Chapter 100: Don't like me, yet you take the initiative to hug me?
Suddenly, Li Li's elbow strike hit. Su Ruoyun looked up abruptly, followed her words, cast her gaze far, and looked toward that direction.
She saw several tall men riding horses in the paddock, holding the reins with one hand, their postures leisurely and calm, not looking like they were racing, but rather like they were taking a stroll in a garden.
Several men had similar builds, all wearing black riding boots and black casual suits. For a moment, she couldn't tell which one was Ruan Cheng.
"Which one?"
"The most handsome one, of course." Li Li's "cousin-obsessed" mode was online.
Hearing this, Su Ruoyun's mouth twitched. Across "a hundred thousand miles," how could she see who was the most handsome?
"Is he very handsome?"
Hearing Li Li ask her, Su Ruoyun had no choice but to squint her eyes, look around randomly, pick the one riding in the very front who also looked the most leisurely and carefree, and nod perfunctorily. "He is quite handsome."
However, before even a second had passed, Li Li's "fickle" habit struck again, and she changed her mind in an instant.
"But I think the man in the floral shirt next to my cousin is even more handsome."
Hearing this, Su Ruoyun blinked blankly, thinking to herself, *Oh no, I seem to have looked at the wrong person. *
She turned her head and looked again carefully. Next to the "Ruan Cheng" she had identified, there was no man in a floral shirt; it was only next to the person trailing at the very back.
As the group rode back, the distance grew closer, and Su Ruoyun finally saw who the leader was.
Although they were still far away, Su Ruoyun could feel Huo Jingcheng's highly present gaze.
Her eyes flickered, her gaze drifting back and forth, not daring to meet his eyes, so she simply turned her head and stared blankly at the short, sparse grass on the lawn.
It wasn't until Su Ruoyun sensed that those deep eyes were no longer watching her that she quietly turned her head back without a sound.
Li Li curled her lips, hooked her hands on the railing at the edge of the paddock, and waved at Ruan Cheng in the distance, calling out loudly: "Cousin!"
Ruan Cheng dismounted neatly, and the groom who had been waiting for a long time hurried forward to take the Arabian horse.
He walked with steady steps, a gentle, faint smile on his lips, and walked toward the direction where Li Li and Su Ruoyun were.
Unlike Su Mingyan's faint smile, which was superficial and didn't reach his eyes, Ruan Cheng's faint smile was a truly gentle and warm one.
"Cousin/Brother Ruan Cheng."
"Li Li, Ruoyun."
Li Li rested her head on her crossed hands, tilting it slightly. "Cousin, who was the man riding next to you just now?"
She had a straightforward personality, direct and never evasive.
Hearing this, Ruan Cheng looked back and said, "That's Li Er."
Li Er? Li Wenye?
Li Li and Li Wenye, although they shared the surname Li, were not from the same family.
Li Li wrinkled her nose, her expression vivid and cute.
While they were chatting, the other young masters also strolled over. After politely greeting the two of them, they turned and walked out of the paddock toward the small three-story building in the distance.
Seeing Su Ruoyun wasn't very interested, Li Li smiled and said, "Cousin, aren't you going with them?"
Her tone paused slightly, and she teased him playfully, pretending to be disgusted: "You've been riding for so long, you smell like sweat. Go take a shower quickly."
Under Li Li's urging, Ruan Cheng walked into the lounge, and along the way, Li Li was also dragged away.
Thus, in the vast paddock, only Su Ruoyun remained outside the fence, and Huo Jingcheng remained inside.
Huo Jingcheng was the first to dismount, but the last to leave the paddock.
He stroked the back of his reddish-brown steed, chatting idly with the groom beside him, seemingly discussing the horse's condition, and occasionally stroking the horse's fur.
After a while, he handed the reins to the groom, patted the horse's body, turned around, and walked toward this side with a lazy gait.
Huo Jingcheng's whole posture was lazy and loose, casually carrying a riding crop in his hand, the black walnut handle glowing with a warm, jade-like luster.
As he strolled slowly, he lowered his eyes and tied the whip up unhurriedly, his movements carrying a touch of leisure.
By the time he reached the railing outside the paddock, the riding crop in his hand was already neatly tied, held in his broad palm.
Huo Jingcheng rested his right foot lightly against the railing, his hands resting casually on the edge, his movements dashing and free, looking at Su Ruoyun, who was standing to one side, with a half-smile.
"Were you looking at me just now?"
Su Ruoyun looked around cautiously, and after confirming there was no one around, she dared to retort, deliberately acting tough: "Narcissist."
"Do I count as a narcissist looking like this?" he said as if joking, his tone carrying a touch of banter.
Hearing this, her gaze drifted toward him subconsciously. His brows and eyes were deep, his features heroic, and his black shirt wrapped snugly around his body, radiating a cold yet charming aura.
"Do you think you're very handsome? You're not even..."
She licked her somewhat dry lips, trying hard to search for a name in her mind for comparison. "You're not even worth a single strand of Brother Ruan Cheng's hair."
Hearing this, Huo Jingcheng's chest heaved slightly; he was angered. A cold laugh spilled from his throat, and the sudden chill even caused the surrounding air to drop a few degrees, making Su Ruoyun shrink her neck involuntarily.
He said through gritted teeth: "It's fine, as long as you like someone like me. If you want to say your own taste is poor, then I have no way to help you."
Huo Jingcheng had a helpless look, his tone carrying a hint of being unable to do anything about her, as if she liked him very much.
"Who likes you?!" Su Ruoyun felt as if she had been poked in a sore spot and jumped in anger.
Huo Jingcheng raised his eyebrows, carrying a trace of mockery, and said slowly: "If you don't like me, then who was the person who kissed and hugged me before? I remember that woman was Su Ruoyun..."
"Or is it that your body is very honest, but your mouth is..." Before he could finish his words, Su Ruoyun was already blushing with shame and anger.
Fearing Huo Jingcheng would say something shocking again, saying something messy, she hurriedly took a small step forward, reaching out to try and cover his mouth.
Unfortunately, Huo Jingcheng was half a head taller than her. Su Ruoyun could only stand on tiptoe, trying hard to reach out, leaning forward.
Back and forth, her body inevitably touched his chest, and she stumbled, falling into his arms.
Huo Jingcheng easily achieved his goal, stretching out his long arms to pull her into his embrace, holding her tightly.
He had a smug, rogue smile on his face, his eyebrows and eyes full of laughter, his voice was nonchalant, and he said deliberately: "Saying you don't like me with your mouth, but your body is quite honest, knowing to take the initiative to hug me." ===== CHAPTER 101 =====
