Chapter 17: I Like This Angle
Floors 11 through 15 of Xingyao Media.
A full five floors, all belonging to the Artist Management Department.
As Shen Huai stepped out of the elevator on the 11th floor, he was immediately drawn to the familiar posters of artists lining both sides of the corridor.
Every face plastered on these walls was so familiar.
They were all artists active every day in major television dramas, films, and various variety shows.
Pick any one of them at random, and their status was heavyweight.
In the words of Wan Dequan, what was plastered on these walls were all the cash cows of Xingyao.
Shen Huai couldn't help but sigh.
How else could one explain why Xingyao became the most prestigious talent agency in the entertainment industry?
Those small companies out there have to exhaust all their resources and seize every opportunity just to cultivate a few artists with even a modicum of fame.
Yet the top-tier stars in Xingyao's hands occupied half the landscape of the entertainment industry.
First-tier and second-tier stars were as numerous as hairs on an ox.
When others lead with a pair of threes, Xingyao plays a royal flush!
For no other reason than that they have too many royal flushes.
Xingyao alone had almost sucked dry the traffic resources of the entertainment industry.
How was anyone else supposed to play? Walking and looking at the same time.
Before he knew it, Shen Huai had arrived on Lin Yeman's turf.
Unlike the Public Relations Department, where each team had a glass cubicle.
The office space of the Artist Management Department was clearly much more upscale.
Although Lin Yeman was a Team Leader, she, like Lu Sheng, had an office all to herself.
Shen Huai stood still in front of the door labeled "Artist Management Department Group 2 Team Leader."
He steadied his thoughts, quietly tapped the recording function on his phone, and only then knocked on the office door.
"Come in."
Lin Yeman's voice was extremely soft and alluring.
Shen Huai entered the office and discovered there was another girl inside.
When Lin Yeman saw Shen Huai, there was not a hint of surprise in her eyes; instead, she smiled and gestured with her chin toward the girl: "You go on down first. Go stabilize the artist's emotions first; I have things to handle right now."
The girl turned her head to look at Shen Huai, then lowered her head and replied in a low voice: "Sister Man, then you go ahead and get busy. I'll notify you if there's a situation."
"Mm." Lin Yeman nodded nonchalantly.
The girl walked away quickly.
Soon, only Lin Yeman and Shen Huai were left in the office.
"Um... I'm here on behalf of Team Leader Tong to coordinate work with you, Team Leader Lin," Shen Huai said dryly.
At this moment.
He only wanted to finish this quickly and escape this wolf's den.
"Coordinate? How do you want to coordinate?"
Lin Yeman smiled, tossed her hair from in front of her shoulder to behind her back, and looked at Shen Huai with burning eyes.
This gaze was just like someone coveting prey.
Shen Huai only felt a headache coming on.
He knew it.
As long as this Lin Yeman was in front of him, she could never stay serious for more than three sentences.
"Team Leader Lin, this is an office," Shen Huai felt he had already given a clear enough warning.
This is an office, hey!
Even if you were bold enough to do anything, you wouldn't do it here!
But clearly.
He had underestimated Lin Yeman's ambition.
Hearing this, Lin Yeman not only didn't restrain herself, but even more excitement flashed in her eyes.
Outside the office was the noisy, bustling sound of work.
Inside the office, an ambiguous, hazy atmosphere was rapidly soaring.
Lin Yeman swept a light glance at Shen Huai, tapped her high heels, and walked toward Shen Huai with a graceful gait.
Shen Huai's Adam's apple bobbed, and he couldn't help but take a step back.
Lin Yeman smiled, her movements not stopping in the slightest.
The office was only so big.
As he retreated, Shen Huai was soon forced onto the sofa with nowhere left to go. Lin Yeman raised her slender hand, and the moment it was about to touch Shen Huai's cheek, she suddenly let out a laugh.
"Why are you still so well-behaved?"
Shen Huai leaned back on the sofa.
Lin Yeman braced her hands on Shen Huai, the distance between them no more than two thin layers of fabric.
Her thick black hair brushed lightly against Shen Huai's cheek, making him feel ticklish right to his heart.
In her seductive, dark brown pupils, his tense posture was reflected.
"Are you free tonight?"
"No."
Shen Huai shook his head subconsciously without even thinking.
"When are you free?"
"I'm not free any day."
Lin Yeman's eyes froze for a moment, then a light smile surfaced again; she leaned over Shen Huai, lowering her head even further.
"Are you avoiding me? It doesn't matter, we have plenty of time to meet in the future."
Lin Yeman scooped Shen Huai up.
Immediately after, a soft body landed lightly in Shen Huai's arms.
Her bewitchingly red lips pressed tightly against Shen Huai's ear: "Let's chat like this; I prefer this angle."
At this moment.
Shen Huai felt as if ten thousand crows were flying over his heart.
What on earth is this person Lin Yeman trying to do?! Is this a proper posture for discussing business? Yet, Lin Yeman didn't feel there was anything wrong with it at all.
Ignoring Shen Huai's livid face, she actually began to discuss serious matters while maintaining this outrageous posture.
"Since you were able to come, it means Team Leader Tong also agreed to my proposal, so this matter is simple."
"... How so... simple? Team Leader Lin might as well speak plainly."
Holding such a ball of fire in his arms, Shen Huai gritted his teeth, trying his best to keep his breathing steady.
Lin Yeman hooked Shen Huai's chin and said with composure: "You saw that girl just now; she is the executive agent I assigned to that newcomer."
"This video was filmed by our people. What your Public Relations Department needs to do is suppress the opposing forces and use the public's natural sympathy for the weak to mold her into the perfect victim."
"It seems Team Leader Lin had this planned long ago."
Lin Yeman chuckled: "The moment you place a piece on the chessboard, you naturally need to know the next ten moves in advance; otherwise, how is it any different from a blind person crossing a river?"
Shen Huai took a deep breath: "The shelf life of public opinion is roughly 7 days, and the press conference is in half a month. It's probably a bit difficult to maintain the heat of a workplace bullying video for half a month."
"Is such a small matter really enough to stump your Public Relations Department?"
Lin Yeman pursed her lips and smiled: "Don't look at how your Team Leader Tong usually keeps a cold face; she is a master of public opinion."
"She is well-versed in the tactic of the secondary reversal."
"Since Team Leader Lin has already thought it through so clearly, why didn't you just let Team Leader Tong be in charge during the meeting, instead of specifically naming me to do this?" Shen Huai frowned slightly.
"Didn't I say it already? Men and women working together makes the work less tiring."
"Although your Team Leader Tong is a dab hand at manipulating public opinion, she is truly lacking in social skills; she can handle public opinion, but she can't deal with artists."
"Artists?" Shen Huai was slightly stunned.
"That's right. How high we can push her this time depends on how well this newcomer can cooperate."
Lin Yeman withdrew her smile and said seriously: "Speaking of which, this artist is actually from the same school as you. Your task this time is to coordinate well with her."
"The same school?"
Shen Huai was somewhat surprised.
Anyone who can be spotted and signed by Star Shine must have a look that scores at least a 9.
Shen Huai might miss class times, but he would never miss every single beauty in the school.
He knew exactly how many beauties were in their school, their names, their majors, and their hobbies.
Those whose looks could score a nine or above were already few and far between.
And someone who could also be spotted by Star Shine.
That was even rarer than phoenix feathers and unicorn horns! Could it be?...
A vague answer had just surfaced.
Lin Yeman parted her red lips and revealed the answer directly.
"That's right, her name is Li Xinran; I heard she is the school beauty of your year."
"Do you know her?"
