Chapter 288: Since You Won't Come, I'll Go Find You!

On the other side.

The ruins where Lin Mo was located.

The surroundings remained desolate.

Only the sound of wind and sand blowing over the rocks could be heard.

Lin Mo sat on the ground, bored, resting his chin in his hands.

Nearby.

Da Bai lay obediently.

"Still not coming back?"

Lin Mo frowned slightly.

"This is damn ridiculous."

"I've said my piece, and these people are all just turtles?"

In the skill bar.

【Fireball sneered, a face full of pride.】

【"In my opinion, they were surely terrified out of their wits by my earth-shattering strike just now."】

【"Boring, so boring!"】

【Ice Spike also sneered.】

【"A bunch of trash, lacking even the courage to face their master!"】

Hearing the skills' complaints.

Lin Mo felt somewhat helpless.

He had originally thought he could sit here comfortably and wait for them to deliver their special weapons to his door.

Now it seemed it wouldn't be that worry-free...

Just then.

He noticed a small red dot had refreshed on the mini-map on his panel.

"Hmm?"

"A new BOSS spawned?"

Lin Mo raised an eyebrow.

"Forget it."

"Since none of you are coming."

"Then I'll go grind a BOSS to pass the time first."

Thinking this.

Lin Mo stood up directly and patted Da Bai's neck.

"Let's go, Xiao Lei."

"Let you stretch your muscles."

Da Bai stood up and shook the fur on its body.

Lightning flashed.

Lin Mo skillfully mounted Da Bai's back.

"Set off."

A short while later.

Lin Mo arrived at the location of this BOSS.

This place looked like the ruins of an ancient battlefield.

Everywhere were tattered flags and scattered weapons.

In the very center of the ruins.

stood an extremely massive demon beast.

【Undead General (BOSS), LV. 40】

Lin Mo looked up.

This Undead General stood over ten meters tall.

Its entire body was clad in heavy armor, the armor covered in scars from swords and blades.

Beneath the helmet were two hollow eye sockets.

In its hand, it leaned on a greatsword as tall as itself.

Even standing still there, it emitted a grim aura of war and steel.

"Engaging the enemy, Xiao Lei."

Lin Mo patted Da Bai and casually issued the command.

"Roar——!!!"

The Undead General suddenly pulled the greatsword from the ground and let out an earth-shattering roar to the sky.

With its roar.

the ground of the ruins began to tremble wildly.

The earth churned.

Countless pale skeletal hands reached out from underground.

Immediately after.

Hundreds of thousands of undead soldiers, wielding broken weapons, surged from the ground like a tidal wave.

Dense and countless.

"Bringing minions along?"

"No wonder he's called General."

Lin Mo raised an eyebrow.

Then he said to Xiao Lei:

"Xiao Lei, take care of them."

The next second.

Da Bai's eyes instantly erupted in brilliant lightning.

Boom—!!

In the sky, the already gloomy clouds instantly became an ocean of thunderstorm.

Thousands of lightning bolts wildly converged within the clouds.

Swish-swish-swish-swish—!!

Countless lightning swords rained down like a torrent, piercing through the entire undead army.

When the lightning swords struck the ground, they instantly triggered chain lightning explosions.

Fierce lightning energy ravaged the undead army.

Those undead soldiers who had just crawled from the ground turned to dust the instant they touched the lightning.

Meanwhile.

A spectral image of Lei Shen materialized in midair.

Lei Shen's spear gathered in its hand.

Boom—!!

The spear shot forth, piercing through the undead general's body.

With a single thrust, it shattered his entire upper body.

Under the combined effect of two high-tier skills,

the battlefield was cleared in an instant.

"Hmm, weak. Too weak."

"Can't even compare to a raid boss."

Lin Mo sighed.

At that moment.

A golden light enveloped Lin Mo.

【Congratulations! You have slain LV. 40 Undead General!】

【Level increased to LV. 40!】

Lin Mo raised an eyebrow.

"Level 40?"

Let's be honest, the progression in this Arena of Nations is quite fast.

After all, there are boss-level monsters everywhere.

Plus, I'm soloing and getting all the experience to myself.

And when I entered, I was already halfway to level 39.

I easily wiped out two bosses and leveled up to 40 right away.

Lin Mo glanced at his character panel.

"Level 40—I can now learn new elements."

"I'd planned to go with wind element…"

Lin Mo clicked his tongue.

"What a shame."

"I forgot to bring the skill book for Wind Blade."

"Oh well, I'll learn it after I get out."

Lin Mo shook off his thoughts.

He reached out and patted Bai's fluffy neck.

"Not bad, Xiao Lei."

"Clean and efficient—you've got my style."

"I'll give you an extra chicken leg tonight."

Hearing his master's praise,

Bai's massive body shuddered slightly as he proudly lifted his head, tail swishing through the air.

【"Ahem…"】

【【Lightning Strike】pretended to be calm in the skill bar.】

【"I merely seek efficiency—I have no time to waste."】

【"As for chicken legs… I demand thunder-attribute thigh meat!"】

Lin Mo smiled.

"Alright, alright, no problem."

Then.

Lin Mo glanced at the spot where the Undead General had died; no golden light orb, the signature drop of its unique weapon, had appeared.

What a pity.

Aside from the guaranteed drop for the first kill, the probability of this BOSS dropping its unique weapon was indeed quite moving.

Lin Mo shook his head.

Then he opened his panel, wanting to see if the dogs of Ying Country had replied.

Just then.

A kill notification popped up in the Tianzhu Country information bar.

【Congratulations to the Tianzhu Country war zone for successfully killing LV. 40 Frenzied Blood Wolf Commander (BOSS), Coordinates: X: 1588, Y: 9422】

Looking at this announcement.

Lin Mo thought for a moment, then curled the corners of his mouth upward.

"Good, you people would rather pant and struggle fighting a BOSS than reply to me with a single word?"

"Quite the airs you have."

Then.

Lin Mo remounted properly and patted Da Bai's back.

"Xiao Lei."

"Since they refuse to come find us."

"Then we'll go find them!"
