Chapter 20: Young Master Is Truly Divine—Can He Kill Monsters While Sleeping?
On the rocky beach, a massive luxurious tent materialized out of thin air.
Inside the tent, lights blazed brightly, and the floor was covered with thick Persian rugs.
On the long table in the center, laid with a white tablecloth, sat a feast of freshly cooked delicacies.
“Here, Young Master, open your mouth~”
A young woman in a black-and-white lace maid outfit knelt beside Lin Mo, skewering a pork chop with a silver fork.
Lin Mo opened his mouth and bit into the chop without hesitation.
The scorching flavor, melting instantly on his tongue, made him close his eyes in pleasure.
“Mmm… this belly meat from the Flame Demon Pig is perfectly grilled—crispy outside, tender inside.”
Lin Mo mumbled his evaluation.
【『Fireball Spell』 is frantically salivating: Delicious! So delicious! Quick! Another piece! Don’t you have hands of your own?】
“Glad the Young Master likes it.”
The maid covered her mouth with a light laugh, subtly brushing her body against Lin Mo, “It’s because the Young Master’s body is strong—no matter how much you feed him, he can take it.”
“Anyone else would’ve already had a nosebleed by now.”
As she spoke, she extended a finger to gently wipe a smudge of sauce from the corner of Lin Mo’s mouth.
Lin Mo was about to speak when the tent flap was pulled open.
Ye Hongyu strode in with long, confident steps.
“Young Master, the Special Forces unit has assembled and is standing by outside.”
“Your bed has also been set up. All unauthorized personnel have been cleared from the area—you can train in peace.”
“Already?”
Lin Mo glanced at the nearly finished feast on the table, wiped his mouth, and stood up.
“Alright, I’m full. Let’s begin.”
…
Lin Mo stepped out of the tent.
A familiar custom-made soft bed appeared before him.
Around the bed, dozens of fully armed, battle-hardened special forces soldiers stood at the ready, radiating lethal intent.
Lin Mo plopped down onto the plush mattress.
“Comfortable.”
“Young Master, sir!”
Seeing Lin Mo seated, three burly men stepped forward in unison and saluted sharply.
Ye Hongyu stepped forward to introduce them:
“Young Master, this is Ah Hu, a Berserker; this is Er Niu, a Ranger; this is Shi Tou, a Earth Mage.”
“Tonight, they’ll lead the team to weaken all the monsters and deliver them to you.”
Ah Hu pounded his chest in assurance:
“Young Master, rest easy! I guarantee every monster we bring you will have no more than 5% HP left—you just need to flick your finger to collect the kills!”
Lin Mo nodded in satisfaction.
“Alright, thanks, brothers.”
“Let’s begin.”
With that, he pulled out his phone from his pocket and expertly rotated it to landscape mode.
He wasn’t sleepy after eating—he’d play a few rounds first.
“Yes!”
At their command, the special forces soldiers instantly became shadows, scattering into the night.
…
Moments later.
“Roar—!”
Accompanied by the beast’s roar, Shi Tou’s voice rang out.
“Young Master, incoming! Three o’clock!”
Immediately after,
a crippled, blood-splattered 【Steppe Demon Wolf (Lv.6)】 was hurled high into the air, flying precisely toward the right side of the bed.
Lin Mo remained fully focused on his match.
【『Fireball Spell』 excited: Die, you bastard!】
Whooosh—!
A fiery orange ball shot forth, striking the demon wolf’s skull with pinpoint accuracy.
【Killed Steppe Demon Wolf, EXP +35!】
“Perfect!”
Shi Tou, who had just thrown the monster,’s eyes lit up—this level of precision and prediction was divine!
“Young Master, twelve o’clock! Two of them!”
Ah Hu’s booming voice rang out.
Two low-health 【Venomous Lizards】 were tossed over.
Boom! Boom!
Within two seconds, two bursts of flame exploded.
Double kill!
“Holy shit…”
Ah Hu, returning just then, nearly popped his eyes out.
He exchanged a glance with Shi Tou and swallowed hard:
“Ye Team Leader said the Young Master had insane micro-management and a divine ability to multitask—I didn’t believe her… but it’s real…”
Shi Tou, beside him, muttered:
“I’m an Earth Mage—I know how hard it is to combine micro-management with multitasking… no wonder he’s the Young Master.”
As time passed,
the special team’s coordination grew smoother, and the frequency of monster deliveries increased.
From one or two at a time, to groups of three or five.
All manner of steppe monsters, weakened and battered, were flung toward the area surrounding the bed.
Seconds ticked by.
The night deepened.
Lin Mo had played seven or eight ranked matches, winning streak followed by a losing streak—his spirit finally began to crack.
“Yawn…”
Lin Mo yawned, his eyelids growing heavy, the screen before him blurring.
“Can’t keep going… I’m done.”
He pulled an all-nighter yesterday and cleared the Abyss dungeon today—no one could withstand this.
He tossed his phone beside the pillow, rolled over, and slid into the soft, warm silk quilt.
“Uh… keep going. I’ll just nap for a bit…”
After speaking, Lin Mo found a comfortable position and buried his head in the pillow.
Less than three seconds later, even breathing filled the air.
Not far away, Ah Hu sprinted back, gripping a 【Ironclad Rhinoceros】.
He was about to shout “Young Master, incoming!” when he saw Lin Mo already tucked under the covers—he froze.
At the same time, Shi Tou, returning from another direction, dragged a half-dead porcupine back.
Seeing this, Shi Tou halted, stunned:
“Uh… the Young Master’s asleep?”
Ah Hu nodded uncertainly, “Looks like it…”
“Then… do we still throw the monsters?”
Shi Tou looked at the porcupine in his hand, then at Ah Hu’s rhinoceros.
Ah Hu frowned, thought for two seconds, then said: “Ye Team Leader said we’re training all night—she didn’t say to stop just because the Young Master’s sleeping.”
Shi Tou hesitated: “But the Young Master’s asleep—what if something goes wrong?”
Ah Hu gritted his teeth and said:
“No problem! We’ve already reduced them to barely any HP—if the Young Master doesn’t react, we’ll finish them off ourselves—we won’t even scratch a hair on him!”
“Alright! Let’s try it!”
Shi Tou nodded.
“Let’s go!”
Ah Hu strained his arms and gently tossed the heavy Ironclad Rhinoceros toward the empty ground beside the bed.
Hum!
A fireball materialized out of thin air, screaming through the air, instantly piercing the Ironclad Rhinoceros.
«!!!»
Ah Hu and Shi Tou froze in place.
«This… this is really asleep?»
Shi Tou found it hard to believe.
«Young Master?»
Ah Hu called out tentatively, his voice low.
On the large bed, Lin Mo showed no reaction.
«Young Master!!»
Ah Hu raised his voice slightly.
«Mmm…»
Lin Mo frowned slightly, then rolled over, hugging the pillow and continuing to snore loudly.
«…»
Ah Hu and Shi Tou exchanged glances.
«He’s really asleep.»
Ah Hu took a deep breath, his eyes filled with awe. «He rolled over so naturally—that’s deep sleep, no doubt.»
«Incredible! Truly incredible!»
Shi Tou trembled with excitement and whispered:
«Brother Hu, have you heard? Legend says some top-tier practitioners train themselves to fight in their sleep, chasing ultimate combat instinct.»
«No conscious awareness needed—just pure instinctive reactions of body and spiritual force to kill their enemies!»
Ah Hu frowned slightly, hesitating:
«This… Shi Tou, can anyone in our team do that? Lin Shao just switched careers…»
«What do you know!»
Shi Tou shot him a look and retorted firmly: «Can we compare ourselves to Lin Shao? Who is Lin Shao? He’s the son of Commander Lin! A mighty father doesn’t raise a weak son!»
After hearing this, Ah Hu paused, then nodded firmly. «That’s true—he’s the Commander’s son. Extraordinary talent is only natural.»
The two instantly reached an agreement, their respect deepening.
«Then what are we waiting for? Let’s get to work!»
«Let’s go, let’s go.»
