Chapter 366

~7 min read 1,251 words

Tianzhichuan High School, the chairman's office.

A cherry-red spatial portal suddenly opened, and the figure of the Virgo Star Disciple appeared out of nowhere here, with a woman in a white suit lying at its feet—none other than the already unconscious Sonoda Sarina.

Wang Guangming half-reclined on the sofa; the round red sofa was surrounded by darkness, above which the starry sky dotted with points, constellations connected into a vast, dazzling yet beautiful expanse, as if one were beneath the starry sky.

"Virgo, where is our awakened companion?" Wang Guangming, dressed in a black suit with graying temples, opened his eyes that held a red glow, straightened his body slightly, his voice like a still ancient well—calm on the surface but hiding a bloodthirsty monster beneath.

"The awakened Star Disciple bears the appearance of Scorpio, Lord Wang Guangming." A clear, elegant female voice came from Virgo's lips, "Its strength is great, the power it possesses is not inferior to mine."

"It injured Scorpio; I didn't linger and left first."

"That's really interesting—is it a child with a special constitution like Leo's? It seems we've gained another companion who explores the mysteries of the universe, Virgo." Wang Guangming looked at the already fainted Sonoda Sarina lying on the floor, revealing a chilling smile.

"Lord Wang, do you need me to find him?"

In the darkness of Zhou Zhao, another unfamiliar voice sounded; the metal-ringed staff lightly clinked, and the red gleam in the darkness cast a long shadow on the ground.

At the center of its flat head was a single eye emitting red light; it resembled a gigantic humanoid cockroach, with a golden cloak draped over its body—another apostle of the Twelve Constellations.

"No, Libra, I really like him; this feeling is truly long missed—don't disturb him, anyone of you." Wang Guangming looked at Libra, "You will temporarily take over Scorpio's duties and continue searching for our companion."

"Yes, Lord Wang." Libra bowed respectfully to Wang Guangming, then his figure slowly faded into the darkness.

"The power of this new companion could change the whole situation; I'm afraid…"

"Don't worry, Virgo; that companion shares our ideals—I can feel it, he is the pinnacle of human evolution."

"His potential far exceeds our expectations; with his help we will surely achieve our ideals." Wang Guangming let out a faint laugh.

The Constellation Switch was made by him; he can sense the power contained within the body of whoever uses the switch, although only for a brief instant, yet it seems as if he has glimpsed the entire universe.

Such an existence must be like himself, able to hear the voice of the universe; as long as they share the same goal, they are the closest partners.

Jiang Xia sat in the center of the living room, fumbling with the Constellation Switch in his hand; the dark‑red button already displayed two different constellations.

Just as his power showed, he has now also replicated Virgo's power; the Constellation Switch activated the cosmic force he had absorbed for a long time.

He thought, raised his wrist, lightly tapped his watch, and sent the Constellation Switch's information out via some special means; when the holographic projection before him indicated receipt, he casually swiped right, and the screen instantly closed.

Research isn't his forte; better leave it to the professional researchers.

He has never been alone; he has many subordinates who will help him perfect this defective product that carries enormous side effects for ordinary people.

"It's already this late." Jiang Xia checked the time; the night had deepened, now he should do something he likes.

……

"That overconfident fool—I will absolutely not let him go."

The lights were dim, leaving only that solitary figure; he wore a white fencing outfit, a mesh veil covering his face.

In the dim hall, the slender sword in his hand flashed silver; his well‑defined chest rose and fell slightly, sweat dripping onto the floor of the hall where only he remained.

At that moment the shadow behind him suddenly writhed; he looked back and gripped his sword tightly.

"Who are you?" he asked the person in the shadow.

"I see the hatred in your heart; you need great power, right?"

The red light that flared in the darkness instantly filled his heart with fear; that monster reached out toward him. "If you can truly give me power, I wouldn't mind becoming a monster," he said.

"Then make a wish to the stars." A low voice filled this dark, profound gloom.

"All right." He looked at the thick‑knuckled claw and, without hesitation, grabbed it.

That slender shadow began to mutate under the sole spotlight, and a piercing hoof‑like howl rose from the darkness.

"What is this?" It felt the power within its body, "Haha, Haizang, you can't escape this time."

……

"I wonder what the teacher is up to?" Fengcheng Meiyu propped her chin on her hand, leaning boredly on the stone bench table.

"Senior Fengcheng, who exactly is the teacher you keep mentioning? I've heard you talk about it all day." Fan Ye Chun bit into the donut in his hand, eyes wide, asking while he ate.

"It's the Campus King."

"Isn't the Campus King Senior Jun?" Fan Ye Chun asked simply.

"Him? Don't joke— the title of King isn't something just anyone can obtain." Fengcheng Meiyu shook her head in disgust.

Someone who only runs away, never faces reality, and even turns into a shrinking turtle when she's on the brink of despair—what right does he have to earn that title?

Looking back now, Da Wen Yushun's actions are just as excessive as her previous habit of treating classmates like trash; if she could, she absolutely wouldn't want to see him again.

It's just this coincidental—even heaven won't let her off.

"Hey, baby." Da Wen Yushun picked up the rugby ball and walked toward Fengcheng Meiyu in a friendly manner.

"It's you—we weren't already over? I have my own name." As Da Wen Zisun approached, every cell in Fengcheng Meiyu's body rejected him.

"Don't be like that; the King and Queen are a pair."

Da Wen Yushun leaned in with a smile: "Isn't it natural for me to accompany you by your side?"

Saying that, he reached out to touch Fengcheng Meiyu just as he used to.

"Pa!"

Fengcheng Meiyu slapped his hand, sprang to her feet, and shouted sternly, "I am the Queen, but I have never acknowledged you as my king; the throne does not belong to you."

"Oh, I'd actually like to know who besides me could qualify as Campus King." Da Wen Zisun shrugged, pulled back his slapped hand, and leaned to one side.

He is, after all, the president of the school's most popular rugby club; even teachers give him face, and he wants to see who could possibly take his position.

"Whether one has the qualification isn't up to you; your so‑called Campus King title is just make‑believe, something you imagined—no one cares who you are, please don't disgrace the title." Fengcheng Meiyu gave a light laugh, "Chun, I still have to train, so I'll leave this to you."

"All right, keep it up." Fan Ye Chun waved his hand, "Bye‑bye."

"I will." After saying that, Fengcheng Meiyu twisted her bag and left without looking back.

"Great, I finally have a chance to say it." After making sure no one was following her, Fengcheng Meiyu's smile could not be contained; she hummed a tune and sprinted toward the Jade Rabbit Cabin.
