Chapter 89: I Give Up—Am I a Nanny?

~7 min read 1,271 words

"Who?!"

The sudden voice made Uchiha Tanaka's body freeze.

He hurriedly stepped back, instinctively creating distance.

When he turned around and saw the source of the voice, cold sweat instantly broke out on his face.

Uchiha Tanaka's complexion turned ghastly, "Hokage, why are you here?"

This is the conference hall of the Uchiha Clan Territory; how on earth did this guy slip in silently...

Fortunately the other party has no ill intent, otherwise he wouldn't even know how he died.

Qianshou Feijian wore a blank expression, with no intention to explain.

He had already sealed the Flying Thunder God Seal onto Tanaka, and this time he came specifically to warn him not to make any move against Lian Ye.

"Uchiha Tanaka, I warn you once more: do not scheme against Lian Ye; he is now a member of the Senju Clan!" Qianshou Feijian said coldly.

Uchiha Tanaka heard this and his pupils suddenly contracted.

He hadn't expected that the traitor had truly joined the Senju!

No wonder Qianshou Feijian was so angry...

Tanaka's complexion grew increasingly grim as he clenched his fists in resentment.

That being said, he really had no way to act against Lian Ye.

"Uchiha Tanaka, I hope you won't do anything out of line," Qianshou Feijian said, his eyes narrowed, his killing intent unmistakable.

"Otherwise... I truly won't be able to resist killing you!"

If it's a dispute among juniors, he certainly wouldn't intervene.

But Uchiha Tanaka shamelessly got involved, and he naturally wouldn't let the other party run amok.

Feeling Qianshou Feijian's intense killing intent, Uchiha Tanaka's face turned pale in an instant.

He suddenly realized that the person before him was the notorious executioner of the Warring States Period!

Many strong members of the clan had been brutally slain by him.

Even Quannai had been defeated at his hands...

"I... I understand, Hokage," Uchiha Tanaka swallowed nervously.

He had no time now to fret over Qianshou Feijian's rudeness, fearing the guy might kill him.

Qianshou Feijian felt it was enough and began to rein in his killing intent.

But his red eyes still stared fixedly at him.

Uchiha Tanaka dared not meet Feijian's gaze, instinctively lowering his head.

"This is my final warning: Lian Ye is my adopted son, and I will not allow anyone to scheme against him," Qianshou Feijian said, "Uchiha Tanaka, did you understand?"

"I... I understand, Hokage," Uchiha Tanaka replied shakily.

As time passed, he began to forget Qianshou Feijian's terror.

Only today did he recall how frightening he was...

Qianshou Feijian, seeing this, nodded with satisfaction.

Reasoning with the Uchiha is useless; only overwhelming strength can deter them.

He had already seen this point in Madara Uchiha.

Madara subdued the clan with his overwhelming power...

Every Uchiha is proud; to command them, one must rely on one's own great strength.

Uchiha Tanaka noticed Qianshou Feijian remained silent, and he cautiously lifted his head, but where in the room was his figure?

He instantly exhaled, muttering to himself, "Seems I can no longer target that kid..."

Though unwilling, that's all he could do.

At least for the short term there was no chance to act.

Hokage Office.

"I hope that guy remembers my warning," Qianshou Feijian said.

He would never allow anyone in the Village to harm Lian Ye.

Since the kid joined the Senju, he naturally must protect him fully.

This is his duty, and what he ought to do...

In his view, Lian Ye may die on a mission, but must never die because of a comrade's scheming.

Such a thing must never happen!

For a Village to endure, it must unite outwardly.

If internal strife arises, decline is near.

Thinking this, he took out paper and a pen and began writing.

He intended to compile a book on governing a Village, so future Hokage would know how to manage it efficiently.

"Uncle, it's time to eat."

At that moment, Lian Ye pushed open the Office door.

He saw Feijian deep in thought and instinctively lowered his voice, fearing to disturb the other's concentration.

Feijian heard this, looked up, and his previously stern face softened involuntarily the instant he saw Lian Ye.

"You've worked hard, kid."

He set down his pen and rubbed his slightly sore neck.

He was so engrossed in writing that he didn't notice the time passing; it was already noon.

Lian Ye opened the Food Box, and the delicate dishes were neatly placed on the table.

There were golden, crispy Tempura, emerald‑green fresh cold vegetables, and a steaming bowl of miso soup exuding a rich aroma.

He realized that Qianshou Feijian had been accustomed to this food since childhood, so he specially prepared a Japanese‑style Horse lunch for him.

"The weather's warmer, so I made something light and appetizing for you," Lian Ye explained with a smile.

Qianshou Feijian stared at the Japanese dishes on the table, becoming somewhat dazed.

He hadn't had this kind of food in a very long time.

In the past, the meals Lian Ye made were primarily spicy and fragrant.

Although the flavor was good, he still preferred the food in front of him.

It's a matter of personal eating habits, and it's almost impossible to change.

Feijian looked at the sumptuous Horse lunch before him, and his mouth involuntarily curved upward.

Since he became the Hokage, he has been swamped with endless state affairs each day, often so busy he forgets to eat, and can only nibble Soldier's Ration Pill from the drawer to fill his stomach.

Lian Ye's presence is like a touch of calm in this noisy world, always bringing steaming dishes when he is hungry.

He really feels fortunate that he once took in this kid…

"Uncle, why are you standing there, don't you like the food?" Lian Ye asked in puzzlement as he saw Feijian lingering with his chopsticks.

He couldn't help muttering: This old kid must be used to Chinese cuisine and can't get used to Japanese food, right?

"If you don't like it, just wait a moment; I'll go back and make it again."

Hearing that, Qianshou Feijian finally snapped out of his daze, quickly shaking his head, "No need, Lian Ye, I really like this dish."

Saying that, he picked up his bowl and chopsticks and began enjoying the Horse lunch.

Lian Ye didn't rush to leave, intending to wait until Feijian finished before taking the Food Box away together.

This old kid always finds excuses not to wash dishes; now he has to do it himself.

Qianshou Feijian eats very elegantly, and he eats quickly.

In less than ten minutes, he had finished all the dishes on the table, yet the surface remained tidy and orderly.

Feijian wiped his mouth with a napkin, a faint smile appearing at the corner of his lips.

"You kid, your cooking is getting better and better."

Lian Ye heard that, curled his lip, and said, "Uncle, you've simply eaten too many Soldier's Ration Pills, which makes you think my cooking has improved."

It seems that during his absence, he left this old kid quite famished.

Qianshou Feijian: "……"

After finally managing to compliment the kid, he was met with mockery.

Lian Ye ignored Qianshou Feijian's expression.

Seeing that he had finished, he began tidying the plates on the table by himself.

While cleaning, he muttered softly:

"I'm really fed up, am I a nanny now? After finally getting a break, I still have to come over to deliver food."

Qianshou Feijian silently watched Lian Ye clean, saying nothing.

ps: I can't go on, I'm really exhausted, big guys, quickly generate power to heal me…
