Chapter 88: You Always Need a Dream—What If It Comes True?

~7 min read 1,324 words

“Good morning, Teacher Xu!”

Lin Mo greeted first.

Xu Wencheng walked up to the group, smiling warmly.

“Everyone’s here.”

He turned to the Han sisters and nodded with a smile.

“Mengyao, Mengqing, it’s been a long time.”

“I just spoke with your mother on the phone—she kept urging me to keep a close eye on you two girls.”

Han Mengqing stuck out her tongue and muttered under her breath:

“Mom’s just worrying over nothing—I’m already grown up.”

Han Mengyao responded politely:

“Thank you, Uncle Xu, for your care.”

Then Xu Wencheng turned to Lin Mo, his eyes filled with deep admiration:

“Lin Mo, I’ve heard all about what you did on the train—you did an excellent job.”

After saying that, he turned to Gu Qingge and said:

“Qingge, take these three girls to their dorms. I’ll take Lin Mo to his.”

“Yes, Teacher Xu.”

Gu Qingge nodded obediently and called the three girls to follow her.

After watching them leave,

Xu Wencheng clapped Lin Mo on the shoulder:

“Let’s go, we’ll talk on the way.”

The two headed toward the best-positioned Villa No. 1.

“Lin Mo, what you did during the beast surge on the train was truly impressive.”

Xu Wencheng adjusted his glasses and sighed:

“Stepping forward in such a situation and holding the line isn’t just about strength—it’s about character and responsibility.”

“If your father knew about this, he’d brag about it for three days straight in the war zone.”

Lin Mo smiled and replied humbly:

“Teacher Xu, you’re too kind. I just wanted to survive, and everyone else did too—we helped each other out.”

Xu Wencheng shook his head:

“Staying calm in utter desperation—that’s talent.”

After walking a while, Lin Mo suddenly asked:

“By the way, Teacher Xu, that senior just said we have to fight two hundred second-year students at the start of term?”

Xu Wencheng paused slightly, then chuckled:

“That’s right. You know about the World Arena, right?”

“Yes.”

Lin Mo nodded.

Xu Wencheng’s tone turned serious: “The World Arena is primarily about fighting humans—they set ambushes, launch sneak attacks, use every trick and scheme imaginable.”

“The purpose of this entrance trial is to help you adapt early to the complexity of human conflict.”

Lin Mo fell into thought.

So that’s how it is.

But twenty versus two hundred? That’s insane!

Xu Wencheng smiled:

“For past Dragon Order class students, this trial was pure hell—no freshman class has ever won.”

“But I think this year might break the record.”

“You wiped out entire groups of 30-level elite monsters with War Aura—two hundred upperclassmen? I don’t think they’ll even be enough for you to fight.”

Lin Mo let out a light laugh and replied humbly:

“Teacher Xu, you can’t say that—people are alive, elite monsters are just objects.”

“Enough with the false modesty.”

Xu Wencheng gave him a skeptical look:

Excessive humility is arrogance. In the Dragon Order class, when you need to be bold, be bold—have that “none but me” aura of dominance.

“Alright, alright.”

As they spoke, they reached the front of Villa No. 1.

It was a sprawling three-story villa with its own garden and pool, decorated in understated luxury.

As he opened the door, Xu Wencheng explained:

“This is your home from now on.”

“Dedicated staff will clean and launder your clothes daily.”

“The villa has an intelligent system—just call the butler for any personal needs.”

“Understood.”

Lin Mo replied.

They entered the grand hall—spacious and bright.

All furniture and appliances were fully equipped.

“As for food,”

Xu Wencheng pointed toward the school cafeteria, “The school’s exclusive ‘Dragon Abyss Pavilion’ restaurant is open 24/7, free of charge for Dragon Order students.”

“Order anything you want—as much as you can eat, it’s all on the house.”

Hearing this, Lin Mo’s eyes lit up.

That’s perfect.

His family’s few gluttons each meal would devour at least tens of thousands of Dragon Nation coins.

Though he wasn’t short on money, eating like that every day still hurt his wallet.

“Come with me.”

Xu Wencheng led Lin Mo to the second-floor terrace and pointed to the mountain range behind the villa district:

“See that mountain? It’s the school’s designated outdoor leveling zone.”

“Over there is the Black Thorn Forest—monsters around level 20 to 25.”

“And over there is Thunderclap Canyon—a level 25 to 30 leveling zone.”

Here, Xu Wencheng paused:

“But outdoor leveling is still inefficient. To level up fast, you need to go to the dungeon center.”

He pointed to a massive building on the east side of campus:

“It connects to dozens of dungeons of varying levels, but entering requires ‘Space Key Stones.’”

“These stones are rare—ordinary students get only one per week. But you Dragon Order students get three per person per day.”

“No way—that’s way more!”

Lin Mo’s heart leapt.

Ordinary students could run one dungeon per week—they could run twenty-one?!

This is privilege?

“Exactly.”

Xu Wencheng nodded, his tone grave:

“If daily limits weren’t a hard cap, we’d give you even more.”

“Dungeons are essentially alternate dimensions. Frequent entry and exit impose heavy mental strain.”

“Three times a day is already the absolute limit.”

“Force a fourth entry, and you risk mental collapse—become a vegetable.”

“I see.”

Lin Mo nodded, committing it all to memory.

“Alright, that’s the basic picture.”

Xu Wencheng checked the time. “Gather at the central plaza at nine a.m. the day after tomorrow. Don’t be late.”

“Use these two days to get familiar with the environment.”

Hearing this, Lin Mo suddenly said:

“By the way, Teacher Xu, I plan to go out tomorrow.”

“Go out?”

Xu Wencheng blinked. “Where?”

“To Tianbei City.”

Lin Mo said bluntly:

“I have a Temple Dungeon scroll—the activation coordinate is there. I want to clear it.”

“Temple Dungeon?!”

Xu Wenchang was startled.

Lin Mo didn’t waste words; he directly opened his panel backpack and pulled out the scroll.

An orange glow instantly illuminated half the living room.

“Orange… orange? Is this a Thunderfire Temple?”

Xu Wenchang stared at the scroll and drew in a sharp breath:

“Where did you get something like this?”

“Dropped by that War Giant.”

Lin Mo shrugged: “I thought it looked good, so I spent thirty million to buy it from the Guard Corps.”

Xu Wenchang looked at Lin Mo with a complex expression.

Thirty million?

This kid really has luck on his side.

If this orange Temple scroll went on the market, people would fight to the death for hundreds of millions!

After a moment of thought, he said:

Since it’s an orange-level Temple dungeon, it’s definitely worth the trip.

“But Tianbei City is still a border region—it might be dangerous there. I’m worried.”

At this, Xu Wenchang made a decision:

“Fine, tomorrow I’ll go with you myself.”

Lin Mo immediately agreed:

“Perfect! With a powerhouse like Teacher Xu escorting me, I can walk around like a king!”

“Enough with the flattery.”

Xu Wenchang smiled: “Get some rest early. I’ll pick you up tomorrow morning.”

After speaking, Xu Wenchang regarded Lin Mo with a meaningful look:

“Thunder’s fury and flame’s ruthlessness—these two elements are always the hardest to fuse. But once fused successfully, they become the most terrifying.”

You kid… you’re not planning to surprise me with a “Thunder-Flame Combo Technique” when you come out of the dungeon, are you?

Lin Mo shrugged at this:

“Who knows? You’ve got to have dreams—what if one comes true?”

“If that happens, I’ll have to mourn for all the second-year students in advance.”

“Hahaha! Good!”

“I’m waiting to see your surprise!”

Xu Wenchang laughed heartily, then turned and left.

With the door shut, the villa fell silent once more.

【‘Fireball Spell’ rolled frantically: Hungry! Hungry! Hungry! I’m about to starve to death!】

【‘Earth Shield Spell’ also clamored: Master… I’m hungry too! If I don’t eat soon, someone’s going to die!】

“Alright, alright, I’ll take you out for a feast.”

Lin Mo sighed and rubbed his temples.

These guys never shut up for a second.
