Chapter 50: Werewolf Clan
The afternoon sun was exceptionally scorching; even the white clouds were dyed gold, and the sun's continuously radiated energy caused pedestrians on the ground to flee in all directions.
Inside the underground tunnel, the thick concrete finally blocked the sun's gaze, letting a hint of coolness barely survive below.
In the dim underground passage, soft lighting shone; on the gray walls, groups of lights lit up.
Making the originally hidden, deep underground as bright as daytime.
Footsteps came from above, gradually descending; a burly man wearing thick leather clothing and matching pants, with long hair, suddenly appeared in the tunnel.
If Jiang Xia were here, he would recognize it at first glance—this is his target after crossing over, the human form of the Lion Tooth Blood Vampire, Rook.
As the fine bones gently unfolded, the skull of the fallen person instantly turned transparent, like glass.
"Who are you?" Ci Lang whispered weakly; his previous roar had exhausted all his strength.
He spread his arms and walked straight ahead; directly in front of him, a middle-aged man wearing sunglasses, blue clothes, and brown long pants was riding a bicycle.
"Rook! I will kill you with my own hands," Ci Lang, lying on the cold ground, shouted.
A strange face suddenly burst out from above Ci Lang's head, looking down at his already miserable state.
A strange smell suddenly reached his nose; Rook lifted his head and asked doubtfully, "Who are you? Do you need something?"
He tried to use time to determine his next action.
"Haha, you're also wearing sunglasses," Rook laughed a little madly, looking at Ci Lang rushing toward him with delight.
Seeing the sunglasses that looked better than the ones on his face, Rook grabbed and pulled them off.
With his breath, sharp claws slowly opened; the skin-piercing spikes instantly covered his body, and his skull was even devoured by the ferocious wolf.
The vehicle and person collided with the tunnel wall beside them; the middle-aged man's chin slammed hard into the wall, knocking out a broken tooth.
Two emerald-green, bone-like things appeared out of nowhere and then stabbed straight into the neck of the middle-aged man who had reached the end.
He swung his hands like blades directly at Rook, tearing and biting like a mad wolf.
His forearm instantly dislocated, and a mouthful of blood spurted out, staining the wall bright red.
Then he raised his arm; the spikes on his palm elongated, producing a sharp whistling sound, and grabbed Ci Lang's wolf face.
"Are you human, or are you a descendant of another race?"
The Lion Tooth Blood Vampire suddenly raised his hand; his original skin was covered by a tough epidermis, and both hands turned into claws.
Its body shot forward; in the blink of an eye, its hands clenched slightly, delivering a ferociously heavy punch straight at Ci Lang.
Seeing the werewolf descendant already unable to resist, the Lion Tooth Blood Vampire slowly reverted to its original form.
"How come I've never heard You Li mention you?" The somewhat recovered Ci Lang staggered to his feet and looked at the youth before him.
"Swish!" The spikes that could pierce kiva armor directly left a disfiguring scar on Ci Lang's face.
Ci Lang then spat out a mouthful of blood, collapsed helplessly to the ground, and lay there at their mercy.
"I've been away for a while and have just come back. But rest assured, my goal, like You Li's and yours, is to kill the Lion Tooth Blood Vampire." Jiang Xia said, hands in his pockets.
He was like a tall wall; merely spreading his hand stopped the bicycle outright.
Boom!
The Lion Tooth Blood Vampire pulled his arm out of the wall where it had been embedded; rubble fell, cracks spread everywhere, leaving only a deep hollow, already a spiderweb of continual cracks.
"My name is Jiang Xia, a friend of Ma Sheng You Li." He said with a smile, gently pulling the fallen Ci Lang up from the ground.
"No sleeping here, Mr. Ci Lang."
"How weak." Rook reverted to his true form under Ci Lang's angry gaze.
Sparks flew, and his powerful body directly slammed into Ci Lang.
His brutal punches made the already wounded Ci Lang stagger even more; he hastily crouched, pushed hard against the wall with his feet, and curled up, rolling off to the side.
He pressed one palm against the madly tearing werewolf to avoid getting his skin dirty; then, with a jerk of his legs, he thrust hard into Ci Lang's abdomen.
"Boom!" With a heavy stomp, the Lion Tooth Blood Vampire stepped hard on Ci Lang's chest.
"Your eyes hold no hatred, but I can feel that you truly want to kill Rook—why?" Ci Lang looked at Jiang Xia and asked.
However, Rook suddenly froze, as if discovering something; he took off the black sunglasses from his energy-drained face and put them on his own.
Because there is nothing left in this world that threatens his survival, games are his only pastime when bored.
Crack!
A crack sounded.
He crushed the sunglasses originally on his face and then put on Ci Lang's glasses.
Instantly, Ci Lang's blood-red wolf mouth spurted a mouthful of blood.
The powerful force contained therein directly turned Ci Lang back into human form.
A pair of large hands gripped the handlebars; with strength like weightlifting, they lifted both person and bike and hurled them forward.
"Looks like you're not fun," he said dejectedly, lightly slipping his hands back into the pockets of his leather jacket.
Ci Lang covered his abdomen with his hand, still frightened, looking at the Lion Tooth Blood Vampire, as if he had just barely dodged by rolling awkwardly.
Rook watched the oncoming werewolf without dodging or revealing his Lion Tooth Blood Vampire form, as if testing something, his black pupils full of amusement.
"Just an ordinary human; I don't have the powerful strength you non-human races have." Jiang Xia waved his hand.
Human arms directly embraced Ci Lang; Rook jerked upward, and the already werewolf-transformed Ci Lang instantly let out a painful howl.
His knees struck like artillery shells, continually hitting Ci Lang's body.
At the same time, he slammed his shoulders into Ci Lang's joints, preventing him from exerting any strength.
Ci Lang charged at Rook with killing intent; his eye sockets flashed gold instantly, and his whole body turned from iron-blue to deep blue.
His soles slammed the ground again with a burst; Ci Lang himself was flung onto the smooth wall, and the Lion Tooth Blood Vampire lifted his foot and kicked hard at his chest.
As he pressed the countdown, the game officially began—let's see how many sunglasses-wearing people can be killed in twenty minutes.
"Is there anything fun to play?" Rook laughed maniacally.
Rook smiled satisfiedly, then no longer paid attention to the seriously injured Ci Lang, and went to look for the next target wearing sunglasses.
"Don't pretend to be stupid, I will avenge my clan!" Ci Lang looked hatefully at the man before him and said.
"What's wrong, little puppy, are you scared?" Lion Tooth Blood Vampire said.
Rook said happily, "The new countdown game has started." He glanced at the watch he had snatched on his wrist and clicked it a few times.
So that hollow just now is probably right on his own chest.
"How should I put it? I previously promised Youri to help her find the killer of her mother; is this reason enough?"
"You are indeed Youri's friend, just like that guy Hong Yin; few people know about her mother's matter." Ci Lang said firmly.
