Chapter 810: The Author's Ramblings

~8 min read 1,439 words

I really can't write side stories, geez.

I just can't keep writing.

Actually it's not that I can't keep writing; I just don't want to fit the main plot any more.

But creating new plot is a hassle.

So rather than this, I'd rather not write. In my previous book I didn't write any side stories (even though I promised to, but later thought it better to write a new book, which is this one).

I will definitely not write side stories in the next book, eee‑eee‑eee.

Let me tell you about the writing idea I had at the start of this book.

After finishing the previous book, I thought of two premises.

One was to write about the interaction between Rain Country and the Three Akatsuki, and the other was to write about the Warring States Period interacting with Hashirama and Madara.

But later I suddenly thought of the idea of making the protagonist the adopted son of Feijian.

Having the protagonist be of Uchiha lineage definitely has some appeal and marketability.

After settling on the premise, I started drafting the outline.

The original outline had the protagonist adopted by Feijian, but Feijian kept his distance because of the protagonist's identity.

Only after the protagonist displayed talent at school did Feijian acknowledge him and begin to guide his cultivation.

Cooking was meant to bring the two closer.

Of course, the detailed cooking steps were just filler the author wanted.

That resulted in a bunch of cooking scenes early on.

Later readers called it too filler, so I omitted the specific cooking steps.

And at first I intended Tuan Cang to be a villain.

That is, when the protagonist first entered school, the two clashed.

But later I thought it wasn't necessary.

Both are classmates, no need for such tension, so I placed them in the same ninja squad.

They fought side by side for several years, gradually developing feelings.

As for Qianshou Feijian, I originally planned to kill him off, and of course Senju Hashirama as well.

But if I kill them, it seems I have no plot left.

The original plot:

Lian Ye and Qianshou Feijian gradually develop feelings while spending time together.

After the first Ninja World War, the protagonist warns Qianshou Feijian that going to Cloud Hidden Village is dangerous and asks to accompany him, to prevent him from being killed by Jin Jiao and Yin Jiao as in the original work.

Qianshou Feijian receives the news and doesn't doubt its authenticity.

Since he knows the journey is fraught with danger, he naturally wouldn't let Lian Ye and his disciples take risks.

The peace talks must be attended.

He doesn't let Yuanfei Rizhan accompany them; before departure he strikes and knocks Lian Ye unconscious.

When Lian Ye wakes up, Qianshou Feijian has already arrived at Cloud Hidden Village.

So they head straight to Cloud Hidden Village, only to see Feijian's corpse.

Just like in the original, Qianshou Feijian is dead.

The protagonist thus awakens the Mangekyo Sharingan.

During the Second Ninja World War, Lian Ye's displayed power is overwhelming.

Yuanfei Rizhan and Zhi Cun Tuan Zang fear his strength, and with the backing of the Uchiha Clan (the protagonist hasn't broken with the Uchiha, but returns to the clan after Feijian's death).

The two plan to unite other ninja villages to eliminate him.

Other villages naturally seize the chance; Lian Ye fully activates his eyes, at the near‑blindness cost, counter‑killing all Kage.

Madara Uchiha watches the protagonist's performance.

He sends Bai Jue to attract Lian Ye.

Madara Uchiha transplants Hashirama's cells into the protagonist, preventing his eyes from going blind. (Without a system, Uchiha are like this; it's hard to obtain the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan.)

Lian Ye learns that Yuanfei Rizhan and Zhi Cun Tuan Zang's motives caused the ambush.

They grew up together, yet the two never trusted him.

Thus, after recovering, he returns to the village to take revenge on the power‑obsessed Rizhan and Tuan Cang. (Long‑time readers should know the original premise was the protagonist unlocking Susanoo and pointing his sword at Yuanfei Rizhan.)

He doesn't kill them, but imprisons them.

He lets them watch how he leads the Uchiha to govern the village and defeat other nations.

That's roughly the whole main story.

Chapter 100: Qianshou Feijian dies; Chapter 200: a companion gets stabbed; Chapter 300: resolves Konoha Village.

Pretending to agree with Madara Uchiha to implement the "Moon's Eye" project, they deceive to obtain the Rinnegan and then forget their roots.

They unleash Earth‑Shattering Heavenly Star to seal Heijue.

Make it even more filler; the plan, like the previous book, is to finish at one million words.

In the end, it drifted off course while writing. (Mainly because readers like it.)

Senju Hashirama wasn't killed, Qianshou Feijian wasn't killed either, and Madara Uchiha was all redeemed.

Actually that's not bad.

The only drawback is it's too everyday.

Only the two Ninja World Wars have battle scenes; other fights are really few.

The protagonist just bullies Jiaodu a bit.

As for the appearance of the dragon vein, it's purely filler.

No plot to write, so I let the protagonist go traveling and then bully the pitiful Jiaodu.

Heh heh heh.

Hinata Yuki, I originally set him up as a genius (his status is the young master of the Otsutsuki Clan on YueQiu), the kind who gets along well with the protagonist, but I didn't reveal his identity, and readers didn't buy it.

The later chapters hardly wrote any of his storyline.

Uchiha Shun was originally intended to be the protagonist's comrade; the original plan was (Uchiha Shun, Lian Ye, Nara Motoya or Hinata Yuki, a few of them in a small squad).

But considering Qianshou Feijian and the Uchiha reasons, I decided not to have Uchiha Shun interact with the protagonist.

Otherwise the protagonist would become a White-eyed Wolf.

They were all taken in by Qianshou Feijian, spending all day hanging out with Uchiha Clan's Members.

What does Qianshou Feijian think about this?

The only option is to have Uchiha Tanaka appear and cut ties with the protagonist (most readers will find this baffling—why does Uchiha Tanaka suddenly show up? It's actually to sever the protagonist's connection with the Uchiha).

Not hostility, at least not the same front.

In fact, Lian Ye's plan wasn't made by a fool.

He just didn't want to waste time at Ninja School, so he would fall asleep during class…

While writing, I ended up turning him into an idiot.

It's just that his Cultural Class grades were a bit low, which is no big deal in the Naruto World.

So I was too lazy to change it.

I, Lian Ye, really am a genius!

Qianshou Feijian's experiment is the protagonist's Golden Finger.

Otherwise it's hard to explain why the protagonist became too strong.

Without a system, it works like this; it needs some plausibility.

In a system, the protagonist would already have an immortal body, Rinnegan, punch Madara Uchiha, and kick Kaguya Otsutsuki.

And then add the line "I don't eat beef anymore."

The protagonist never knew why they grew stronger until, after Qianshou Feijian's death, they sorted his belongings and found the Uchiha Observation Handbook.

Because Feijian didn't die, this plotline never happened.

The main storyline outline is just like that.

This book opened on April 5 and was written until March 31, about a year, but longtime readers only chased updates for eleven months.

What a coincidence, the previous book also finished at the end of March.

Now let's talk about the new book.

Each book's readers have different tastes; it's possible that readers of this book won't follow the next one.

That's normal.

But I will try my best to write the next book well, aiming not to repeat the mistakes of the first two.

My first book was truly full of Poison points.

Of course, lacking sense and not caring about OOC makes it seem quite cheerful.

Anyway, that's how I feel.

The new book has a system, but it won't be overpowered.

I mainly write the plot; the system portions are few.

The main purpose is to give a reasonable explanation for the protagonist's Eternal Kaleidoscope.

It's not an overpowered story, but it's not forced either.

The main focus is the plot…

Thanks, everyone, for liking my work; I'll take a day off tomorrow and then start the new book!

One final sentence.

Since you've read this far, are you sure you won't give the struggling author a small tip?

Oh, and those who haven't rated, remember to give a five‑star review. Love you all.

The whole book is finished.
