opponents of Sun Wukong with their supernatural powers? If Xuanzang were to take action again, this Tribulation would lose its meaning," Tathagata Buddha says.
If Xuanzang were not a Great Luo Golden Immortal, with the magic power of Jin Jiao and Yin Jiao, they could have divided and conquered, defeating him piece by piece, and could have directly captured Xuanzang without so much trouble.
There is also the matter of Xuanzang using his supernatural powers to turn into a wild dog to bite Yin Jiao; it made his scalp tingle just watching it.
A monk is supposed to be compassionate, how could he be so ferocious?
"Understood." Maitreya Buddha says nothing more.
He silently prays for Huangmei and the Arm-Armed Ape under his command.
He hopes that these two foolish disciples can safely pass the Tribulation and not cause any trouble.
Below the Buddha, the four great Bodhisattvas stand, each showing a look of compassion and pity for the world.
Of course, except for Guanyin Bodhisattva, who is lost in thought and distracted.
Seeing this, Tathagata says: "Guanyin, you seem to have something on your mind?"
Guanyin's spirit is slightly startled, and she hurriedly returns her Primordial Spirit to her true self, showing a holy and compassionate look, saying:
"Reporting to Buddha, I have no worries on my mind."
"Is that so? Then I shall test you with a question. Guanyin Bodhisattva, look at the drifting clouds in the sky of the Buddha Realm, moving slowly; what is the cause that makes them move forward?" Tathagata says.
Guanyin says without hesitation: "Naturally, it is the existence of wind that makes these clouds move, roaming the heavens and earth, free and unfettered."
Tathagata Buddha shakes his head and says: "No."
Guanyin ponders; the answer to this question is obvious, and most people would answer it.
And as the leader of Buddhism, Tathagata would certainly not ask a meaningless question; furthermore, any question that reaches Buddhism will have a new meaning of interpretation.
Thus, Guanyin has an answer in her heart and replies: "Since it is not the wind moving, and all things have spirits, bathing in the Buddhist Dharma every day at Lingshan and becoming spirits, then it must be that these clouds are moving toward the mountain themselves."
Hearing this, Tathagata Buddha continues to shake his head.
Guanyin is surprised that this answer is still wrong, so she asks: "Please, Buddha, enlighten me."
"The Buddha says: For those who have left the secular life, the four elements are all empty. In reality, this is not the case. All things in this world, all phenomena are empty. The world's right and wrong, good and bad, superior and inferior have no unified standard. I call it 'Illusion'; all 'karmic conditions of good, violation, and evil' are 'the environment changing with the heart'," Tathagata Buddha says.
"The environment changes with the heart?" Guanyin contemplates secretly.
"If the heart moves, all things move. If the heart is still, all things are still. So, do you understand the answer now, Guanyin Bodhisattva?" Tathagata Buddha says.
Guanyin is naturally gifted; how could she not understand at this point?
"Buddha, this poor monk understands," Guanyin Bodhisattva says, bowing her head.
The other Buddhas, seeing this scene of debating the Buddhist Dharma, nod one after another, praising Tathagata's profound and miraculous Buddhist Dharma.
Of course, Guanyin Bodhisattva will not be affected by anything.
Having reached her realm, the principles of the world can no longer affect her, nor will she easily change her will because of external forces.
Although what Tathagata said is mysterious and profound, it is actually just an external path, not the Great Dao.
For Buddhas with shallow Buddhist Dharma, it might be an enlightenment, but for Guanyin, it is just a drop in the ocean.
The reason Guanyin bows her head is only because of Tathagata's status and realm.
If the debate on the Dharma were to continue, Guanyin believes Tathagata would talk incessantly for hundreds of years.
Subsequently, Tathagata Buddha continues to lecture on the scriptures. Guanyin asks for leave to return to the South Sea, and Tathagata does not stop her.
In the mortal world, above Pingding Mountain. Guanyin's figure appears out of thin air.
Guanyin was originally planning to return to the South Sea, but as she flew, she arrived here, as if guided by a ghost.
And at this moment, the movement below is immense; the three Divine Mountains of Mount Tai, Mount Emei, and Xumi press down on Sun Wukong's back, the earth shakes and mountains sway, and strange phenomena of heaven and earth appear incessantly.
Sun Wukong gritted his teeth tightly, his Fiery Eyes shooting out golden light, his entire body's strength surging; his back was pressed down ninety degrees, and most of his body had sunk into the soil, yet even so, he did not collapse or admit defeat.
If it were only the power of Yin Jiao alone, it would naturally be impossible to pose such a great threat to Sun Wukong.
As for the power of the Three Teachings, there are not many in the entire Three Realms who can withstand it.
"Keeper of the Heavenly Horses, admit defeat; you are not a Great Luo Golden Immortal, so how could you possibly block these three Divine Mountains under the power of the Three Teachings? Even the Five Fingers Mountain of the past was not as formidable as this, wahahaha!" Yinjiao Dawang laughed wildly.
The reason Five Fingers Mountain was able to suppress Sun Wukong was also because it possessed the Dharma power of Rulai's Buddhist mantra.
Relying solely on Five Fingers Mountain itself, Sun Wukong could shatter it with a single punch.
