Chapter 193: Forgot the Beginning, Forgot the End, Let's See
Speak of the devil and he shall appear—Jiang Nian gave a contemptuous smile.
He got up and left.
The classroom was rowdy after the noon dismissal.
The sunlight slanting toward the podium had already retreated to the doorway.
Deskmate Li Hua stood up from his seat, face full of disbelief.
"Holy shit, since when is he that chummy with the biology teacher?"
The big fatty Ma Guojun shook his head and adjusted his glasses.
"Being a simp, what else? The English teacher doesn't even bother with him anymore. This dog is way too good at sucking up—even the biology teacher isn't spared."
Deskmate Li Hua heard this and couldn't help but feel righteous indignation.
"Damn, hearing you say that makes him even more deserving of death!"
"Yeah, let's ask him someday how he sucks up." Ma Guojun shook his head as he spoke, packed his things and left, leaving only a dumbfounded Deskmate Li Hua behind.
The Comprehensive Sciences office.
Ye Yanqing took a disposable cup and, while making tea, said to him.
"Have a seat anywhere."
"Sure."
Jiang Nian took a look around the office; sunlight filtered in through the first-floor windows.
Outside was the noisy chatter of dismissal, while the office was permeated with a faint smell of ink.
Ye Yanqing poured a little of her own jasmine tea from a small box into the cup, then steeped it with hot water.
The golden tea water rippled, reflecting her faintly smiling face.
Friday noon after dismissal—this was one of her most relaxing moments every week.
The office was quiet; every second of the afternoon sunlight was worth savoring.
"Jasmine tea, you should be able to drink it, right?" Ye Yanqing placed the disposable cup in front of him, then sat down at her workstation.
"I can, thank you, teacher." Jiang Nian glanced at Ye Yanqing, thinking how to compliment her, and said, "Teacher, you got a new little bee."
"It's pretty nice."
Hearing this, Ye Yanqing grew very nervous and shielded the little bee.
"This is for class, I can't give it to you."
Jiang Nian: "?????"
He felt a little hurt, thinking the biology teacher seemed to have some strange stereotype seal impression of him.
He never said he wanted the little loudspeaker—at most he'd borrow it to play with for a bit.
"Teacher, you misunderstood, I don't want the little loudspeaker."
Ye Yanqing half-believingly let go of the little bee, then added.
"Nothing else either."
Jiang Nian: "."
Speechless, he tried probing again.
"What about the jasmine tea?"
"Oh oh, that one's fine." Ye Yanqing, hearing it wasn't teaching equipment, immediately breathed a sigh of relief, took out the small jar of jasmine tea, and said, "I'll share some with you."
Damn, the stereotype seal impression just got worse.
Jiang Nian felt a bit of regret, but on second thought, having jasmine tea on the dot in the afternoon wasn't bad either.
He'd make it up to Ye Yanqing next time.
Ye Yanqing picked up her cup, blew on it, took a sip of tea, and squinted slightly.
Jiang Nian held his cup drinking tea, silently sighing to himself. When had the class ever seen Ye Yanqing this relaxed—like some female college student.
After quite a while, she finally asked.
"Did you finish the biology test paper handed out yesterday?"
Hearing this, Jiang Nian nodded.
"All done."
"Mm." Ye Yanqing was very satisfied with Jiang Nian's attitude—he never made excuses. "Alright then, I guessed you'd have done it. I've collected one test paper here."
"Take it and do it; I won't demand you finish it by any deadline. Do the key-marked ones a few extra times, and if you don't understand something, come to the office and ask me."
Jiang Nian replied, "Okay, teacher."
Noon break.
At the end of the corridor, Yu Zhiyi was pounding her shoulder as she walked toward the classroom.
Time to change bras—another expense.
She had a very bad relationship with her family; back then she'd run off to board out of spite. Her usual living expenses weren't low, but she spent money a bit extravagantly.
Bras were super expensive; if she hadn't had the fight, she definitely would've let her mom pay.
Yesterday it dug in all day, and when she got back to the dorm at night she had her roommate take a look. Sure enough, it had dug a red mark into her shoulder, and today it dug into the same spot again.
Yu Zhiyi tugged at the strap, feeling that slight sting, and couldn't help but hiss and suck in a breath of cold air.
She bet she'd just gained weight these past two days; if she ate less she'd slim back down.
The moment she stepped through the classroom door, she saw Jiang Nian buried in his work.
If this were two weeks ago, she'd have glanced once, then walked past expressionlessly. But now, she didn't really care anymore—her contrarian streak had the upper hand.
"What are you working on?"
Jiang Nian looked up, his gaze sweeping down to below the neck before pulling back—reading a woman by her chest.
She has a sense of proportion — but not much of one.
"Writing a love letter."
"Who are you fooling, it's obviously—" She stood in front of Jiang Nian's desk, her gaze looking downward, but her chest blocked her view, "—a biology test paper."
Jiang Nian looked up, a puzzled look in his eyes.
"You know that and you still ask."
Yu Zhiyi: "."
She was speechless inside, silently walked away, wondering how she had earned his disgust. Every single time he shows disdain, yet when it comes to looking at her chest he never misses a single one — a pure pervert.
The lunch break bell rang, and shortly after Chen Yunyun entered the classroom with her hair down.
Without looking, she sat straight down in Wu Jungu's seat.
"What are you writing?"
"Oh, an enrichment test paper the biology teacher gave."
In the back-row seat, Yu Zhiyi silently raised her head and cast a long, quiet glance in that direction.
The differential treatment is way too obvious.
"Let me take a look, what kind of questions." Chen Yunyun was also a little curious, reaching out to take it, "Looks a bit hard, do you have to finish all these questions?"
"Yeah, taking it slow." Jiang Nian wasn't in a hurry either.
Putting down the test paper, Chen Yunyun suddenly thought of something.
"Hey hey, Jiang Nian, am I white right now?"
Jiang Nian took a look at Chen Yunyun after she had washed her hair — a clean oval face. Long straight black hair flowing loose, delicate brows and eyes, pink lips lightly pressed together.
"That, hard to say."
"Hmm?" Chen Yunyun immediately got nervous, took out her phone and turned on the front camera to check, "Not as white as during the morning run?"
"That's impossible, when I washed my hair, I washed my face three times, shouldn't I be a bit whiter now?"
Hearing this, Jiang Nian suddenly understood.
"Oh~ you're asking about your face?"
Chen Yunyun froze, the expression on her face vanishing instantly. She stared at Jiang Nian darkly for several seconds, then realized they were in the classroom, and for a moment wanted to say something but held back.
"You really—"
Jiang Nian propped his hand on the desk, the corner of his mouth curving up slightly.
"Are you going to say 'warm beyond measure'?"
Chen Yunyun rolled her eyes at him, took his pen and wrote on a blank page of his book.
"A thoroughbred pervert!! (pig)"
After writing, she also drew a letter-shaped pig on the side. The kind of pictographic image — a reversed E, a few w's and m's, and finally a Q hanging off as the pig's tail.
To this, Jiang Nian could not agree.
A real pervert would have demanded to pull open her clothes for a look.
You there, you are a gentle girl. You deserve to be met with goodwill by the whole world, blah blah blah — forgot the beginning, forgot the end too, anyway—
Look at the hook.
In the afternoon it was math plus physics class, two swords combined — invincible.
Jiang Nian listened with a smile on his face, feeling like he understood it all. But the moment he tried to do the problems in class, he immediately felt his IQ slowly draining away — this is a curse.
The math teacher was passionately drawing diagrams, arm waving.
"First draw an auxiliary line—"
In the middle of lecturing, a glance caught sight of a certain student sleeping face-down on the desk, and he flew into a rage on the spot.
"Yang Qiming! Stand up!"
I haven't forgotten the owed chapters, working hard to type them out — when I'm making up the owed chapters I'll make a note of it.
