Chapter 21: 20. Divine Rock Guardian

20. Divine Rock Guardian

The spell Li Ang released using his entire reserve of magic power was certainly his ultimate technique—Myriad Spirits Agitation.

He would use his magic to forcibly disturb all the spirits in the vicinity, driving them into a state of riot.

During this process, things that relied on spirits to maintain their form would disintegrate, while things containing spirits would lose control and act erratically; as the sorcerer triggering this phenomenon, Li Ang could designate the targets for their chaotic venting.

In team battles, he could make Sky Knights with poor weapon control lose their weapons, or even be attacked by their own weapons turning against them.

Furthermore, extraordinary barriers and weapons forged with magic power of the 5th rank or higher would also collapse during the process of Myriad Spirits Agitation.

It could basically be considered that the stronger the enemy and the more usable objects in the surroundings, the more powerful this move became.

This was his ultimate means as a sorcerer, developed based on his understanding of his profession's abilities over many years.

When his magic power struck out like a shockwave and was driven into the spirits throughout the basement, the dust spewing from the wellhead, carrying earth-elemental spirits, suddenly reversed direction, condensing into earth and stone in mid-air while smashing down toward the wellhead.

The existence deep underground, having the elemental spirits it controlled suddenly rebel and even getting its head smashed by rocks, let out a low growl of shock and anger.

"Hiss-gah—!"

Even purer earth elements surged out from the wellhead; the dust in the air pulled earth and stone directly from inside the well and the surrounding walls, forming a monster in mid-air with a human upper body and a lower body consisting of a rapidly spinning whirlwind of earth and rock.

It had sturdy arms encased in earth-rock armor, wore a snake-headed helmet, and gripped two curved blades, slashing directly at Li Ang in a scissor-like motion.

[Species: Elemental Creature]

[Combat Intelligence: Rank 9 (-7)]

[Servants: None]

[Special Attack: Divine Guardian's Devotion (Unavailable)]

[Skills: Martial Arts of the Divine Servant (Unavailable), Elemental Body]

[Combat Power Boost: 0]

Li Ang performed several consecutive rolls to dodge; the monster's appearance and attack speed were too fast, catching him off guard for a moment.

Once he gained some distance and a chance to breathe, he quickly aimed his magic output at the elemental guardian; the blades it was slashing with stopped in mid-air, struggled and broke free from its grip, and even snapped its wrists directly.

The two earth-rock curved blades reversed in mid-air and slashed crosswise directly into its head, shattering the snake-headed helmet, and the guardian froze in mid-air.

It did not die; for elemental creatures, that concept did not exist, especially since it was shaped by a controller.

Soon, it reabsorbed the surrounding earth and stone to condense a head and weapons, engaging in battle with the rebellious twin blades Li Ang had seized.

Li Ang directed all the magic power of Myriad Spirits Agitation at the guardian; he wanted to eliminate this monster in one go, otherwise, it would keep absorbing earth and stone to replenish its body, and not only this basement but even Zoe's house would collapse directly.

"Hiss—!"

The existence underground also increased its power; although the scene was one of blades clashing and splitting off fine, sharp rocks, the actual confrontation was between two spellcasters.

The Divine Rock Guardian's new twin blades were seized again, and it condensed new ones; after this happened three times, the six blades in the air made it completely unable to block, and after the final pair of curved blades was taken away, the eight blades shredded its body completely, and Li Ang took the opportunity to disturb the earth-elemental spirits that composed it, causing it to break free from the underground existence's control.

The Divine Rock Guardian formed again; this time, it was not under any control.

Although Li Ang could not command it, he could disturb the spirits maintaining its consciousness; these spirits instantly targeted the area below the wellhead and rushed into it, kicking up a whirlwind of sand and dust.

Inside the underground passage, it was momentarily filled with the sounds of rocks rolling, colliding, and grinding, louder than the noise brought by an earthquake.

"Hiss—! Gah—!"

The existence in the gloom of the cave entrance let out a roar of anger and terror.

As Li Ang raised his hand to guide the targets of the spirits' frenzy, he walked toward the wellhead, finally using all his strength to interfere with the earth spirits inside the wellhead to riot in unison, making them launch an attack toward their original controller.

After one last angry roar, the existence underground was smashed back into the darkness by the earth elements it had controlled.

After the sound of rolling earth and stone faded away, only some echoes emerged from the deep passage.

Li Ang turned around and smiled at Zoe, who was kneeling in the corner: "It's over for now."

"So, so amazing..." Zoe was extremely surprised.

She patted her little head, and the pain was eliminated once again.

Seeing this, Li Ang let out a light sigh of relief, but his body swayed, and he almost failed to stand steady.

He had already used one 4th-rank spell and one 6th-rank spell today, consuming half of his magic reserves; without an energy source to support him, he had barely managed to force himself to draw on his energy to use his ultimate technique.

Magic reserves were not just cold numbers, but actual physical stamina; as the reserves dropped, a person's condition would also decline.

He was just a spellcaster, not a melee profession with a powerful physique; he doubted he would even be able to stand right now if he hadn't obtained the passive ability for a warrior's strong physique.

Seeing Li Ang's condition, the young girl hurriedly leaped up and hugged Li Ang tightly.

Feeling him stand steady, she let go after a short while, looked at him quietly, and said nothing.

Unable to help himself, he patted her head and said, "Let's go, let's go up first."

As soon as the two left the basement, it collapsed halfway; the notebook from earlier had been lost somewhere during his first dodge and roll, and it was now buried under the earth and stone.

Leaving the messy basement and returning to the living room, Li Ang sat down on a chair and got straight to the point.

"Rest tonight, and tomorrow we will make preparations, then go directly into the underground to eliminate that thing from just now."

Zoe was stunned for a moment and asked in surprise: "Really? Why, why did you suddenly want me to go with you? I mean..."

She gestured for a while before she made her meaning clear.

Clearly, Li Ang had intended to go alone during the day and not take her to deal with the monster, but now he was asking her to go together.

She couldn't hide the smile appearing at the corners of her charming eyes, but she was also a bit worried that she wasn't qualified enough, after all, she had almost been dropped from the sky island by a wyvern during the day, and that monster just now was also very formidable.

"Just promise me, don't be impulsive, and listen to my instructions."

"Mm-hmm, mm-hmm." The young girl nodded like a chick pecking at rice.

"That thing just now might be the Star Soul your father recorded. Not the one that came out from above, but the summoner in the underground."

Li Ang explained to the young girl.

"It seems you were born with some kind of resonance ability with them."

"It's my fault." Zoe pouted.

Li Ang tapped her forehead lightly: "I said, don't always say it's your fault. From now on, remember, it's not your fault. If problems appear in the outside world, we'll just solve them. If there's really something wrong, I'll say so."

Touching her smooth forehead, Zoe said obediently: "Okay."

"The one that wanted to appear just now should be the Reborn Star Soul written in the notebook. Since your parents' choice was to kill it, I think I should do the same."
