Chapter 221: Yang Tao, You're Too Cruel

"Yes."

The emergency doctor pointed at the old woman's CT scan,

then said, "Look here, your left lower leg fibula is fractured. We need to apply a cast for fixation, and you'll need bed rest and recovery later. Go pay the fees first; you'll likely need to stay for seven or eight days."

"Understood, doctor."

Yang Tao responded,

walked to the emergency ward bed,

then looked at the old woman and said, "Grandma, please give me your ID card. I'll go handle your hospital admission and payment."

"What? ID card?"

Hearing she needed an ID card, the old woman's face changed: "No, I don't have one."

"How can you not have one?"

Upon hearing this, the two police officers couldn't hold back: "Grandma, if you don't have an ID card, you're not a citizen of Great Xia. If you're not our citizen, you don't enjoy legal protection!"

Scared by the police officer's threat,

the old woman hesitated,

and after a while, looked at the bag beside her: "The ID card is in my bag. Take it yourself. Also, there's over three thousand yuan in my bag; you're not allowed to touch it!"

"Understood. You won't spend a penny."

Yang Tao helplessly responded,

opened the old woman's bag,

and indeed, inside was a stack of brand-new 2009 Renminbi,

Yang Tao rummaged through it,

didn't find the ID card,

but found a business card for Zhu Tao,

Zhu Tao?!

How could this old woman have his business card?!

Yang Tao looked up at the old woman,

seeing her staring fixedly at her without moving,

Yang Tao remained silent,

continued rummaging,

and finally pulled out the old woman's ID card,

then put the bag back in its original place,

Qian Xun. 554707555

Seeing that Yang Tao had indeed only taken the ID card,

the old woman finally relaxed and then started complaining of hunger.

Yang Tao smiled helplessly,

agreed to buy food for the old woman,

then took the old woman's ID card and walked toward the payment counter,

after walking for a while,

Yang Tao thought and thought, feeling something was wrong,

so,

{Qian Xun}②55595300

took out her phone and dialed Qin Feng's number,

a few seconds later,

Qin Feng answered the call: "Hello? Have you thought it through?"

"No, Boss, there's something."

Yang Tao hesitated for a moment,

then detailed the old woman's situation,

and then mentioned her discovery,

finally,

Yang Tao said suspiciously, "Boss, could it be that this old woman was hired by Zhu Tao to cause trouble?"

"If even you think so, then it must be true."

Qin Feng nodded slightly: "Yang Tao, is this very much like Zhu Tao's style?"

"Yes, he's done plenty of these brainless things!"

Yang Tao nodded, but then still asked in confusion: "But Boss, what I find strange is that the old woman actually has a fracture, and it's a leg bone!"

"No rush. We'll figure out the fracture situation, but first, let's resolve this scamming incident."

Qin Feng thought for a moment and continued asking: "Yang Tao, you said there were several thousand brand-new Renminbi in the old woman's wallet, right?"

"Yes, quite a thick stack, probably three or five thousand, very new, but the other paper bills in the bag were a bit old."

"Good, I understand. First, communicate with the police using the method I'll tell you, then bluff that old woman."

After Qin Feng finished speaking,

he explained his method in detail,

after hearing Qin Feng's method,

Yang Tao suddenly saw the light and then nodded seriously,

First, he opened a medical card for the old lady and directly recharged it with two hundred thousand.

The finance officer responsible for the recharge paused for a moment.

After the recharge ended,

Yang Tao returned to the emergency ward.

He found an excuse

to speak privately with the two police officers.

The three of them went to the hospital corridor.

Yang Tao did not hide anything.

He said directly: "Two officers, to be honest, this old lady is extorting me."

Upon hearing this, the two police officers exchanged a glance.

Then,

a relatively older police officer said: "Miss, we are not making things difficult for you. To be honest, the old lady fell right in front of your shop; it has little to do with you."

"But as you can see, the old lady is of such advanced age. We have no choice but to ask you to bear some responsibility. However, Miss, rest assured, we certainly will not let you pay too much."

"Here is the plan: tonight, just bluff the old lady, and you won't need to come back. I will tell the old lady that if anything happens, she should come find us."

"Is that alright? Miss?"

After the police officer finished speaking, he looked at Yang Tao.

Yang Tao, however, shook his head: "Officer, that is not what I meant."
