Chapter 156: Never Allow This to Happen!

"First Raikage is dead?!" The crowd stared at the Nara Commander with astonished faces.

The few had never imagined that the reason the Cloud Ninja launched an attack would be this.

Lian Ye slightly raised an eyebrow; this made it all add up.

Wait, he suddenly noticed a problem…

What connection is there between the First Raikage's death and the Cloud Ninja's attack?

Could it be that Konoha killed the First Raikage?!

If we say the Raikage's Personal Guard was killed, the Cloud Ninja's retaliation is plausible.

After all, Lian Ye has never seen the First Raikage on the battlefield…

And as a Kage, he must command the war from the rear, not take part directly in combat.

This makes him even harder to kill.

Unless Qianshou Feijian himself arrives on the battlefield, perhaps it could be possible to kill the Raikage.

But that old guy is still in the Hokage Office handling administrative matters.

Yuanfei Rizhan also noticed the issue and showed a bewildered expression.

The Nara Commander, seeing this, gave a bitter smile.

When he first learned the news, hadn't he had the same expression?

Looking at the bewildered few, he began to explain: "The reconnaissance squad reported that the First Raikage was ambushed and killed by Konoha ninja, and the angry Cloud Ninja launched an attack on Konoha."

Hearing this, the already bewildered few became even more confused.

"Zhi Qi Guan Da Ren, you're saying our Konoha ninja killed the First Raikage?!" Yuanfei Rizhan exclaimed.

"Since when has Konoha produced someone so powerful?" Zhi Cun Tuan Zang frowned, deep in thought.

How many merits could one earn for killing the First Raikage on the battlefield?

Need not even think; the war merit for slaying a Raikage is enormous.

It could directly make one a strong heir to the Hokage.

Another rival appears!

"Damn!" Tuan Cang cursed inwardly, his hands unconsciously clenching.

Lian Ye frowned, pondering the possibility.

In his memory, no one on the battlefield could silently take down a Raikage.

This matter is definitely suspicious…

The First Raikage was "assassinated by Konoha ninja," and the future Second Generation Raikage was killed by himself.

"Nara Commander, who is the Cloud Ninja's commander?" Lian Ye suddenly asked.

He always feels the First Raikage's death is inseparable from the battlefield commander!

When the perpetrator is unknown, one must see who benefited from the incident?

The person who gains huge benefits is most likely the mastermind!

The Nara Commander's eyes lit up, quickly grasping the meaning in Lian Ye's words.

The Cloud Hidden's veteran Elite Jonin, the Jin Jiao and Yin Jiao brothers.

"Not long after the First Raikage left the camp, the two launched a coup, killed the battlefield commander, and seized the commander's position."

"Soon after, news of the First Raikage's death spread…"

The Nara Commander grew increasingly alarmed as he spoke; the Jinyin Jiaoyin Brothers were highly suspicious!

They first secretly killed the First Raikage, then launched a coup, and afterwards displayed the Raikage's corpse, framing Konoha ninja…

"That's the truth!" the few suddenly realized.

Zhi Cun Tuan Zang instantly breathed a sigh of relief, his clenched fist quietly relaxing.

So it was the Jinyin Jiaoyin framing…

He startled himself, truly having thought Konoha ninja killed the First Raikage.

Upon hearing the names Jin Jiao and Yin Jiao, Lian Ye's complexion instantly soured.

The two brothers are precisely the culprits behind Qianshou Feijian's death!

They seized the moment when Qianshou Feijian went to sign a peace treaty, launched a surprise attack that killed the Second Generation Raikage, and ultimately perished together with Qianshou Feijian…

If Jin Jiao and Yin Jiao hadn't been involved, Qianshou Feijian wouldn't have died.

Subconsciously, Lian Ye clenched his fist; he will never allow such a thing to happen!

He killed the future Second Generation Raikage, meaning the future's course can be artificially altered.

Senju Hashirama still being alive is a good example.

Since Hashirama can live, Feijian can live too!

Lian Ye is not a cold-blooded, heartless person, nor a White-eyed Wolf.

He has spent so long with Qianshou Feijian that they have already developed affection.

Naturally, he doesn't want that old guy killed by Jin Jiao and Yin Jiao…

He plans to nip the threat in the bud, hoping to find a chance on the battlefield to kill the two!

As long as Jin Jiao and Yin Jiao die, the subsequent events won't occur.

However, the two possess Six Paths Ninja Tools and Nine-Tailed Chakra, making them hard to handle; a slight slip could backfire.

Don't end up dying before Qianshou Feijian, only to be resurrected by that old guy's Impure Earth Reincarnation—then the fun would be over.

Lian Ye furrowed his brow, contemplating how to deal with Jin Jiao and Yin Jiao.

Banana Leaf Fan, Huang Jin Rope, purple‑golden Red Gourd, Seven Star Sword and Amber Pure Bottle.

These Six Paths Ninja Tools are hard to deal with…

The Nara Commander looked at the pensive Lian Ye, didn't know what he was thinking, but also didn't speak to disturb him.

After talking for a while with Yuanfei Rizhan and a few others, he returned to the Commander's Tent.

He needed to inform Lord Hokage of the First Raikage's death and his own speculation.

So that Lord Hokage could prepare for Cloud Hidden's frantic retaliation.

After all, the First Raikage was killed by Konoha Ninja, and Cloud Hidden Village will never be satisfied!

The situation has progressed to this point; the truth no longer matters.

Now all that can be done is to defeat Cloud Hidden Village and subdue it completely.

The Nara Commander began drafting the intelligence report, and also recorded Lian Ye and his companions' feat of slaying the Raikage Elite Guard, using it to praise Qianshou Feijian's disciples for their skill.

The first few hundred words are battlefield intelligence; the rest is a flowery commendation of the former Qianshou Feijian and his disciples.

What a wise and mighty Lord Hokage… his taught disciples value comrades…

This is an old tradition of the Nara Clan.

……………………

Hokage Office.

Qianshou Feijian took out the intelligence sent back from the Northeast Battlefield and read it carefully.

Sunagakure has already been suppressed by Konoha, not worth fearing.

Meanwhile, Iwagakure and Kirigakure are locked in a great battle, with no time to attend to Konoha.

The main enemy at present is Cloud Hidden Village!

As long as Cloud Hidden is defeated, the war can end completely.

When Qianshou Feijian saw the report's contents, his calm eyes suddenly trembled violently, and a low voice broke the office's dead silence.

"The First Raikage is dead…"

He cross‑checked the intelligence again, confirming he hadn't misread it.

After a long while, he let out a deep sigh.

The First Raikage's death undoubtedly escalated the situation.

Cloud Hidden Village, which initially invaded Konoha, has now become a force seeking revenge for the Raikage.

The war's outlook will only become more difficult…

One can only say that Cloud Hidden Village's Jin Jiao and Yin Jiao are clever tactics!

These two brothers, in order to keep the war going, actually did such a thing.

Since the matter has already happened, we can only face it calmly.

Qianshou Feijian continued to look at the intelligence in his hand.

When he saw Lian Ye and his companions jointly slay the Raikage Elite Guard, a faint smile tugged at the corner of his mouth.

"These kids have really grown up."
